The following content guidelines apply to all user accounts, characters, forum posts, private messages, instant messages, avatars, and other forms of content created by users of the Shards of Orn website.
-
Keep it clean. Do not post, upload, create, or send content that is sexually suggestive, excessively profane, obscene, spammy, or otherwise inappropriate.
-
Keep out-of-play conversations polite. Per the Code of Conduct, all participants on the site are required to be respectful and courteous toward one another at all times. Flaming, name-calling, and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
-
Usernames, character names, and group names must be inoffensive.
-
Character and group names must be appropriate for a medieval fantasy setting. It doesn't need to be the most creative name in the world, but a character or group name cannot be generic (e.g., Bob), silly (e.g., Fizzy McWonderpants), plagiaristic (e.g., Legolas), or anachronistic.
-
Your character cannot bear an honorific title, such as Sir, Lord, Baron, Prince, or King. Your character may have nobility or royalty in his or her backstory, but may not be an officially-recognized bearer of a noble or royal title.
-
Keep in-play forums in play and out-of-play forums out of play. Occasional out-of-play asides are permissible on the in-play forums, but should be infrequent compared to the in-play content.
-
Only plot members may post or message as NPCs. Players may only post or message as their active PCs.
-
Only plot members can perform actions in the forums. Players are restricted to moving, speaking, or performing minor in-play actions that do not need to be resolved in play.
-
You must play a PC at an event before you can post or message as that PC in play.
In all cases, game owners are the final word on whether or not content is appropriate for the site. Failure to comply with these content guidelines may result in removal of messages or posts, forced name changes, and/or disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the game and suspension of the offending user's account.
