Baby Emma Joy Akers

Hey everyone.  I hate to make this post, but it needs to be done, so out with it.  Mark Akers (Rasiri) and Rachel's baby girl, Emma Joy Akers, is not expected to live much longer.  She had PDA surgery about a week okay for an artery in her lung.  Today she was rushed into emergency surgery for a tear in her intestine.  Her abdominal organs have completely shut down and the doctor's are saying they can't do anything but make her comfortable.  I have spoken to Mark (Rasiri), and he said they are going to remove her breathing tube once everyone has said their goodbyes and let her taker her natural course.  He needs his Orn family right now and has asked me to keep everyone posted.  He plans to come to the event because he doesn't know what else to do.  Please everyone leave encouraging words and pray your heart out that Emma has a safe and easy passage.

Heaven will welcome her as the newest, sweetest Angel.  And, if I know my Daddy, he'll love watching over her!  
My heart breaks for Mark and Rachel, and their families...prayers for comfort and peace and for God to welcome her quickly.

UPDATE:  Emma passed away a little while ago.  Please, please keep the faith going for Mark and Rachel and comfort them with open arms.

It gets better guys, Sooner or later but it always will.  
 
I'm deeply sorry for your loss and I sincerely hope that you can all can stay strong through all of these difficult times.

As a parent, I can't imagine anything worse than the loss of a child. In the end, none of us really know how long we have with one another, so be happy for the time you had with Emma. Just remember that life goes on and your friends are here for you when you need us.

Mark and Rach.  I don't even begin to understand how to express our condolences.  Please lift each other up during this time and know you are BOTH supported by your ORN family.  We are all truly blessed to call you a friend.  Everyone here was Team Emma!  I hope that you and Rachel can find peace in knowing she's in good hands.  My mama is up there with God, so I said a special prayer for her to be watched over.  As a parent, I can not imagine what you two are going through, but please know you are both welcome in our hearts and minds during this time and hereafter.  I hope I did Miss Emma justice with her updates on here and facebook.  Spread your wings little Emma, it's your time to soar.

UPDATE:  VISITATION FOR EMMA WILL BE FROM 6:30 TO 8:30 PM TOMORROW NIGHT (FRIDAY 10/21/2011) AT EATON'S FUNERAL HOME IN MOCKSVILLE, NC.  THE FUNERAL HOME IS LOCATED IN THE TOWN SQUARE. 
THE FUNERAL WILL BE AT 2 PM.  PROCESSION WILL LEAVE FROM EATON'S FUNERAL HOME.
I spoke with Mark (Rasiri) this evening.  He'd like everyone to know that anyone who can make it is welcome.  If any of you are close by, it would be a great show of support.  Rasiri has mentioned he needs his ORN family right now.
