Taklinn returns late one night from a mining excursion and goes directly to bed, rising the next morning and heading to the training dummy. Loosening up his muscles with a few lazy swings, he quickly gets into a rhythm and starts more and more complicated attack routines. He then grabs four more dummies and surrounds himself with the dummies, and places weapons and shields in their hands. He looks about, ensuring that all is in place before grabbing his axe again and launching into a complicated and effective attack routine all about him, knocking the weapons out of four of the dummies' hands (Fumble 4 times), then sundering two of the shields (Ruin 2 times), and then launching into a series of heavy blows on all dummies around (20 sharp 6 times) and then finally hitting the originally dummy with two blows that sever the last training dummies' arms at the elbow (maim 2 times) and then finishing him off by decapitating him (maim). Satisfied with his work, he looks about at the carnage of weapons and ruined shields on the ground alonside the damaged training dummies. "An oiled axe gathers no rust!" he says aloud with a laugh as he begins picking up his mess.
As he is reassembling the training dummies he spots a small marking on one of the torso of the old training dummy set in the center of the training room. What appears to be a look of recognition crosses his face and he walks to his room and pulls a broken axe out and inspects it for awhile, appearing to look for a smithy's mark (Matial Insight). After several minutes of resting he goes to the training dummy and begins inspecting it in the same fashion (martial insight), comparing the two items together.
After a long time of studying the items, Taklinn heaves a sigh and says quietly to the broken axe head "Ye may have been carried by him, but yer too old to be made by him. The ore ye were made of was far too strong to have been around at the time he was around." He looks at the training dummy and says "I wish the marks were the same, as I know ye were made by Gecel, but the search canno' be that simple I am afraid. Tis no consequence, nothing worthwhile will ever be easy to uncover." He finishes putting the dummy together, then picks up the pieces of the axe and looks them over again, "If ye are as old and well made as I am thinkin' how in the world were ye broken. I've never seen a weapon of adamant get sundered in all of me days, but that is what seems to have happened." He shakes his head and returns to the room and puts away the relic, then goes back out and cleans up his mess before heading out of the Warrior's Hall and to go about other business.
