Stone Cold Justice

One mestrun* ago, a group from Jastrey responded to an invitation from the regent of Forgeholme, Thorhad Stoneshield. While their original business was delayed by an act of murder, they helped bring the guilty party to justice. In doing so, however, two citizens of Jastrey have become subject to Forgeholme justice as well.

Story Notes

While their assistance was appreciated in bringing Elder Boftar Ironheart's actions to light, the subsequent defiling of his corpse by an Uordeq (Durge) and comments made by an Angori (Dalagorn) have prompted action by the Regent and the Council of Elders.

Whether the two submit to Forgeholme's justice, or refuse to do so; will have implications.

1.1 - Jastrey: A Summons

Scene Notes
A young man comes, bearing a message from a group of Dwarves, who currently await a response at the Southern gate of Jastrey. The young man will await a response, unless the players want to go speak with the Dwarves themselves.

IF THE PLAYERS REFUSE TO RESPOND TO THE SUMMONS:
The content is over, as delineated in the message, sentence in absence will be passed.

IF THE PLAYERS GO TO MEET THE DWARVES:
Proceed to scene 1.2.

THE MESSAGE:
To the citizens of Jastrey, let it be known that two of your citizens are wanted for crimes against Forgeholme and all Dwarves who owe allegiance to it: the Angori, Dalagorn, and the Uordeq, Durge.
They are to present themselves at the Southern gate of Jastrey for escort to Forgeholme, where justice shall be served. Should they not present themselves, and agree to be subjected to justice in Forgeholme, then sentence is absence will be passed.
Sentence in absence has been decreed: the Angori, Dalagorn, and the Uordeq, Durge, shall be KILLED ON SIGHT within Forgeholme, or any lands that owe allegiance to it.

SENTENCE IN ABSENCE, IN GAME APPLICATION (SCHEDULED CONTENT):
Should Dalagorn or Durge ever return to Forgeholme, or any lands that owe allegiance to it. The Narrator is requested to attempt to kill them, if possible and logical. Both are strongly discouraged from setting foot in Dwarven lands, if they can avoid doing so.

SENTENCE IN ABSENCE, IN GAME APPLICATION (NON-SCHEDULED CONTENT):
Returning to Forgeholme proper, voluntarily, holds the following penalty: The player shall be immediately SLAIN, and LEFT TO THEIR FATE. Dwarves can hold a grudge for a long, long, time...

1.2 - Jastrey: An Escort

Narrative
As you were told, there are several dwarves, dressed for battle, waiting at the Southern gate of Jastrey.
Scene Notes
The Dwarves are here to fulfill their duty, and cannot be dissuaded from it. If asked why they did not enter Jastrey, inform whoever asked that: the Dwarves are aware of Jastrey's laws, and follow them. Just as they expect their laws to be followed while within their lands.

IF DALAGORN AND DURGE SUBMIT:
They will be escorted to Forgeholme; proceed to Scene 2.1.

IF THE DWARVES ARE ATTACKED:
Call HOLD: Dalagorn, Durge, and anyone who attacks the Forgeholme Escorts or impedes their taking of Dalagorn or Durge are KILLING BLOW ACTIVE. [COMBAT: Forgeholme Escort]
If the Dwarves defeat Dalagorn and Durge, tehy will take them to Forgeholme - Proceed to Scene 2.1.
If the Dwarves are defeated, sentence in absence is passed (see previous Scene).

2.1 - Forgeholme: A Trial

Narrative
The Dwarves Escort you back to Forgeholme, where a great throng of Dwarves awaits to see Dalagorn and Durge brought to justice.
Scene Notes
At lay on the crowd should be chit chatting loudly among each other. One Dwarf is the "Arbitrator"; the players have already been judged guilty, and their punishment decided. Their statements are only a matter of record. It would require an extreme circumstance for the Arbitrator to waive the already decided upon punishment, but it is possible, at narrator discretion.

"Dalagorn, Angori, current resident of Jastery, you have committed crimes against Forgeholme and all Dwarves who owe allegiance to it. No less than ten witnesses, including the Regent, Thorhad Stoneshield, and the Council of Elders, did hear you proclaim "I'm bringing an army of dekis"; and further, referred to the Uordeq, Durge, as "your Uordeq". What say you in your defense?"

"Durge, Uordeq, current resident of Jastery, you have committed crimes against Forgeholme and all Dwarves who owe allegiance to it. No less than ten witnesses, including the Regent, Thorhad Stoneshield, and the Council of Elders, did witness you defile the body of the deceased Elder Boftar Ironheart. In addition to the insult of being an Uordeq in the first place. What say you in your defense?"

Wait for the players to come up with a responses and then continue to adlib roleplay. The player accused should have the most floor and the Arbitrator will want to hear what they have to say first. Any comments from those there will only be listened to if the accused gave them permission.

BOTH DALAGORN AND DURGE: LEFT TO YOUR FATE (serves as being executed).

DURGE ONLY: If she does not show remorse, and offer apology for her actions, she will be FLAGGED (if not flagged already).

ATTEMPTING TO FIGHT OUT OF FORGEHOLME: LEFT TO YOUR FATE.

NOTE: Submitting to punishment means that the players are not subject to the earlier sentence in absence, but they will still be watched carefully anytime they are in Dwarven lands.
