This may be a dumb question, but since class actions don't cost anything to learn, is there a particular point to making you individually "learn" each of them during character creation that I overlooked? I realize there is a limit to how many you may *prepare* at a time, but should they not just be all added automatically as "known" when you level in the appropriate class? Or is this one of those "learn between events" things that is only showing up all at once because it's the initial creation?
Also, for the purposes of learning the caster system I would find it *incredibly* useful to have a single page that listed all the spells and verbals for a class in one place. Or maybe we can have something printed out for the playtest?

Sorry, Jessi; it seems that Drupal won't let you make the link. I'll see what I can do about that.
Casey, the link she was trying to show you was to the downtime activity rules. It is a system that will (hopefully) be going into place shortly before the first event. Even when it does, though, starting characters will have the ability to pick and choose as many or as few starting actions as they like. It will only be after you've attended your first game that downtime goes into effect.
I've actually been thinking of reworking the class pages to list actions in block format as they would appear on your character sheet. I'll see what I can do about getting that working for you. ;)

Alright, I have the modified action listings working. You may notice that a lot of actions don't have verbals yet. That's because we haven't made all of them. If you're interested in suggesting some, I wrote up a few spell verbal guidelines for everyone's reference.

Ah, so that's what all that business was about...well that makes more sense now. I guess my poor brain is just experiencing site navigation failure. Thanks guys!
Oh also, eensy bit OT here, but since I am trying a wizard in the absence of alchemist...
To use a wizard action, is the format for casting properly [say verbal] [state effect] [throw packet]? I didn't see any guidelines on the valid amount of time between verbal and packet release, and/or whether the effect has to be said before the packet is thrown or at all. I will allow that I may just have not looked in the right place to find this info!

The alchemist needs some more work before it goes into play, but I do want it to happen. Don't worry; I'll keep you in mind for playtesting them when the time comes. ;)
The proper format for casting a spell is to say the verbal, then throw the packet while declaring the effect. It the effect comes a little before or after the packet, that's fine, so long as they're generally concurrent. This is similar to the way a fighter might declare the effect as his or her weapon is in mid-swing.
Don't worry; you didn't miss anything. I don't believe the rules make it clear how long you can hold a packet. I'll try to find a place to put it, but it's going to be along the lines of three seconds or so after the verbal, or after the last packet in a multi-packet action.

Not a dumb question. Basically the only limiting factors for learning actions is time and a teacher. A starting character can walk in knowing all their level appropriate actions but once you start playing the character, you have to use the downtime between events to learn new actions and skills.
After the first event, you will be able to create a list of your downtime activities which could include learning new skills or actions, or using your trade skills to get components or money.
To learn a new action after you have starting playing a character you will also need a teacher or you can try and research the action on your own but that takes longer and you run the risk of botching and facing some negative backlash.
You can find out more about learning actions here.
I'll talk to Thad about spell lists and see what we can do.
