The wizard Rune wonders around the Library in the late afternoon sun. As it does, it pulls volumes on various skills and professions from the shelves and sets them down on a table near the middle of the room. On this table also sits stacks of requisition papers for housing, guild halls, and other such documents and instructions.
"Docents," echos around the library, reverberating from the golem."This one has need of you."
Feeling the rumble of the golem's voice as it echoed through the tower, Althena raised her head from the tome she was studying. Frowning, she rose, and left small reading room, finding said golem, along with Marloff and Peleus, in the main Library. Taking a seat next to the empyrean, the healer states, "What is your need, Rune?"
Huffed a bit as the resounding voice of Rune echoed through the tower. The Dwarven runesmith had been spending much more time within its walls of late, having actually taken up more permanent lodging in one of the rooms. Leaving a runestone half completed, Esgir got up and went to find the room the others had gathered in.
Poppy feels the tower shake grumbling something under her breathe. The fae stuffs some of the books she was studying into a pouch on hip before heading towards the source of the rumbling. Fluttering into the room she scans it making note of the other docents."Yes, Rune?" The fae asked a flatness in her voice
Swift emerges from the Arcanarium with a smell of sulfur and lamp oil. "One moment Master Rune!" The ixifar hasitly retreated back in the enchantment room where an erie blue glow eminated. There is a loud pop and a sound like a deflating ballon.
Blue feathers in tow, Swift enters the main library with a rolled up map under one arm. "It appears you have quite a pile of proffesion information there Master Rune. What are you planning to do?"
Weylyn was sitting at his desk looking over a collection of maps. When rune called out both his ears perked up before he stood and made his way out of his quarters heading towards the main hall. Seeing the other decents already gathered he hustled a little to catch up "What is it you need, Rune-san?" he asked stretching to releave the cramps that came from sitting for too long.
Rune nods at each of the Docents as they assemble, and then stands at ease. "Two matters to attend to. First, the final draft of the Accords is ready to submit town as a whole. We will do so next mest (Saturday, open play) during the midday mealtime. Also, this one would like to continue the education of new adventurers. This one will most likley be occupied with the preprations and final delegations for the implementation of the Accords and will need a team of proxies to take it's place. This one would like at least 2 Docents to be available at all times (For meta reasons, i cant say friday night, but friday night) to collect and educate the new adventurers as they come in. The team will need to have a comprehensive knowledge of the varous professions and trade skills available to folk, as well as getting housing set up. In addition, the teams will need to have at least a basic understanding of how various adventurers..." the golem pauses, "..adventure? This one lacks a suffuciant word in this language"
(Basically, I am running content friday night, but the newbie colleged Rune did last season really seemed to help people figure out professions, item/equipment aquisition, and basic RP. The teams wont really need to cover how combat mechanics go down, because Chris will have taken care of that. The housing stuff is the hook for explaining that newbie dont have to join up with a guild to have a home. Also, within that, explain how Forum RP links in with On-site RP, as well as PM RP. Many newbies will want to know how thier class/path progress down the line, and some of the boons/downfalls of those builds. It is not our objective to shoehorn them into the power-killer builds myself and others are o so fond of. We attract all kinds at Orn, and we should show them there are many ways to play the game)
I have commitments to the 'Den of Dragons' on that eve, but, will make myself available to show the new folks to their homes and explain some of the chat RP Dos and Don'ts. Talk on future skills and builds can also be done at that time.
I might suggest that one-on-one with these new adventurers may work well, with a follow up talk with another , would add depth to the knowledge doled out without argumentative moments, that could serve to confuse ones mind and memory."
Glancing over at her lover, Althena nods. "I will be with Marloff that eve," she explains as she glances over at the golem, rolling her shoulders a bit. "I expect I shall be available at any time afterwards, however, should any have need. Perhaps those of us who can should make certain that we are open to any questions any younglings may have." She gives a slight shrug as she finishes and settles back into her chair.
Ohren rolls out from a pile of books he had taken a nap under. He blinks a few times at the Golem and the other gathered. The Grarl had only heard a little bit of what was going on but he chimes in.
"I could teached dems to get eated... As long as I gets to eated dem..."
He grins and gives a thumbs up to Rune.
Peleus stands, "I have a fondness for training those in need and wish to volunteer myself for such a task provided guidelines and a core curriculum."
(Friday I monster but I'm down for Saturday. I think all of us are den dutie on Friday. But I'll change it if I need too.)
After casting the Grarl a sharp look, Althena turns her attention back to the golem. "The thought of assisting any newcomers is a wonderful and productive idea, Rune," she says quietly. "However, we Docents tend to always be on the move or working on one project or another. And," she glances around at those gathered. "quite a few of us already take it upon ourselves to assist those new to Jastrey. I know that I benefitted greatly from meeting a few herein," she offers a small smile to Poppy and a nod Malkonius, "when I first arrived. As far as the Accords go," she turns her attention back to the de facto leader of their guild. "I will most certainly be available to assist with the finalization of the Accords."
Thimble found herself ease dropping just a few rows away from the gathering of Docents, in the section dealing with manners of tailoring. She set a book on intermediate level stitching back in its proper spot before timidly approaching the group. "I don't mind giving you guys some help on telling any new arrivals how Jastery works or the different types of adventurers there are since it sounds like the Docents will be down a few Friday evening."
I also have commitments on Friday night. However I will be available all day Saturday for any of the new adventurers. I enjoy interacting with new members to the community. I will most definitely be around for your posting of the Accords.
I look very forward to seeing to how the town population will take the Accords.
Swift nods. "I should be around for both events. Unless something attracts my attention elsewhere."
Drifts of smoke slowly enter the room coming from the Arcanium. "Ummm," says Swift uneasily. "I'll be right back in a moment." The ixifar runs out of the room towards the smoking source.
'Always at the ready Rune. What need do you have of us?'
Marloff starts across the room, adjusting tombs on shelves and brushing away the occasional cob web as he makes his way to the table that Rune has cluttered with books and loose papers.
'Why has housing gotten your attentions this fine day?'
