So am I correct in assuming that Alchemy is another route to take besides being a warlock? Some of the descriptions talks about it. I am intrigued....

That is correct. The alchemist will be another restricted class that may become available soon. As with other restricted classes, of course, you'll have to find a way to become one in play.
That being said, much like warlocks, alchemists have something of a pre-existing reputation that can be used as in-play knowledge. Specifically, they're masters of alchemy, the pseudo-scientific magical discipline of manipulating substances.
More information will become available in play once the class is ready to be play tested. Anybody with a real interest in becoming an alchemist, speak now to be included in the plot line. ;)
