Auri walks inside

"Hey Nevara, I saw your letter in the tavern. Thank you for getting this place back up and running. I noticed that you said you'd only be staying for the next month or so; how come? Is there something else in another town or shard that you need to attend to?"

When you enter, you find Nevara standing on a chair in front of an open window, hanging up a bundle of herbs to dry. When you begin speaking, she turns to you.

"No I am simply staying long enough to pay off my debt for your actions at the Abbey. However, considering the burning of the grove, I believe that I share a very different... set of goals than the majority of you new comers so I doubt that I could stay here too long without there being a significant conflict and as I'm outnumbered..." she shrugs her shoulders. "I can only assume my safest course of action would be to move on."

She gestures toward a small table with a three chairs around it as she crosses the room to sit.

"I don't believe I asked your name the other day Empyrean. I apologize for my rudeness, I had a lot on my mind."

Sabian enters just in time to hear move on " Move on why we all just got here. Is Scorch on his way back or something?

Auri sits down across from Nevara.

"My name's Auri. Indeed, it was a bit hectic having Scorch raiding the temple. I lost track of you afterwards until you posted something in the tavern, but I'm glad things have settled down somewhat and you're safe. How do your goals differ from others?"

Nevara looks up.

"No I was referring to my plans. I have not heard anything more about the dragon."

Nevara looks back to Auri.

"Well, Auri, while I am happy to use the resources around me I tend to leave as much as I can intact as opposed to burning down half the forest like this group did. And while I was not able to get the specifics of what happened in the grove I'm quite sure I would not have agreed with or participated in quote 'an act of great evil, barbarism and desecration that destroyed something pure and sacred.' I don?t know that I have ever seen the Glade Mistress so upset but she would not tell me much about the situation except that it was done by a large group of the settlers. So, I will repay you all for what you did on my behalf but like I said I am not very comfortable with your other exploits."

" Well I assure you that I had nothing to do with that and will do what I can to find out who did it and why it happened. Do you have any other info on what went on in the grove?"

Gecel storms into the den, his beard shifting from side to side.

"Ya cana go Nevara! How do ya expect all these children ta survive with out ye! They made a mistake clearly, but ya cana believe that they won't be fix'n it. As fer what they have done to tha east side of town someone must be daft."

Gecel grabs up his axe and stands beside Nevara. "Clearly they cana all be bad, just miss guided or touched by tha maddening wind."

"As with many groups wandering into a strange, pillaged town, we might have exceeded our boundaries with some acts, but from then on we tried mending the town. Fighting off gnolls, saving townspeople, and confronting Scorch himself as you witnessed were among many acts of kindness. We weren't sure what was going on when we first came and it took a bit to see what needed to be done in order to get things straightened out in and outside of town."

Nevara starts to respond to the human but stops at Gecel's rapid entry.

"Peace Forge Master. There is no call for such excitement. You do not believe that a month is long enough for this group to get settled?"

She looks back and forth between the dwarf and the human. "I do not know enough to parcel out blame. All Firelily told me was that a large group of the new comers was involved. I am not so sure I wish to know all the details. The visible results are upsetting enough."

Nevara rises from her seat, retrieves the chair she had been standing on earlier and dusts it off before replacing it at the table. She takes her seat and motions the human and dwarf to the two empty chairs.

She then looks at the two new town members. "Gecel may be correct and your words may be comforting but I will have to wait and see how the town behaves before I commit to anything more than I have promised."

Gecel catches his breath from the walk. His face is flushed and his ears are red from anger.

"I dona think it is. Many have died just in the last few days." Gecel huffs. "Can ya just abandon them like that? We'll find the guilty party and bring justice upon them. Firelily will want that, will she not?" Gecel says his breath returning to him as he takes the offered seat.

"Gecel dear you'll have to take up the Justice question with Firelily like I said she was her usual vague self and I do not know what she might have in mind for this group as far as inquiries or retaliation.

How many of the group have been lost?"

"Sounds fair enough. What are you looking to accomplish while you stay?"

"Where are you all in your training? I am assuming you are both Disciples, yes?"

Sabian takes the offerd chair and says " Yes we are both Disciples and as far as where I am in my training, I'm stumped I can't seem to diagnos what may be wrong with a fallen comrad."

"Myself and Sabian are. We are currently without a teacher, which was partly why I came to see you."

The wizard Eonai enters, and gives a nod to the assembled townsfolk. She glances around as if expecting to see someone else in the building, but does not interrupt the conversation.

"Hey there, Eonai. Care to join us or were you busy looking for someone?"

Sabian nods at Eonai as she enters then stands "Would you like to have a seat we where just talking about learning a few things from Nevara here."

"I thought Numeris might be here...I was hoping he'd feel like passing some of his knowledge on to a fellow wizard. But this seems to be where the party is anyway, so I believe I will join you until he appears. There are some other things I wish to begin to learn. Perhaps I will learn some of them from you all...it sounded as if you were having a heated discussion as I was coming down the path just now."

She looks to the human, "Sabian? I can teach you that easily."

She turns to the Empyrean, "What is it you wish to learn and what was the other reason you came Auri?"

"I came to ask if you knew anything about tailoring. The other reason was to simply see if you were doing well. I had brought you back to consciousness the other day, but we parted ways shortly after."

" It would be greatly appreciated, I hate to run but I have some business to take care of I will stop by later Nevara. Auri, Eonai I'll see you around have a good evening all"

Nevara nods to Eonai as she sits. "Numeris went to the tower to see if he could salvage anything but he should be returning directly. I'm afraid most conversations with a dwarf seem much more heated than they actually are. "

Looking to Auri again. " Yes, I have some small skill in tailoring and I could teach you the basics."

She nods to Sabian as he leaves. "Travel safely."

Eying the newcomers nervously and listening quietly, quite unlike him, Gecel inclines his head at Nevara once the word Dwarf is spoken.

"We dwarfs are a passionate people! I cana help but get riled when I want ta stop a friend and needed ally from leav'n her home. Do ya think that yer wizard friend would be stay'n if'n it weren't fer you?"

Gecel stands as Sabian leaves. "Mind yer steps lad." he says as he bows.

Numeris walks in carrying what appears to be a large pile of partially-burned documents. "Oh, hello there," he says as he spies the gathered townsfolk, and proceeds to a table at the back of the room where he begins sorting through papers and mumbling to himself in concentration.

Eonai raises an eyebrow when she sees the pile of paper. "Is that all that made it back from the tower?" she asks Numeris. "Would you like any help sorting through it?"

A loud bang is heard outside in the direction of the Warrior's Hall. Gecel cringes, his face flushes in apparent frustration.

"Damn it all, I'd wager that damn training dummy fell over again. I shall be in tha training hall if'n ya need me."

Gecel stands and bows to Navara and the others as he exits quickly, heading in the direction of the Warrior's Hall.

Without looking up, Numeris responds to Eonai. "Yes, or all I could find at any rate. Please, feel free to pull up a chair. I've got historical texts in this pile, grimoires in that one, and journals over there," he says, indicating different stacks.

After a moment's consideration, he retrieves another stack of papers and hands them to Eonai. "Oh, and I believe you mentioned something about training. These should be of interest to you at your present ability. They're some of my old notes. We can discuss the missing details shortly, but these should be enough to get you started."

She takes the papers and thanks him. "I'll study these tonight." Carefully picking up some of the singed papers in the pile of historical documents and examining them she says, "I have a little skill at scribing. Perhaps I could copy some of the more basic texts onto new paper and bind them if you don't object. I know there are other people in town besides me who would be interested in whatever knowledge you have to share."

"I don't suppose you have anything in here about that dragon? Or know why he's chosen Jastrey to harass?"

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Numeris considers for a moment. "Scorch? I'm afraid there's not much to tell. He's been around since before the Shattering. And I don't think he has any progeny. As for what he wants with Jastrey, I can only speculate. By his activities, I would guess that he's searching for something, perhaps a treasure for whomever he serves. Exactly what that is, I couldn't say, but I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't be good for town if he found it."
