The Bazaar is Live

I'm pleased to announce that the online marketplace, , is now open for business. Here, you can browse for treasure on sale by various merchanting NPCs as well as your fellow PCs and buy it with the click of a button.

Of course, your character can sell treasure right along side of everyone else. Just go into your character's inventory and click the Sell link next to the treasure you'd like to sell. After you select the number you'd like to sell and the price you'd like to sell them at, they'll appear in the Bazaar as well.

I plan to add more functionality shortly, including the ability to sort the list of items in the Bazaar or browse by treasure type or seller. There's also only one merchant at the time of this post, a limitation which I plan to rectify in the next day or two. In the mean time, it's working well enough to get the job done, so have at it and let me know what you guys think!

Oh, and in case I forgot mention it, with this latest advancement for the treasure system, there will be no item check-in going forward. Here is how the process will go from now on:

  1. Before each event you attend, us hard-working logistics folks will check out and print out all of your character's treasure. We'll be using the RSVP system to determine whose treasure to print. This means that you must RSVP at least a few days in advance of an event in order to receive your character's treasure at check-in. It also means that all of your treasure will disappear from your online inventory after we've processed logistics, so don't worry if it mysteriously vanishes the day before an event.
  2. When you check in, you will receive your character sheet along with one or more sheets of treasure. You will need to cut the tags out of these sheets to use them in play. Don't worry; we'll provide scizzors for everyone to use.
  3. Note that treasure can only exist in one place at one time, either online or in play. Because of this, you must check your treasure back in at the end of an event in order to receive it online. This is as simple as depositing your character sheet and all of your treasure into a baggie at the plot cabin before you leave. As with the scizzors, the baggies will be provided.
  4. Within a day or two of the end of the event, the treasure you checked in will be available in your character's online inventory, where you can give it away, sell it, enchant it, turn it into equipment, or any of the other cool things you can now do online.
  5. Rinse and repeat.

I've extended the functionality of the Bazaar. Now, when you view a specific type of treasure in the Treasure Trove, you will see a list of all treasure of that type that is currently for sale in the Bazaar. For example, if you're in the market for common restorative herbs, you can browse to their entry on the Treasure Trove and see a mini-Bazaar that only features common restorative herbs. You can do the same thing on character profiles as well, allowing you to see treasure being sold by a particular character. For example, if you'd like to browse the wares of Drannen the Apothecary, you will now see a list of treasure he has for sale on his character profile page.

I've also added a few other miscellaneous enhancements, like the "Used to Create" and "Used to Perform" entries under crafting materials and ritual components. I'll probably be tackling sorting functionality next unless someone has a more specific request.

Thad you are the shiznitshibang! Everyone. Appreciate the Code Master.

Hail to the Code Master!
All jokes aside. Your doing a great job an we appreciate it.

Thanks, guys.  It's always nice to be appreciated. :)

On a side note, I've made some additional enhancements today.  You can now sort all bazaar lists by treasure name, type, seller, or price.  Just click the appropriate column headers, once to sort low to high and twice to sort high to low.

I also fixed a glitch where simple treasure was not correctly displaying its sale status in your character's inventory.  If your treasure is on sale, you should now see a notice saying "(X on sale for Y gold)" next to treasure that's up for sale.

There are still some more refinements that I'm planning, but the system seems to be working pretty well now.  Please let me know if you guys have any feature requests.

Not that I think anyone but Nick or I will want to, but I've just made it possible to discard treasure in your character's inventory.  This works exactly as it sounds; you are permanently ridding yourself of the item that is discarded.  Just click the "Discard" button next to the treasure you want to discard and fill out the short form that follows.
