On the night of the full moon, a strange light can be seen rising above the woods several miles away. From this distance, it is impossible to make out more than a tiny, impossibly brilliant mote of light that illuminates the countryside as brightly as the moon itself. Once it appears, it hangs stationary in the clouds, and is even visible in the same spot the following day.
The following morning, strange polychromatic clouds begin to appear from the direction of the light. Little more than stray whisps of color, they are nonetheless distinct and vibrant enough to notice.
Staring at the moon and counting the stars as a nightly ritual before bed, Wreynn notices the bright light off in the distance. Shielding his eyes with the brim of his hat as not to look directly at it, he remembers an old passage that he read in a book not too long ago. It was something about everwood, and a fire that burns for days, a bright light, and... "They didn't," Wreynn mutters to himself, "that must have been why Corvax was slinking around the tavern with the cauldron I was planning to use to make more candy for the fairies."
"Well, its now or never." Grabbing his belongings Wreynn puts on his jacket adjusts his hat. Dashing off into the woods, he curses to himself counting the ways this could go wrong. "The least I can do is make sure they don't mess this up by trying to do anything foolish. Something tells me one of those mages may be involved too."
A pair of wide eyes peeps out of the cabin window, watching Wreynn at first but then blinking and diving away at the bright light. When Ripper leans up again and notices Wreynn gone she immediately crawls back to bed and pokes her sister in the ribs.
"Uncle Wreynn runned off again. Wanna come?"
Still wearing her pajamas, hair all a-skitter, the fairy pops out the front door and bounds barefoot after the Urdek. About three steps from the porch she activates the phosphorescence in her skin and lights up like a glittery beacon.
"Sloooow down!"
Hearing the fairy Wreynn misses a step checking over his shoulder. Seeing nothing, he faces forward and continues the run not knowing exactly how far he's going to have to go.
"Uncleeee Wreyyyynnnn...... NO fair! A head start is CHEETING!"
"Crap..." Wreynn curses, "which one is it? It could never hurt to have the druid around in a time like this. My luck its Ripper, and she's as likely to stab me in the leg at night as she is to be of much use." Turning around to see a bright pink glowball running haphazardly after him, he knew exactly who it was. "Ripper, go back and get your sister, for once I'm not trying to run away, we just have to hurry!"
A squeal pierces the woods, followed by the sound of what probably was the giddy fairy bouncing up and down and clapping.
Ripper hitches up her bloomers so that they won't get tangled up around her knees and darts back to the cabin at a pace that was usually reserved for Stirrups getting frenzied. Outside she hops up and down, waving her arms to try and be seen through the windows.
"Aaaarie-kins!! Uncle Wreynn is goin' somewhere and we're invitated! He said it's a hairy! It might be break-fast!"
The fairy pauses at that, looking a little lost for a few seconds.
"Oo oo! Bring my sword pleeeeeeease? I'll rub your feets later!"
Sir Stiers * hears a loud noise out side his cabin het gets his minions to get him in his amor with sword drawn and shield ready he steps out and see's the fairys talking then looks in to the sky and says dam fairys makeing all this noise this early and starting fires i will let them wimpy mages take care of his one
