The Blood Bears

Kresh sits in the tavern looking around for strong warriors willing to join the clan

The tavern door opens and in walks Cadeyrn with axe in hand. The stout dwarf walks to one of the many table and takes a seat. His axe made a loud thud as he sat it on the table.

A dark shadow moves silently through the tavern a small beam of light hits the creatures face. Pale white and almost skeletal, the undead woman takes a seat in the darkest corner of the tavern, her cloak is draped around her body to hide herself. She pulls out a small flask and inhales the sweet smell of the liquid inside, she then helps herself to a sip from the flask.

Kresh eyes the dwarf and the new women. he then looks around the room at all the other people. none seem 2 b able 2 lift an axe except the dwarf and the women. kresh calls out "ALL WHO ARE STRONG AND WISH TO JOIN THE BLOOD BEARS MEET ME OUTSIDE". He then makes eye contact with both the dwarf and the women....... Kresh leaves the bar.

Cadeyrn accepting such an invitation, grunted under his breath. He picked up the tankard of ale that he was enjoying and drank the rest quickly, wiping the foam from his mustache once he finished. The dwarf looked over at his trusty axe. He picked it up and rested it's massive head on his shoulder. He stood and began strocking his beard as he walked toward the tavern door.

The creeping tick tocks whisper through the air and the thud of boots get closer. A silhouette with glowing green veins rooting through exposed skin was waiting outside. Matilda D. Mattlock steps forward towards the people leaving the tavern. Upon her shoulder rested a man-made eight legged creature munching on what looked to be lunch with nothing left to finish but a tail. "You looking for members?" She asked giving a smile of insanity.

Pelle strolls in the tavern, his face still wrapped in his makeshift burlap mask, just in time to hear the man yell something about strength before leaving. "Well, isn't he the loud type," Pelle said as he moved aside to let both Kresh and the dwarf past. The riven began to walk towards a table that sat across from the door when his eyes caught the form of the skeletal woman in the corner. "And things get even more interesting," he says as he changes course towards the womans table. "I hope you don't mind if I take a seat," Pelle says as he claims a spot across from the woman.

The woman's eyes shoot up at the Riven as he takes a seat. Her bright golden eyes narrow and a sigh escapes her lips. She watches him intently and takes another sip from her flask. "Can I help you?" her voice is low and dark.

Pelle sits back in his seat, seeming to relax into his spot. "What? You mean besides a friendly conversation with a stranger you've never met? I suppose not." The crude mask he wore seemed to shift as he gave a slight grin underneath his mask.

The woman reached for the hood of her cloak and removed it from her head, revealing her shiny purplish pink hair. Her eyes still fixed on the Riven she spoke once more "Well I'll assume no matter what I say you are going to stay here and try for conversation. I'm Arys, and you are?"

A slight tinkle of amusement showed in the rivens eyes. Being careful to keep his hood over his head, Pelle carefully unwrapped the burlap from off his face. "My name is Pelle and I suppose you're right. I don't think there is much you couldsay that would get me moving. This spot is too comfortable." The riven's stitched up face was barely visible from within his cloak. Fresh skin was sewn togther from a line that lead downward through his left eye and the slightest sign of crusted blood had formed along the seam. "You can't imagine how itchy burlap can be,"he said as he slid the cloth in the bag on his belt.

"No, I suppose I couldn't. I haven't seen you around before, you're not from here are you?" a slight accent can be detected as she speaks. She reaches for her flask once more and takes another sip, and a smile crosses her face.

Pelle pulled his mirror from his bag and began admiring his reflection. "I suppose you wouldn't have. I tend to drift about, going here or there. Wherever the winds take me I suppose." He touches his stitches, brushing away the light crust that formed in an attempt to stay neat.

Arys eyes narrow once more, she scoffs at the Riven admiring himself "how'd you manage to make it here? Anyone in their right mind would stay away from this place, that's why I want to leave." her tone is dark and almost cruel.

"Believe me, it wasn't MY first choice neither. The sooner we head out the better." The riven glanced over the top of his mirror at the revenant woman. "I expect the group that I traveled here with is going to be leaving soon. They had few issues with myself coming along for the ride, perhaps we can secure you a spot as well. It's not like you'd be too taxing on the food stores." The riven gave a slight chuckle at his quip as he went back to picking, not stopping till he was completely dure he was clean.

Whiping the blood from her sword from the last battle she came from, she walks up to the outside of the tavern to see Kresh gathering people outside the tavern. Lillth walks up to him and says," Why hello Kresh! What do we have here?"

"I guess my dear we have people who wish 2 join the clan"  Kresh sits on the ground and lights his pipe.

Cadeyrn looks at Kresh and says " Well barbarian are we going to do this or are we just going to stand around and watch you smoke?"

Looks around at the few that showed up, and smirks. "Good we could always use more people apart of the Blood Bears." Walks off to the side. Sits on a rock while watching from the side, as she tends to her sword and sheild more.

a fuan walks out of the woods stuffing the rest of what was in her hand into one of her many pockets and plops a seat next to lilth. "your sword seems pleased with the business you've done." she then looks around at the fimilar affairs. "guess its that time again, huh? hope this lot is better then the last." she then takes out a journel and takes inventory.

Kresh outs his pipe. "All that wish to join the clan must learn and follow the creed... rule I: we do not kill each other, we have enough enemies. rule II: we do not steal from each other. people outside the clan are fair game if you feel you must do so. and rule III: when called to battle you join the fight. we work together and fight together. If you can not follow the Creed please leave." Kresh waits to see who goes and who stays......

The homunuculi's curiousity takes the advantage of him and goes into the tavern for the first time he is a bit nervous so he sits down quietly to see whats going on

Lillth smiles as she sees her old friend Freya heading towards her. As she answers Freya back saying"I do what I can to help out." As the thought of going out again fighting made her laugh. "oh how i do enjoy a good fight though, and you should consider going out with me one night." As she sit quietly and watches Kresh from a distance.

the fuans ears point towards lilth, she then looks up at her "i fear that if i went out with you at night that i would find what you are killing something that does not need to be killed and one of us would not return." she gets in a little closer and whispers "i've heard the screams" she leans back out, looks around a bit. "its not that i dont trust you, we have faught along side for quiet some time. so i trust you to have my back as i do your's. prehaps i will go out with you one night, since we are traveling to new places we shouldnt go out alone any how. i would also like to discover these unknown lands."

The gruff Dwarf had been striding towards the tavern when he overheard the group near the tavern. He paused, a wry grin spreading across his bearded features. Hectapped the flat edge of his massive blade on one of his metal pauldrons and cleared his throat as if to draw attention to himself, "aye, no killin one another and no theivin' either, sounds like laws of common decency. Ones ye best be followin t'ward anyone aboard our vessel" he offered a cracked smile, "what are ye offerin' the lads and lasses ye seek to sign yer oath?" He asked, a mild curiosity at best.

He glanced over the gathering with an unknowable smile. "I've fought beside several of ye, one of ye is kin even if ye fraternize with some unsavory types" He gave a little chuckle, "And I'd bleed fer the lot of ye, not because ye signed a cursed oath, nay, cause it's the right thing ter do. Be ye blood bear, crimson coraire, stormbringer or Korkron mercenary, we're the new crew o'the lucky dice and we sail astride the tides of damnation against an immortal who would see us fall. Should we fail we may live just long enough to see the end of everything we've ever loved. Put these petty labels behind ye, we are merely cogs in the meatgrinder of destiny"

"Well said Master Dwarf, we fight for the same cause, but I look to the future when this is all said and done. The Creed is the law of MY people, the Black Lions, when i served them and my father." you can see pain in Kreshs eyes from saying "Father". " It never failed them. As for what the clan offers is more then a group.... it is a family stronger then just ally." You hear truth in Kreshs word. "I am willing to die for my family."

The sounds of colliding rocks reaches those gathered as the human finishes his speech. Rune's markings glow as he golem walks closer to Kresh, his stones grinding in protest at every step. "This one finds the human's thoughts to be respectable." says the golem as he directs his gaze to the novice adventurers. "This one will join your group. Teach this one the ferocity of your clan, and this one will lend his knowledge of the arts and the wisdom of his stone to you." The golem's staff is missing, seemingly replaced by a bastard sword seated in a scabbard across his back. It's pommel resembles a hand wrapped around a hammer head.

Kresh looks up at the stone Golem. "All are welcome to the clan be you man or women. as long as you have the will to protect your family as well as your new family"

Cadeyrn steps forward and looks at Kresh and says "Well I'm in lad. Do we sign in ink or blood?"

Kresh cuts his hand and holds it out....."blood with blood..... till Primo Victora.... Brother"

Cadeyrn impressed by Kresh's honor, slid his hand down the blade of his axe, cutting it. The thick, dark Dwarven blood streamed down his hand and a single drop fell to the ground. Cadeyrn extendes his hand and shakes Kresh's hand. " Blood with blood lad".

Matilda D Mattlock watched the dwarf be the first to seal the pact, the only reminder of her presence was the ticking, her mechanical heartbeat, coming from the clock in the center of her chest. Taking a small dagger out of the pouch she kept on her hip, she sliced her palm in one simple motion. She watched her green, almost shimmering, blood seep through. "Family huh? Seems like we all could use one," the homunculus said looking up from her palm to the barbarian and the dwarf. Mattlock stored away the dagger and stepped towards them, holding out her hand as the blood creeped towards her finger tips.

Kresh looks at the wound and ask "Is it safe 2 mix my blood with yours?"

Matilda giggles. "Why yes. If anything, a decent amount of your's may rust my gears,"she said, hand still extended.

"very well". Kresh holds out his hand and grips Matildas hand. " Blood with Blood.... till Premo Victora..... Sister."

Matilda's hand tightens firmly on Kresh's, the gears in her joints cranking into place. "Til Premo Victora."

The golem looks at it's hand with a blanks stare. Rune then -conjures- a dagger and slams it into his hand. The knife wedges itself under one of the stones, and Rune pops the rock out of place, causeing a wispy blue smoke to leak forth. "The one does not bleed. and hopes this will suffice." says the golem as he offers his hand to the human.

Kresh grips the stone hand.... "Blood with Blood.... till Primo Victora..... Brother"

The Dwarf offered Kresh a solemn nod, subtleties not lost to his keen eye. "Aye, and I wouldn't stand in the way'o that, just see to it that the lot of ye don't lose sight'o the matters at hand. Oh, an keep the thievin and killin to a minimum where citizens of Jastrey and those aboard the lucky dice are concerned, we'll be needin' all the fight we can muster when that day finally dawns". He shot that cracked smile towards Kresh once more, "until then my blade howls in defense of you and your's as much as any other member'o town" he nodded again before making his way on up towards the tavern, "you lot be well, I'll be watchin, always am"

Pelle glanced over to the group bleeding all over eachother. "What a waste," Pelle sighed to the revenant woman. "If they wanted to cut themselves up so bad, I'd gladly accept a finger or two." The riven stashed his mirror back into his bag. "If you'd like, Miss Arys, I can show you to our ship." He began to stand up, pushing his chair out behind him. "Or you can stay here. It's your decision." Pelle offered a slight bow as he departed, walking past the group doing their blood ceremony.

The Revenant woman shot her attention to the bleeding group and her eyes grew wide and a sour look moved across her face. She then glance back to the Riven "I'd be delighted." she pulled her hood back over her head and her face is once again barely noticeable, she stands and follows Pelle out.

Ablelar watches Pelle and Arys leave the tavern and debates on if he should leave. he looks at the group cutting themselves, then looks at the door. he finally lets a deep breath out from his chilled lungs and stands up he fidgets with his rifle and asks Kresh a question, "hello stranger, my name is Ablelar.",  I saw that you are recruiting clanmates could I possibly join you?

"all are welcome in the clan as long as you can can follow the creed". Kresh hold out his wounded hand "blood with blood.... til Primo Victora... Brother"

Lillth wonders over to kresh after he offers his blood again. Seeing him getting weak from the blood loss. Places one hand on the back of kresh shoulder and shows the other cut hand in front of kresh offering herself to take over for a bit as kresh rests.

"Once again Lillth you know me better then myself. Thank you." Kresh wraps his hand up with a some cloth from his shirt, he then walks 2 a tree and rests.

Ablelar pulls out a dagger from his sheath, looks at kresh and says "I accept your creed and your friendship" he cuts his hand bleeding a green liquid and accepts his handshake.

"Blood with blood....til Premo Victora.......Brother"

Lillth stands there waiting for the next person ready to join up with the blood bears.

After watching events transpire while writing a song in the back of the tavern the far decides this may be inspiration for future songs and approaches the group.
"Greetings you seem to be quite the messy bunch." he states trying to gauge their initial reactions to his presence.
