Can you multi class?  I am currently a theruge, and I would also like to be a fighter?  is that allowed?

Multiclassing is a very common occurrence among players. It's also strongly suggested by most players to wait to multiclass until you've got your foot, so to speak, solidly in a class and path of your choosing. I'd say wait roughly until you're level 3-4 in that class/path before dabbling in other classes and paths. You can only, however, do one path within a class (someone correct me if I'm wrong in that... Though I'm pretty sure that's the case). But to answer your question, yes, you can multiclass.

That would be correct; your only limitations are one pather per class, and the total xp cap; but aside from that you can mix and match as you wish.

I would argue that level 9 or 10 is the better point to start with the multiclassing. Also, trumps at 11 are fun. The game rewards you for playing a single class long enough.

Well yeah, that would probably be the best time to multiclass, but say for some reason, as a character, you just really want or need to multiclass, I'd say wait until you have at least a path to go with your class and you're comfy with it.

i have always said that getting to level 6 is about the best time.  That way you have the maim action, which sux at lower levels to get hit with.  This allows you to use the maims defensively and then you can jump to other classes and paths without being at the mercy of monsters throwing maims at you.  A lot of people like to dip into fighter and theurge to be able to wear more armor I think, though I am an all out warrior who hasnt multiclassed yet.
