Rasiri makes his way to the tavern in broad daylight and walks up to the tavern and as he gets up to the front door he raises his hand and tears down the sign over the door and tosses it out into the area in front of the tavern. He then walks into the tavern, and from the outside there are is a racket as if someone was tearing the place apart followed occaisonally by an easel or another piece of furniure flying outside and landing in the growing heap.
"Hey Rasiri," Cail calls. "What about this one? It's not that bad.... oh... oh God. Never mind. I see it now." Cail throws a mind boggling portrait out of the door and picks up another. Very crudely drawn, but it had meaning.
"Must be Ohrens," said Cail. "Do you want to keep all of Ohren's paintings," he asked Rasiri.
Inside of the tavern Rasiri stands there and draws his sword slashing and breaking anything that Rizzik has left any sort of mark on. The paintings and benches start to fly out of the tavern as if the were repeled out landing squarely in the pile of firey paintings and "art".
"Let's keep Ohren's there is nothing wrong with them. I kind of like them." Rasiri says to Cail and then walks outside as he finishes up tearing the tavern apart looking for Rizzik's items. then he walks out to the fire. "Cail... LIGHT IT UP! BURN THEM ALL! make sure nothing survives. RIZZIK! YOU SHALL HAVE NO FOOTHOLD IN THIS TOWN!!" Rasiri yells the last part to the sky with a good deal of rage.
(Using the new breath weapon i recieved) Cail walks outside after most of the gutting had been done and shouts, "BY THE MIGHT OF THE STARS, BURN!" *10 fire* He sends a large blue fire ball towards the already small fire making it explode into a mix of green, blue and orange sparks.
"How much more is left Rasiri?"
Katri exits the woods in time to see Cail add another ball of bright blue flame to an already going fire. Her interest is piqued and she approaches the pair and the tavern, "Vhat in the name of Tenaebrus ees goink on here?"
Her voice was mild and she stood to the side with folded arms. Hood and mask drawn up, but her smirk danced in her tired eyes.
"So, ve are burnink Rizzik's thinks then..." She muses. She nods, pulling her mask down around her neck. "Sounds like a good idea to me... Hope ees a desert runnink dry~" [10 fire 10fire 10fire]. Katri aims three fireballs at the pile of burning things that came from within the tavern.
"Nothing," he said as he came back to the present. "I was jsut reminded of something." Cail backs away from the fire and says to himself as an incantation, "By the power within me, I will find you and I will kill you." He smashes the two medium fireballs together creating one big one and then he chucks them at the embers making a whole new blaze. *10 fire 10 fire*
"Now lets finish this," he says.
Katri nods to the pair, but exaustion sets in on the girl and she sinks to the tavern steps, resigning herself to controlling the blaze by throwing ice on large embers or bits of fire that get away from the main pile.
"Find salvation in distress~" [10 fire 10 fire] She put out two bits of wood that had fallen away from the pile. An un-easy look settles on her features...
Finished with her rat, but not quite full, Rivka ventured toward the tavern. She hadn't seen it in about a week, so was somewhat surprised to see the bonfire burning outside the front door.
"You making lunch?" she asked, hoping they were preparing to roast some large animal.
A soft jingle of jailer's keys can be heard coming up the pathway, followed by Akon rounding the bend, seeming to look what the smoke was about, suspicion and a frown upon her freatures. She then sees the crowd, and the various items being burned. "Ah....I was wondering when someone was going to act....I can't say I didn't feel inclined to do the same myself."
"Find salvation in distress~" [10 ice 10 ice 10 ice] Katri put out another large chunk of escaped burning material and shook her head at Rivka, "No, not cooking. Ve are burnink the corpse crafter's leavings.."
Katri sighed and paused [refresh]. "Hello, Lady Nivarian."
"That ees my brother." Katri disreguarded his rude behavior. "At any rate, a drunkard dwarf vith a scraggly beard and not enough sense to fill a tea cup eesn't exactly my idea ohf a good time. And I'd much rather just burn people to their fhaces as opposed stab theem een the back. Poison ees fun though.."
Katri smirked, eyes narrowed. "He ees my brother and he vill tell you the same. Rasiri and Katri Cassitran. He was born an Uordeq to my father and his wife before my own mother. He ees a prince of the Shadelands."
"Find salvation in distress~" [10 ice 10 ice] The sorceress put out two more large embers out, finally turning to look at the dwarf again.
"Then let him speak for himself, princess, it is not often an empyrean is born to an Uorodeq family and a price of the shade lands is a pauper in the light, so why don't you go play that strange game of yours, "hide and go hide" I believe?"
"Ice for the eternal hunt." [channel 3] Folnir coats the burning embers in ice through a continual barrage of cold wind.
Ohren sees smoke over by the tavern becomes concerned. He thinks for a moment or two till it finally clicks. "Da tavern..... MAH PIKTURES!!!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!" Ohren makes a beeline strait to the tavern. He rushes inside to check on his precious art pieces. Seeing that his art hasnt been burned, Ohren sighs in relief. "Please sabe me some of da blank papers, and some paints too. I isnt finished wif da story."
"Veren't you listenink? He vasn't born Empyrean. Vell, he'll tell you. And, een fact, I just played a game of hide and go hide fhor the first time een years... Vith Rasiri." She shrugged.
"Don't put out the whole fire. Eet ees meant to keep burnink. I just don't vant eet to spread beyond the pyre." Katri sighed at him.
"Hope ees a desert runnink dry~" [10 fire 10fire 10fire] She added more flame to the pile of burning things. "Vatch vere that vind goes. Vild Hunt, I presume?"
There was no hiding the bitter disgust and contempt in her voice. She leaned against the rail on the steps, studying him as she once again tried to chase away the looming feeling of something near by and to ignore the echoes of howling wind in her ears. A headache started around her temples. Her eyes showed him as much contempt and distaste as her tone.
Katri's eyes blaze and her voice grows sharp, "You know nothink of savagery. As for beast, you call me an animal, but eet ees you who hunt another person's kind. That ees the vay of a beast, hunting vith no concern for another kind deeferent fhrom your own." Katri got to her feet weakly.
"You presume too much yourself, Dvarf. Eet vas not I that started thees. Eet vas the one you called 'Star-touched' who decided to burn the vork ohf the so-called artist Rizzik." She spat. "Do not theenk yourself above me, fhor even here vhere I haff no title, I know you are no better than me, bearded fhool."
Folnir meets her gaze.
"I'll show you the savagery of your people." He said as he closed his eyes for a moment and concentrated. The air in front of the dwarf forze instantly as ice crystals formed from the humid air before the newly made snow started to take shape in the form of a miniature mountian the sun glinting on it's peak.
"This was my home, Winter-Haven, We were one of the few clans that didn't view magic with distrust our archives were the envy of many libraries, and here we dwelt in peace teaching the humans of the surrounding lands." The mountian shifted shape to show large iron gates near it's base and ice snaked on the ground through the light dusting of snow like roads.
"This however came to ruin when that sickening tribe of Uorodeq came looking for slaves and plunder." the snow formed small humanoid shapes in front of the mountian and icy flames spread from it's iron gates.
"All of our clan were killed or forced to work in the mines, all save my fathers and my brothers." The snow creating the mountian collapsed and reformed itself into tiny dwarf bodies; some were in chains, icy tears streamed down their faces, while some were slain on the ground ice forming itself into pools of blood on their corpses.
"I will find justice." Folnir said as his rage finally broke his concentration and the snow quickly melted in the oppressive heat.
"My apologies to you Dvarf, but one clan does not condemn an eentire race. I vill not deny that my homeland runs on slaves and the trade, but keelink and despisink every Uordeq you see does not get you the revenge you desire. Yes, revenge. Justice does not dictate mindless genocide." Katri replied, feeling little pity, but was sincere in her apology. "Do you even know vhat clan you are searchink fhor? Justice is found fhor the guilty, not fhor others who vere never there."
She looked him up and down, knowing there were many slave trading clans outside of the ones her own clan controlled in ruling the Shadelands. It very well could have been a Cassitran controlled clan, but even then she didn't think she could have felt pity for the revenge bent dwarf. "Vhat ees your name?"
Akon stood a bit of a distance, quiet, and seemingly unnoticed by the agitated dwarf. She watched on still and silent as Katri confronted him, and though rare, a slight hint of approval and pride glinted in her eyes, if only for a moment at how the Cassitran refuted the dwarf's banter. Leaving her to handle the dwarf on her own, she walked up to Rasiri and Cail, watching on as the fire burned Rizzik's articles.
She speaks low and mildly, "This will not bode well. While I am glad to see our town taking action and refusing to have this terror merely stake claim to our center, a warlock, especially one of his supposed calibre, would not have left his articles...'unattended.' Mark my words, there will be retribution....but let it come. We will not stand for this, and we will lay down any scum that thinks they can make our town their own. I merely caution that you be prepared....However, is any of the 'paint' left? Did you see any thing reminiscent of corpse or blood?"
Through the sensation of someone looming near by, Katri feels a warmer look reach her back, similar to the proud look her mother used to give her. She glanced back just to see a glimpse of something leave Akon's eyes. She blinked. and turned back to the dwarf. and waited for his name as she wearily slid back down to sit on a step.
"Vell, Folnir, how are you so sure?" Katri replied calmly before muttering her incant again an putting out another stray bit of burning wood. With a sigh, she pulled her self up once more, this time using the railing.
She let her hood fall back, tired of the heat it enclosed, and walked over to Akon, Cail and her brother. "Ees somethink wrong?"
Astrum distractedly approaches the tavern while carefully counting each of his fingers. There is a slight pause each time he reaches his right ring finger and his face seems to contort in thought.
His mouth moves frantically as though he is calculating a long equation, though no sounds escapes from his lips.
All at once, his attention is drawn towards the large book-burning lynch mob. He stares for a moment with confusion obvious in his eyes. One hand still hovers in front of his face whilst the other drops limply to his side.
After a full 30 seconds, he lowers his hand and shuffles inside. After a brief moment, he reemerges with a suspiciously art-shaped buldge under his robes. Astrum looks around in a manner he deems crafty and begins walking back towards the tower.
He pauses on the way past the Dwarf/Uordeq argument. He leans in slightly and studies the dwarf with a severe glance, one eyebrow raised sharply.
His glance shifts to the uordeq, then back to the dwarf again.
He then reaches out and pushes the two together. He stands back to examine his work, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. He then nods curtly and turns to leave.
"I haff told you before. Katri. Katri Cassitran." The Uordeq replied. She stumbled into the Dwarf when pushed by Astrum, jumping back. She nearly fell in her weakened state. She turned to see someone walking away.
"Astruumm..." She sighed, "Vhat are you doing you nutcase?"
Astrum stumbles over his robes and quickly adjusts the 'hidden' painting before turning to face the two. A smile spreads over his face as he replies.
"I believe you mean enlightened my dear! And if you must know, I am simply out on a peaceful stroll! At least I was before it was spoiled by all of this fire and argument. What is the meaning of this disruption?"
Astrum crosses his arms in a rather obvious attempt to keep the square protrusion from slipping down any further. The stern look he had hoped to achieve was somewhat lost in the awkward stance.
Katri raised an eyebrow at him, "Enlightened... Right. Rasiri decided to begin burnink Rizzik's leafings. Vhat exactly do you haff there, vizard?"
She approached him, poking at the square protrusion that was very poorly hidden by his robe. Her arms crossed as she stepped back and she gave him a mildly amused look.
Astrum's 'stern look' is replaced with one of astonishment as he jumps back, though he quickly recovers.
"This? Oh this... This is a... a... mosquito bite... and I'd appreciate it if you didn't bring so much attention to it thank you very much."
Astrum huffs himself up and adopts a look of indignation.
Katri takes a step forward, following him as he jumped back, "A large, square mosquito bite? I haff nefer seen such a think... That's quvite... unique Astrum... Somehow, efen through my veariness, I can't help but theenk you are tryink to hide somethink..."
She smiled at him, it wasn't so much warm as it was unnerving and knowing. She stood, arms still folded, watching the Empyrean squirm and try to lie about what he was doing.
Astrum's face turns slightly pink around the edges as he attempts to come up with a suitable response.
"Why you... How dare you... After All I- I- I have done for this- this- You would DARE insult- "
Suddenly Astrum dissappears from sight leaving a whisp of smoke in his stead.
Cail snaps out of his slight trance and looks at Akon, well rather through her as he is still reminiscent. "Umm... No," he says to her. "I havent seen anything of the like, but perhaps Rasiri has. He did most of the damage himself. He must really hate this Rizzik."
Katri stood for a few moments more in silence before drawing her hood and mask back up. She straightened her bag and sword by her hip and walked away, with a seemingly determined look in her eyes. It seemed that she knew exactly where she was going as she walked slowly away.
Cail promptly follows Rasiri and mumbles under his breath sending a fireball at the small pile of debris outside the tavern. The fire starts small but with the amount of dried wood, the blaze spreads quickly to the rubbish.
Cail then goes inside and helps Rasiri by throwing out paintings and things of the like.
