Cogwaggle can be seen placing a note on the town post. It reads as follows
It seems that most of you enjoyed the festivities of death last month and I see no reason to not continue the celebration! To which I present to the good folks of Jastrey a new game. The ZERO SUM CHALLENGE! (sponsored by Cogwaggle Industries, your leading dealer of death and incentivizer of a good shiv in the back - all proceeds for this event will be donated to the Uordeq Childrens Reading Fund and the Gnomish Orphans Leadership Development Team because children are our future and they deserve better carnivals of death).
The rules of the game are simple. 2 gold entry provides you with 1 large gem worth 1 gold and two small gems worth 5 silver each. If you're able to reduce another participants health to 0 you may take one of their gems. Small gems are taken first is possible, large gems only if there are no small gems left to be taken. You may only kill the same target once an hour and you are free from retribution from that person for the same hour. Turn in all the gems you have at midnight on Saturday for a gold prize.
Fine print: All typical PvP rules apply. Entarnce in Cogwaggle games is strictly voluntary and falls under the Ornish Council Rules for Fair Play and Organized Duels Act. Crit and Killing Blow actions are disallowed for the scope of the game, those who choose to wear RED armbands are excluded from this and other rules of the OCRFPODA. Names of valid targets will be posted publicly in the tavern for reference on who's playing. Should you lose all your gems you may opt out of the game at any time but give up rights to kill others still participating in the Cogwaggle game. Some Exclusions apply, Cogwaggle and Cogwaggle Industries do not support the wanton slaying of random travelers. If you can't find a monster, keep your dagger in your pants. Please Slay Responsibly!
If you're interested in participating please sign below. All entry fees MUST be paid prior to distribution of game materials
Cheerfully -
Cogwaggle
Cail appears in front of the town post to check the latest news when he finds the posting for the Challenge. He looks at the signatures already signed and he pulls out his own quill to pen his name as well. Before he wisps away, he mumbles under his breath with a smile on his face, "This is going to be more fun than last time."
Finian approaches the town post, clad in Cassock and sandals with a large bag swung over his shoulder. He stops at the town post and scans over the paper smiling as he sees the proceedes being donated to charity. Finian signs the paper with the following:
Finian of Cork - Donation only
When Finian finishes he silently continues down the road away from town.
