As dawn breaks over Jastrey, a large piece of parchment can be seen fluttering in the crisp morning air tacked to the Town Post. It reads:
"The Reaping is but once a year, A time for joy, No cause for fear. Gather all ye travellers brave, Come enjoy the things ye crave! Board the Dice and chart your course: South, North, Northeast in force! Tarkalsys waits at journey's end; Come one, Come all and pay homage to old friends!"
Mittens sauntered up to the Town Post and extended her claws, raking them down the post to sharpen them. A flicker of movement in the corner of her eye caught her attention and she lifted her head. There was a paper fluttering before her and with one paw, she batted at it. This was amusing for a few minutes, but she soon lost interest and stood on her hind legs (just legs she supposed....being humanoid was useless and irritating) to read the missive.
"Interesting" she said aloud, forgetting once more that as a Mau rather than a wizard's cat, people understood when she made remarks. "I suppose this could be amusing."
After batting at the fluttering paper a few more times, she set off in search of a sunny patch to nap. She expected the noise would wake her when it was time to board the ship.
The parchment everyone was standing around caught the riven's eye. After making his way and reading the flier, his face sretched with a smile. "A reaping hmm? Oh this DOES sound fun! I must go pack a few things. I'd hate to be ill prepared!" he said before rushing off.
The fae interested was peeked when she saw everyone looking at. She scanner over it and then seemed to be filled with delighted and as if she may explode any second. "The Reaping is Tarkalsys?" she repeated excitedly to herself. "Pfffft of course we all should, why would anyone wish to miss such a fantastic trip" She said once again out loud lightly laughing
The Ifrit notices the commotion and approaches, brushing past the Fae to get a look at the parchment. Upon reaching the words "Board the Dice," Blaise's eyes light up, literally. "The open seas, at last!" he exclaims. The sprite is overjoyed at the prospect of sailing once again, even if it would be on that cursed ship. Blaise strolls merrily towards the Pack camp to inform his companions and retrieve his trusty tri-corner hat, and sounds up a vibrant verse of the chanty "My Fair Elven Lady."
Malkonius holds the untacked portion of parchment in his hands to steady it in the breeze. He reads the post, and seems rather delighted.
"Well, this does sound int'restin'! I'm not so sure 'bout that 'Reapin,' but Tarkalsys sounds like it has got one hell of a party brewin'!"
Malkonius lets go of the parchment, and goes to pack his things in preparation to set off for Tarkalsys.
"I guess I should make sure ev'ryone else knows 'bout this!"
The Dwarf travels to the tavern to let everyone inside know of this posting. A party is no fun without the company of familiar faces, after all!
