This one came up this year, and it's a fairly straightforward ruling, but I thought I'd open it up to discussion in case anyone had anything to add. Basically, races like fairies, ixifar, and to a lesser extent angori are being put at a combat disadvantage because their racial costuming prosthetics are treated as valid hit locations. In addition, because they can be convenient targets, prosthetics may get damaged.
The ruling will be that costume prosthetics are not valid hit locations. Hitting a fairy or an ixifar in the wings, for example, does not count as a hit. There is some potential for abuse here, of course, so I'd like to find a simple way to state that without folks getting it in their heads that they should get big prosthetics to use as protection. Obviously, the point of the ruling is to encourage people to dress up without fear of being at a disadvantage or having their expensive prosthetics ruined. Any ideas on how to make that clear?
