A yellowed, slightly singed scrap of parchment can be found secured to the tavern door jamb by a smooth black nail. On it, in dark crimson ink, is written:

Ling walks up to the door from returning to the bathroom, a mug of ale in one hand, and tilts his head. Reading the note silently. He snatches it, pulling the nail from it and goes inside to the kitchen, where he burns the note and chucks the nail in with it. "I hope no one saw that with ill intent... what are you doing?" he grumbles as he stumbles out of the kitchen and sits down, rubbing his head.
