Zanna runs out of the tavern and towards the Healers Den, "LADY RHADAMA!" She calls out. She gets to the den and finds the door latched shut. She looks around thinks to herself, "I guess I'll just wait for her here." She props herself beside the door and slides down to sit, pondering her thoughts of what to do about this dreaded plague.
Zanna bows her head courteously to Rhadama. "I'm very much feeling better Miss Rhadama, thanks to you." She then looks down to the pendent around her neck, "And it's okay, Atasatch helped me to find my pendent, the she-wolf had it." She said smiling, and then looks at Rhadama who looks tired. "Is there anything I can help with right now, because there's some stuff I was hoping you could help me figure out."
Rhadama wipes her hand across her brow and shrugs off her gear. "Thank you dear, but I'm doing all right. I was looking for someone, but he doesn't appear to be in Jastrey right now. I'm glad you recovered your property, though."
She settles herself into a chair at one of the tables. "Now sit down and tell me what I can do to help you."
Zanna strides into the room just behind Rhadama and sits down in a chair across from her. "I was just wondering if you could tell me everything you know about the Ressik Army and the plague they seem to have, which I'm guessing is what Miss Fancy has also." She says looking down sadly. She then looks to Lady Rhadama with a vote of confidence. "I want to do anything I can to help rid this horrid disease and make Fancy feel better."
The healer props her chin on her fingers for a moment while she thinks. "Hmm, we fought the Army last mestrum. When the soldiers fell, they would explode into a burst of corruptive essence that interfered with magical and natural healing for a short time. From what I can tell, this plague is a more severe version of the same effect. I think you could help Fancy by speaking to the Dwarf shaman, Keg Ironspur, when you see him. He had a similar illness and was able to cure himself of it. I am hoping he will be able to produce a similar cure for Fancy."
Akon's usually strong and defined pace appears slowed and lagging as she emerges from the forest's edge. Curled slightly, she hacks into her balled fist a few times before stopping, her coughing worsening. She braces her self against a tree, bowing her head towards it, both forearms propping her up against it. Her chest rattles with powerful wet coughs, causing her to pull down her mask to take in fresh breaths of air. She finally quiets, eyes closed and resting against the tree, looking only worse than before. After a few more moments, she groans and spits a wad of mucus to the side, licking the roof of her mouth in distaste as she makes herself push back up off the tree.
Retying the cloth mask about her nose and mouth, Akon then approaches the den, catching sight of Rhadama and the half emperean girl. Once more, keeping her distance she calls to the den. "Is the jerky eating dwarf in there? If not, can someone tell him the town is in need of his handy work? We are looking for some sturdy chains if he has them."
Akon glances to Taklinn, the expression on what can bee seen of her face and eyes greating him with a reserved but quiet friendliness. "For Atasatch. He is going to face the beast from that fang. I offered him my help to make sure he didn't harm himself, or any other member of town. You are welcome to come as well, we may need an extra hand. But we plan on doing it away from the townsfolk..he is going to fully confront it in order to learn to control it fully. And we expect him to be....dangerous, to say the least. I figured dwarves would be the right ones to come to for a fine quality chain that won't break, and will hold him well when he faces it. We plan on having him chained up so that he is less likely to injure himself or others. Can you help us, Taklinn?"
Taklinn puffs out his chest a bit upon hearing Akon's words about Dwarven craftsmanship. He digs through his wheelbarrow, and proffers a large length of chain from it. He begins tugging on it, testing its strength. Stepping on one end with his foot, he pulls heavily with his good arm (Strength 1). With a loud snap, the chain breaks and the dwarf falls over onto his back. "Son of an orc kissin' wench!" he shouts as he gains his feet. He hurries to the Warrior's Hall and can be heard banging things around. He exits the building shortly after carrying another length of chain, this one thicker than the first. He tosses it at Akon's feet and says "There! That should hold yer mutt! Make sure I get it back, as it has crossed many miles with me, and it is forged better than that piece of goblin dung!" he finishes pointing at the broken chain laying beside his wheelbarrow. He grunts a farewell and picks up the broken chain and puts it back in the wheelbarrow. "Just goes to show ye that big folk don't take the time to make something right!" he grumble as he continues on to the Warrior's Hall.
Akon chuckles at the dwarf, genuinely amused at his antics. She reaches down to pick up the chain easily and also tests its hold, jerking on it (Strength 2). Satisfied with the finely crafted and strong make, she nods, her eyes smiling from under her hood. "Seems we've got what we needed." She nods to the two she had addressed formerly, coughing lightly as she wraps the chain neatly and places it around her shoulder. "Be well." She bows at the waist towards them and walks off towards her quarters as the sun is fading.
Zanna looks up as Fancy comes into the den talking about chains. She makes a confused face as she goes on about it but looks more into the situtation as Fancy explains herself.
She then chuckles at the dwarfs response to the chain breaking and looks up at Fancy as she is about to leave. "Wish the druid luck for me Miss Fancy." She says with a kind smile. "I hope you get better as well."
As Fancy leaves Zanna turns back to Rhadama. "Where do you think I can find this man at Miss Rhadama?"
"I can't say," the healer replies. "Like many of our townsfolk he comes and goes on his own errands. I hope he'll be coming into town for the Brewing festival."
Rhadama sits back and runs a hand through her hair. "I genuinely hope Fancy will be able to hold out until he returns. She's so stubborn sometimes, don't you think...uh..." she pauses, realizing that she doesn't know the young stranger's name.
She listens to everything Rhadama says with utmost interest then asks, "What's the Brewing Festival?" And as she goes on hopeing to Fancy, Zanna nods her head in agreement and looks down sadly then looks up as Rhadama stops talking. "Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't introduce myself Lady Rhadama." She then bows her head and says "Zanna Martindale."
"It's a pleasure to formally meet you at last, Ms Martindale." Rhadama says jovially. "The Brewing Festival was announced by a sign on the post in the middle of town. I don't know if it's still going on, considering our current situation, but I'm preparing my entry just in case. There's probably still time to sign up if you're interested in making something. And I know a lot of people are going to come in to sample the entries."
After midday the Ixifar healer approaches the Healer's Den from the direction of town. She looks hot, weary and bedraggled but she smiles as she spots the young stranger from before sitting on the ground before the door.
"Hello young lady. Are you feeling all right? I'm sorry to say I didn't find your pendant but maybe there's something else I can do for you?" she says, stepping up and opening the door.
