As dawn breaks, an Urdeq exits a cave on a mountain side. For the past two months he spent in meditation and darkness. Before entering the cave, the young Duskling found his hearing getting more and more sensitive. So much so that the slightest sound would give him migraines. Along with any contact with his ear would send pain shooting throw his body. During his meditation he found the quiet and darkness conforting. In time he could hear everything going on around him with pin point accuracy.
After bending down to collect water out side the cave he noticed something.... Something different.... As the ripples in the water settled he could now clearly see he had change. No longer was he a simple Duskling but now a Chirova with new abilities.
"Now, let's see what I can find to eat."

Not too far away from the cave that Peleus has just emerged from, Shrayvar was also in search of food. He frowned as he spotted an animal trap hidden amongst some shrubs. The trap was unsprung, exactly the same as when he had left it there during his last visit. Well, at least the trap itself hadn't simply malfunctioned. The fault was likely in the location. Shrayvar quickly dismantled the trap and tucked the peices away inside his satchel. He glanced around. He didn't want to waste a trip, but no direction in particular seemed promising. Arbitarily, he made a choice and set off at a quick walking pace. He didn't bother making any attempt at stealth just yet, for the area around him seemed completely desolate.

Hearing movement in the bushes near by, Peleus assumed it was pray, propelled himself toward the movement. In mid flight drawing a short blade ready to take done his pray the moment it came into sight.
Unfortunately still new to using this ability, Peleus propelled himself with all of his strength, sending him full speed at the target. Then at the last moment when his target came into view, realizing it was young Shrayvar but unable to stop in time slammed into him full speed.
Once the two collided Peleus tumbled to a knee. "OOOWWW"
Peleus meet Shrayvars confused gaze, "Sorry Shray, I'm still getting the hang of this new skill I have and I'm coming out of a meditation fasting state. So I focus isn't as great as normal."

It just really wasn't Shrayvar's day. In addition to being an unsucessful hunter, the world seemed to think that it was necessary for him to be confused with prey. Shrayvar grunted as Peleus's body collided with his own, causing both of them to fall. Shrayvar gathered enough of his wits to shove Peleus away before hitting the ground himself. His vision blurry, Shrayvar stared at Peleus in confusion. Who was this buffoon who had knocked him over? Then Peleus spoke, and his identity clicked with Shrayvar.

"You're good. Believe me, I've been—" he winced "—hit by worse." Gingerly, he rose up to his feet, brushing the dirt off of himself as he did so.  "So how..." Shrayvar paused as the question he had been about to ask was kicked aside by a new one. "...ears?"

Peleus chuckled to himself, "yeah, they're new to me too. Apparently when I went into that cave to meditate my body went through a weird transformation. It's been said that some of our race evolve into something else and our duskling stage is only temporary, I guess I'm one of the few that do."
Peleus lightly touching his ears. "There still a little tender so I wouldn't touch them right now if I was you. But that's also why I was able to hear you in the bushes moving."

"For serious? That's a pretty nifty trick." Shrayvar took a step back to better view Peleus's new form. "So now you look different and you can do different things. But you're not, um, a different person, are you? I mean, you're still Peleus, right?"

"Last I checked I am..." Peleus paused placing his hand on his chin looking up as to thinking really hard.
"Yup still me."
Peleus gather himself and stood up, while receiving his blade.
"It feels so weird, I can hear things now way far away without even trying. It tripped me up for a while when I was in the cave. At first I had to use fire see and go find out what a noise was. But after a while I could almost instantly visualize what something was from the sound it made. Till finally one day I found myself hearing what's going on further in the cave at great distances."
Peleus looked all around.
"You have no idea how much is going on around us right now."

Shrayvar glanced around. The surrounding area seemed just as lifeless as before to him. "I guess you're right," he said. "So far as I can tell, we're the only ones out here. Can you hear any animals nearby? I originally came out here to get some meat, but none of my traps caught anything."

Peleus glanced around the area with a focused look on his face.
"Other than a lot of leaves moving from the wind and the occasional bird and bug there isn't that much in this area. That's kind of why I pounced on you. But I'm sure there's going to be more activity further downstream closer to the countryside. "
Peleus walked back to the cave and collected his gear. On his way out of the cave he covered eyes, "Damb sun... It seems my time in the cave has messed with my eye sight. You need to do the guiding till my eyes readjust."

"Well, let's get down to the country-side before you decide to take a bite out of me anyway," Shrayvar said with a grin. After came Peleus came out of the cave again, Shrayvar said, " Guide you? Well, all right I guess." Shrayvar thought for a moment, shrugged, and then grabbed Peleus by the wrist. "Off we go!" With Peleus in tow, he descended down the mountain in a brisk but controlled walk. When he could, he opted for the most level surfaces. "Big step here, watch out."

Peleus was unable to fully keep up with the very energetic cat. Every step he took barely touch the ground.
"So my very charismatic friend where are we going? Because at this pace we won't be able to stock any prey."

Shrayvar skidded to a halt. "Oooooh, good point. Running in would probably scare everything away. But sneaking in will be difficult if I'm guiding you the whole time. What to do, what to do..." Shrayvar tapped his chin thoughtfully as he searched the sky for inspiration. When the answer didn't appear among the clouds, his shoulders slumped. "Ah, screw it. You're in no condition to hunt right now anyway because you're blind as a—" Shrayvar glanced at Peleus's ears. "Er, how about we just head back to Jastrey and buy some pre-hunted food?"

Peleus stared at shrayvar for a moment.
"My eyes are fine thank you, things are just a little fuzzy and tunnel visionie."
Peleus raised his hands to his head rubbing his eyes and then blinking multiple times.
"Besides I haven't made as much coin as you. With what money will be by food? We're right next to the stream, maybe will give fishing a try? "
Peleus pointed to the gentle steam 10 feet from them.
"The stream is calmer down here, more animals will come to drink and fish find it easier to move around. Maybe we should set up a camp here, I feel my strength getting weaker and I need to rest. Jumping on you was my last bit of energy I had."
Peleus slowly sitting down next too a near by tree.

Shrayvar glanced at the stream. "Fishing for fish sounds good," he said. "Problem is, I don't have a rod on me." Shrayvar looked at his own hands wistfully. "Man, it sure would be nice to be one of those magic people right about now. Then I could just conjure up whatever I needed." Shrayvar made an "explosion" gesture with his hands. "Poof! There's your rod. Or better yet, poof! There's your fish, already cooked. Poof! There's your banquet table with seven whole courses and dessert to boot. Also, servants to clean up afterwards for you. Ooh! and napkins! Napkins are the definition of classy."
