New Path: Dervish
Fighters may now select the dervish path. Dervishes are more offensively-inclined fighters who specialize in dual weapon fighting. They inherit the Burst attacks that were previously the province of savages, and add some of their own unique mobility enhancements. Here are the relevant links.
Merits
- All fighters may now learn the Reaver merit, which allows them to stack bonus damage from Power Attack or Whirlwind.
- The Iron Grip merit is now available to all fighters instead of just warriors.
- The Guardian merit is now available to all fighters instead of just warriors and has been reduced from level 12 to level 6.
- The monk Mind Over Body merit has been renamed Inner Peace and now grants immunity to Frenzy as well as Daze.
- Warriors of 3rd level or higher may now learn the Steadfast merit, which makes them immune to Attract and Repel.
- Savages of 12th level or higher may now learn the Brutality merit, which grants them a persistent Strength effect and makes them immune to Weakness.
Actions
- All fighters may now learn the Bum Rush action at 2nd level, which lets them become immune to attacks for a single, straight-line jog or run.
- Monks have new self-restoration actions: Pranayama, Chakra Flow, and Chakra Surge.
- Monks may now learn improved versions of the Grapple action, which follow the new Pin rules.
- The Bodyguard action is now available to all fighters.
- Savage Whirlwind attacks have been replaced with Crushing Blow attacks. These allow savages to call Pierce damage with two-handed weapons. Other savage Burst actions (Heads Up, Mutilating Whirlwind, Ruinous Whirlwind) have been moved to the dervish.
- Actions with the Exclude effect have been made naturally at-will, which includes the dervish Heads Up action.
Treasure
- Monks may now acquire obis. An obi is a sash worn on the waist which can be enchanted like a weapon and applies to unarmed attacks.
Respends
This represents a major class shift for savages. As such, any savage may request a free respend. As previously mentioned, the new shield size rules represent a major class shift for warriors. Any warrior with the Heavy Shield proficiency may request a free respend as well.
That is pretty cool, glad fighters got an upgrade. Now I am gonna have to run even more.
