After removing all the papers save for the sorcerer's request from the town post, Akon then made her way to stand outside the tavern. She drew up her hood and leaned against the wall next to the door. Folding her arms, she waited until she caught sight of those she sought. She hadn't seen the lad Edwin for a while, and had hoped to catch another conversation with the good judge Marduk. And so she waited, keeping a quiet eye on the towns folk that passed by, keeping a particular eye out for the new Ixifar in town as well.

Katri's pale, drawn form can be seen approaching the tavern with slow steps and arrow straight posture despite the exaustion written all over her face. Her red rimmed eyes betrayed her lack of sleep and it seemed as if she had lacked nourishment as well. She stumbled forward, trying to make it to the steps to sit. Her dark eyes still seemed blank and far away.

Ohren walks up to Akon. "Hey bacon did you see who pulld my woodworkin request off da post?"

Akon looks up and her eye narrow, focusing in on the small figure of Katri as she walks forward. She hold up a hand to pause Ohren's question, as she steps forward. One hand reach to hold Katri's chin, lifting the Uordeq's face towards her own. "Katri....what has happened?" She asks, staring hard at the girl, seeming to analyze her.

"Bah! Screw it" Tired and agitated. Ohren goes and scribbles on a piece of paper again. The pictures are the same. Some wood with tools and an arrow pointing to a club. Then that is circled and and arrow points to a horned figure holding out money in one hand and leather in another. He then puts the new picture up on the post. Ohren shakes his fist around town and shouts "DONT PULL DIS ONE DOWN YOU BASSARDS! IM TRYIN TO GET STUSS DONE!"

Katri's eyes cleared a bit, widened and then narrowed, "Lady Nivarian? You are alife? I must be halucinating from lack ohf sleep..." She scarcely noticed Ohren standing near by. Katri sways slightly on the spot and then regains herself slightly. "You really are here... I haff been avay from town fhor a few days, een the voods near the edge ohf thees shard. Theenkink and meditatink you could say."

"Yes, I am alive..much to my own suprise. I'm still not sure how or why..but regardless, I am here. -You- on the other hand..look half dead." She reaches for her water flask on her side. "Here..drink.." She removes it, holding the flask up to the girl.

Katri blinked and accepted the flask with a lightly shaking hand, "I am fhine. I am interested and reliefed to fhind you alife though." She took a small sip and handed the flask back to the older uordeq before sinking to the tavern steps, without even the strength to move her bow or quiver. "Eet has just been a long fhour days."

Akon frowns, arms reaching to catch Katri as she falls, easily holding her above the steps. "You are far from fine..." She states lowly, a cold dissapproving tone in her voice. She then reaches down and lifts the girl into her arms, as if she were little more than a sheet in weight. "You've got some explaining to do....." She begins to carry her way from the tavern towards her quarters. "But rest...I'll take care of you."

Katri let out a sigh, knowing defeat when it met her. Particularly when she hadn't the strength to hold herself up, let alone argue or struggle against her mentor. With her last bit of strength she nodded to Akon muttering an "Of course, Lady Nivarian," giving up hope of enough maturity to refer to the woman as her family had- Mistress Nivarian, before passing out in the grasp of the warlock.

Akon's arms tighten around the Uordeq, still very much a child to her. Her lips purse and her gaze hardens further, the red in her eyes starting to burn. She mutters, snarling as she walks. "You won't have this town..... they have one on their side this time..."

She then dissapears into the night, the limp Uordeq in her arms as she makes her way to her cabin.

After a long while, Akon returns to her post at the tavern door, keeping a particular eye out for Marduk, Edwin, or the new sorcerer in town.

Marduk puts down his book and decides that if he can get a few drinks in him, he would see double.   Hopefully then, he could learn twice as fast.
Down the stairs and toward the Tavern / Art studio were Marduk greets Akon with a short bow.

"Good day Marshal,  how fair you today?"

After several hours of studing lore on dragons, Nirvianae's head is throbing. Wanting a change of pace, he heads to the tavern to look again at some of Orhen's art and to possibly hear some of the rumors or happenings in the town. Before he enters, he stops at the post to see if anything new is there. He notices that only two notes remain out of the several that once crowded the post. One being a crude drawing of an Angori holding a club and the other being a notice of Court.

"Court? Against Wyndfere for assualt?" he ponders. "What is it that he did? I know that I need a mentor but I'm not sure if I would want to be taught by a felon..." His thoughts trail off in his mind as he considers this personal conflict. While thinking, his head pressure starts to come back. Not wanting any more of a headache than he already he has, he shakes of his thoughts and proceeds to walk into the tavern.

Akon cocks her head up, lifting it below her hood. Her voice coming out blandly. "Tired, but that's hardly unusual. It's hard for me to keep my regular hours and operate in conjunction with you day lovers...regardless." She leans up off the tavern wall. "May I join you? I have a few things to discuss." She unfolds her arms, a few papers under one of them.

Marduk nods and waves an arm inviting Fancy to go ahead.

"I need a drink.....ummm....errrr....do they still sell ale in here anymore.   This place has definately gone upscale...               Next they'll have a bouncer at  the  doo......"

Then he quickly looks up at Akon,  "Or is that what you were doing?"

Marduk brushes the cookie crumbs off his jacket....  "do I look ok to come in here?"

Without paying attention to either Akon or Marduk, Nirvianae walks past and enters the tavern. He first heads straight to Ohren's paintings. After he examines them for a while, paying close attention to the newest ones, he turns around and goes back to his usual table, halfway through the tavern on the far right against the wall. With hood still dawned, he sits and starts to observe the tavern.

Akon smirks, then walks into the tavern at the judge's jesture. "I think they will throw you out...you don't look quite morbid enough to be in here..." Akon says dryly. "The only thing I wish to 'bounce' as you say, is the vile scum that thinks he can take up residence here." She looks at all of the decorations of the tavern with disgust. "I want it all removed..all of it. I won't have this bastard just making his quarters in the center of our home..this is -our- town."

She then looks over to Nirvianae, nodding at him as she goes to take a seat with the Judge.

Marduk tips his hat to Nirvianae, pulls out a chair for Fancy and then seats himself so that he can lean the back of his chair up against the wall.

"The sudden change in the tavern has not eluded me my friend.   But this was a magic that I will need to study and perhaps talk to Thaliner about."

Marduk leans his chair against the wall and says: " This....   is not a full on attack.     This is a plan that someone or something is enacting.  It may become clearer as the cards fall....   and the perpetrator may tip his hand.  Or better yet, make a mistake."

Marduk pulls a piece of badger jerky from his hat pocket and chews on it a lil....

"This is why we must stay united.  This town is strong together."   He then continues to tare away at the jerky as he studies the "art" in the tavern studio.

Ohren notices Marduk admiring his art. He waves happily splashing paint drops on the ground.

Marduk looks up at Ohren and his paintings and smiles.

"Greetings Ohren....  keep up the good work..."

Marduk pulls another piece of badger jerky out of a hat pocket and thows it to Ohren.

"Here you go....   It's fresh....   It'll keep up your strength."

Ohren catches it with his paint coverd hands and proceeds to eat the jerky. "Tanks! dis is gud stuffs" he turns back to his master piece of an angori grabbing a minotaur by the horns and dragging it to the ground.

Akon sighs, relaxing somewhat at the light hearted jestures of the Judge, pulling her papers from under her arm. "Regardless, I wanted to talk to you about three cases and update you on them. We still have the case of Stiers and Katri and their 6 assult charges on the table, but I've not seen many of the attackers or defendants for that matter in town of late. So that is on hold. And then we have an outstanding case of Stiers bringing up charges of assault agianst Ohren, though I didn't wish to make a public post about it due to it being more of a private case. Lastly, I'm still awaiting report from Edwin on the arsonist case." Akon looks up around the tavern. "Though frankly..I would rather see it burned down again than this....how can you be so calm about all of this? Do you not know the stories of the crafter....?"

"Being calm is what gets me through problems like these.   When I was transfered to Urr Keep, we all knew that the gnolls would attack that very spot.  Though we did not know when.  We prepared, practiced, stood vigilant , and learned all we could for years in that spot until the gnolls bridge brought thousands of them to our gates. "

Marduk pulls a piece of cloth that looks like a 3 chevrons made from wands over a flaming shield.   "Hmm...  Arcane Sargent Glimmerin......"

Marduk looks back up at Fancy and says:

"Besides....  dying is not the thing to be worrying about.  It's how you die that counts."
