Footsteps

Gentle footsteps were heard padding through the underbrush of the forest. Nightfall was still fresh, and dew was just starting to settle in place amongst the foilage. Those footsteps then passed from healthy earth unto that once scorced by the cursed arts. Long passed had the marks of damnation been once again claimed by nature, but the place had far from been forgotten. Akon paused in the middle where once she had knelt, and bowed her head, pressing finger and thumb to her temples. A soft grunt as heard, as teeth pressed unto grit. Her other hand reached across her chest and held to herself, her form huddling and bent. Dark energy rippled between her palms as a shudder escaped her between clenched jaw, her entire form tensing.

A bobbing torch comies into view, hold it the Angori Zwey. Wearing his armor again, and his great hammer in a sling on his back. He kneels near the warlock, waiting for her to come to before speaking.

A sharp breath issued between her clenched teeth, inwards swiftly, then forced out in a airy grunt. Power, like static, crackled once more between her palms before her eyes sharply opened, focusing on Zwey with burning red heat, the gaze itself seeming to seek what he would say.

"Oh joy, more of the dark arts. Just what this town needs." says Zwey in a complete deadpan. Claw marks still lacerate the Angori, self inflicted from his torment. Zwey shakes his head, stands and looks around the site, "What is significant here?"

"Does it matter?" She said, tone bitting and harsh. "It's long past. I sought information, and it came at a price. But the end goal was accomplished, and the dead remain dead."

"I would be less than sure of that. Rizzik visited recently, and the dead rise when he is near." Zwey walks in a circle around Akon, holding the torch near the ground, looking for symbols. "The forests seems to have reclaimed this place, as nature does."

Akon's harsh eyes watched him with their burning stare, the fire from his torch reflecting  devlishly in her gaze. There would be long burnt and hidden lines out stretching from where she stood scoured into the earth, her tone still snapping back. "I didn't end all of the undead from rising. Rissik is but an annoyance, Zwey, there are far greater things than a simple idiotic half crazed necromancer. But the dead which would have caused great destruction was dealt with, and no longer flies in the skies above Jastrey. He was a far more powerful and potent necromancer than that half crazed idiot could ever hope to be. Do not come to mock me, Gurka."  Akon remarked, a snarl to her breath. She then grit her teethagain and drew her gaze away, returning her fingers to her temples.

Zwey shrugs and looks towards town. He walks into the woods, torch bobbing with his lumbering gait.

Rasiri appears next to Zwey as he walks away and hives him a slight nod. Then walks in Akon's direction. Then stands silently as Akon broods.

Syra silently bobs from tree to tree as she comes to a halt once Akon and Rasiri are in sight and with in hearing distance. The young elf quietly sits atop the tree and grins. "I'm not the only one who has dark secrets" she thinks to herself. Syra then begins to watch in hopes of possibly learning something from the Warlock and Seer.

As Akon stood there, the dark energies about her form started slow, then gathered immensely, as the power radiated from her form, and caused her hair to rise as the tension elevated. She grit her teeth harder, then finally relaxed, the harsh energies still growing as she released her hands from her temples and at last released the power with a downward dismissive motion, sending the cursed blast along the lines which once were carved by dark power into the earth, the plants withering along the energy's path.

She took in a deep breath, seemingly to calm herself, her red eyes burning harshly in the pale moon light. "Why do you come here, Rasiri?" She asked not turning to him, sharp eyes searching for the sound which accompanied Syra, then fixing upon where she hid in the trees. But her gaze didn't linger, nor dismiss her.

A small flame appears at the bottom of the tree in which Syra hides. A moment later, a loud crack sounds as hammer meets tree trunk -breach- . As the tree falls, Zwey speaks, "If your are going to watch, I'm sure you would get a better veiw from ground level."

Having heard the tree fall from a ways away, Cail decides to investigate the loud crash. Upon arriving at the scene and seeing Zwey stand with hammer in hand he looks around noticing all of the others watching Akon.

He frowns at her apparent aggrivation and treads carefully past Rasiri to within six feet of the Warlock. "You're upset for reasons beyond my understanding I'm sure, but don't you think this is a little excessive," he asked with a lightly joking tone.

"Excessive?" She snapped back at Cail. "If you truly knew what you speak of you'd know full well that this is -contained-." She hissed then sighed looking away, returning to rubbing at her temples.

"Oh, I'm quite sure that you have a fury that I've not yet seen, but I can't help but notice that you are taking it out on helpless plant life," he said, the light tone from his voice now gone. "If you need something tangible to release your anger upon, then take it out on something that deserves it. Take it out on me if you have to, but leave the forest alone."

He took one step closer as he spoke, wary of any move she would make.

Dark static rose like lightening though Akon's figure at that as she snapped back once more. "Are you insane? You'd rather me strike you down than cause a few plants to wither? Forgive me, Cail, but I fail to see your logic. And it doesn't work like that away. The more it is fed, the more it wants. It doesn't satisfy anything."

Cail's brow furrowed as he spoke, "Insane? No, but perhaps causing me harm will sate your anger. What better to do that than killing one of your friends, eh? And If I don't understand your aggitation, then explain it to me. I pride myself on being a good listener and confidant. Perhaps you should do the talking for once instead of listening to my problems?"

Cail took another step as he spoke, but decided to go no further.

Rasiri, who was probably the only one used to living through Akon's rage, walks right past Cail and sits on the ground with his face not a foot from Akon's. "Now now Akon. You know better than this. I have no idea what is going on... But we were taught, nay we had it drilled into our brains to not show anger... Or at least to show it constructively." Rasiri drops his voice low and calm almost dripping with sympathy, "Come now Akon... We can work this out... But I need to know what is wrong. And if people see you out here people will talk." Rasiri puts a hand on her shoulder, wincing as he goes through the energy and his hand starts to be injured from the necrotic energy. "Come on Akon..."

(agility) Syra falls gracefully from the tree and lands on both feet, she looks at the Angori with a huge grin upon her face "I was enjoying the view and comfort from up there." Syra  turns and plops herself onto the ground crossed legged then continues to watch Akon with curiosity and care.

The sound of bats twittering in the early evening preceded Binx stepping out from the trees around them. The silence of the nocturnal creatures in the area and the tree falling had caught the Uordeq's attention during her nighttime hunt. Her mask was drawn over her face, bow in hand with a single arrow held between two fingers. Owlish eyes darted from person to person, finally settling on Akon without greeting.

Akon grits her teeth as she stares Rasiri straight in the eyes. The dark static energy cackling around her. She forced her hand up to meet Rasiri's on her shoulder, the dark energy then in her palm that held him instead infused him with a feeling a healing, light energies filtering from her palm to sooth the damage the dark arts had inflicted, seeming to hold the damned powers back with raw will power. "Compact the tortured infliction, the burning hell fire that flows within the pit and stuff its torment into your very viens. Feel it beat through your chest with every pulse of your heart, through every fiber of your being, and then, you shall have a taste of what drives me to anger. Ever gnawing, begging to be sated, to be used for destruction. And yet I deny it.....every second of every day. I deny it." She then let out a short barbaric yell, throwing her hands out to either side as massive bolts of dark energy struck out from her palms, nailing into two near by trees, and leaving behind deeply scourched markings. She breathed heavily a few times, closing her eyes, and gathering herself, seeming to slowly, but surely calm.

Cail's face turned to saddened understanding as he turned his back to the Warlock. He looked up to the darkened sky through the canopy of trees and breathed heavily. Then he spoke quietly, but loud enough for both Akon and Rasiri to hear, "That would have been so, in my case. You know... if it hadn't been for you."

Cail lowered his head and then walked away, back through the forest towards the lake without saying another word.

Rasiri looks at Akon and then lowers his eyes... "Akon I understand pain... I have faced so much of it. I can try to help."

"And what still do you know of this?" She asked almost in a whisper, reaching for him to grasp both palms at the collar of his robe dipping her head to him. "How can you even hope to help that which cannot be saited...." She whispered still.

"I have sated plenty of hungers Akon. More than even you will know." Rasiri smiled grimly.

Akon looked up to him, then narrowed her gaze slightly in focus. "Some cannot be." She let her gaze shift to Syra who was watching from the distance, seeming to speak direclty to her. "The dark arts pity -no one.-" And with that, Akon vanished in a implosion of black.

The warlock's whispering reached the sensitive ears of the other female Uordeq, her eyes narrowing at her words. With a dismissive "Hmph," she turned her back on the group just as Akon disappeared. The pale woman sauntered back into the darkness of the trees, soon followed by the screeching of bats.

Syra watched Akon disappear, then the young elf jumped to her feet. She turns to the rest of the group, smiles then begins to walk back to the Pirates Den. Remembering and trapping herself in the words Akon had said, "The dark arts pity no one. Hmm, why would they? No one deserves pity. Not even I. Was she directing it towards me?  Why is this bugging me to much?" Lost in thought the elf fades off in the distance.
