A Friend in Need

Kirell enters the tavern and scans the occupants for a familiar face.

Before he steps to the bar to order an ale.

"Has anyone seen Thalenir, Keg, or Taklinn? It is critical that I speak with them immediately!"

Several moments later Taklinn walks into the Tavern after training in the Warrior's Hall to get a meal and a drink.

Keg groans and sits up from the spot he passed out, on the floor. Shaking his head he mumbles something about the hair of the dog and drinks a mug of stout.

Taklinn, upon seeing Keg rise up in his seat grabs his drink and plate and goes over to join him at the table, sitting facing the door and his back to a wall.  "It seems there was another span that opened in me absence.  There sure are a lot of new faces in town, drinkin' up all of the good drink and settlin' right on in."  Taklinn pulls out his flask and winks to his friend saying, "But we'll never be without a good bit o' the holy water again lad."  He pours another mug for himself, and looks to the contents of his friend's mug and closes his eyes for a moment before topping off Keg's mug as well.  "I heared the other day that the King O' the scum Urdek made his way to town recently, and that some may be lookin' to go huntin' fer some bat ears afore too long."

As Taklinn steps to the bar, Kirell hands him a quart of ale, and invites him to a table in the vicinity of Keg.

"Bartender bring my Keg a quart of ale to ease his awakening."

"Gentlemen I have a very serious situation to deal with, and I require your assistance."

As Kirell leans in close to whisper, the only words that can be understood outside of Keg & Taklinns vicinity are "Brotherhood" &"Dragon".

Kirell then stands and as he reaches the door he turns. "Discretion is of the utmost importance".

"Always people needin' help around here lad" Taklinn says after Kirell departs.  "Aye, its not always the easiest place to live, but Jastrey sure ain't a boring place to be livin' in."  Taklinn takes a long drink from the drink Kirell bought him.  He burps appreciatively and wipes the foam from his beard with his sleeve before drinking the rest of the quart in four large gulps and repeating the process again, only this time placing his sleeve in his mouth to suck out what little ale was soaked up in it.  "Those Farmers are about the only Humans worth a spit at makin' holy water that dont taste like Goblin piss.  A couple more centuries and their recipes might even be down right good."  Taklinn then upends his flask once more to empty yet another different drink into it.  "After that little bit of talk of Kirell's, I'm thinkin' I'll be needin' a bit of Gutbuster tonight to calm me nerves a bit, what say ye?"  the dwarf asks Keg as he offers him another drink.

Glimmer sees Taklinn, Keg and her new friend Kirrel and quickly flits to them.  She refflues Kegs beard, gives Taklinn a kiss, and tries her absolute best to give Kirrel a very squeezy hug.  Glimmer grabs her teapot and cup off the table behind them and plops down beside Taklinn.

"So?  What's the news?  Anything exciting and dasterdly, I hope!  I do love a good problem.  Cuz I can fix em!  Let's have cookies."  Glimmer pulls her cookie pouch out and dumps them on the table, retreiving a small red cellophane candy for herself.  She hiccups loudly and begins to stare.

Wreynn's descends partially from the ceiling, still hanging upside down by his legs from the rafters over Taklinn and Keg's table. "Well, that sounded like it could have been an interesting discussion, Master Forgesplitter.  Do tell, I'm quite interested, what does the Brotherhood have to do with Dragons? And," he pauses briefly to pick his words properly, "I didn't hear anything about the King O' the scum stopping by to pay town a visit, at least not yet anyway.  But from what I know of the man, it won't be long until his hounds are sniffing at the gates of Jastrey.  That is, assuming he can even find the shard.  I've poured over the maps, and I still have no idea where we are."

Glimmer eyes Wreynn wildly and quickly slides her candy back into her pouchie.  "Well by the wings Uncle, why MUST you hang upside down?  You could have suffocated yourself, or something equally as horrible.  A body must be more careful.  What's this talk of Dragons and scummy Kings?"

Drux walks into the tavern take a quick look around sees his friends and head off in there direction. He takes his seat pay no attention to the uordeq swinging from the rafters.
"How everyone doing this fine evening?", Drux asks.
He then orders a bottle of wine and begins to drink.

The hungover keg listens intently at Kirell's words and rebuffs his request in a hushed but animated tone. He holds his head and listens to Taklin as the young dwarf drinks.

Swatting at the faries hands as they muss hs braid, the dwarf curses and pays no attention to the urdek. When the Drakna aproaches and speaks the dwarf nods.

"Thwarting Bloodbrand was no small feat half drake, and your blade was given by an immortal." the dwarf huffs. "Hell I'd bet ye havena even spoken with it."

"Well the King's reach has reached town.  He had a letter delivered to that offspring o' his, and durn near killed him.  That don't bother me too much, but the fact that Jastrey has drawn so much attention to yer so called royalty makes me axe itch fer an Urdek head to split.  The daughter an' a bunch o' the others gave lip service to startin' a war with em afore they drank and danced themselves into oblivion."  he says in a blurt as he looks up to the rafters.  He nods to Drux as he takes his seat and says, "As fer Kirell's problem, it was some research he wanted a bit of help with, and was wonderin' if we'd be knowin' any information.  Iffin' yer wantin' to know more I suggest ye try goin' to the horses mouth, rather than ask me.  I've always been better at smashin' things than readin' and such, which is what I told him." he finishes before taking a long drink from his mug and eating a cookie quickly.

"Thwarting Bloodbrand you say?" Akon asked as she siddled up towards the others at the bar, letting her empty wine chalice rest on the edge of the bar. "Do you mean making it sleep when we douced it in prime...or are you refering to something more?" She asked, brow rising in intrigue.

Taklinn looks about to the gathered group, and says "Well I got other chores thats needin' tending.  I'll see ye later Keg".  He nods at the Drakna, gives Glimmer a peck on the cheek,  and walks away mumbling something about being seen in public with Urdek as he walks out of the tavern and towards the Warrior's Hall.
