Gobsicles for Everyone

An icy wind blew into town from the North, bringing a small layer of snow along with it. Smoke rose from the chimneys in the distance as the sensible people of Jastrey huddled against the cold in the safety of their houses. If one was to be near the lake, they would notice a thin layer of ice covering the surface of most of the lake. And, if they kept looking, they would see the form of a half-naked, bluish-green goblin, shivering in about chest deep water with ice forming around him and off the tip of his nose. The sounds of his teeth chattering could be heard with intermitent curses at the weather.

"You're committing suicide wrong, greenskin." Katerina Cassitran drawled, tapping a finger to her chin and resting the other hand on her hip. She had been heading back to town from her cabin hidden in the wood on the other side of the lake when she came across the sight of Nasher chest deep in the partially frozen lake.  A smirk was firmly settled over her features, clearly amused at the sight. She was quite glad she had chosen to walk to town this particular day. "It would go much more quickly if you just sat down where your at, but then, who am I to complain if you wish to prolong your own suffering?"

The goblin slowly turned to see who was there, the ice cracking around him. "N-n-nasher n-not suis-s-siding his s-self! St-stupid d-d-dark eyes," the goblin managed to chatter out at the urodeq, his breath turning instantly to steam.. "N-n-nasher ap-p-peases N-nok nok! Then Nok N-n-nok give power!" the goblin chattered with a bit more excitement.

The Uordeqi woman gave a short, dirisive snort, recalling when he had come in to the tavern singed and still smoking, "Still on with that, are you?"

Pulling her cloak a little tighter around her, she eyed the disgusting little creature. "Appeasing whatever fool thing you are trying to for whatever power you're expecting doesn't seem to be working well for you. Just be sure when you kill yourself with this nonsense, you do it far enough from Jastrey that the foul stench of rotting goblin doesn't reach the tavern."

"N-n-nasher smell n-not r-r-reach t-t-tavern!" the goblin shouted, shaking his fist in the air. The goblin stopped as the thought of what he said reached his cold mind. "B-b-because N-n-nasher not g-g-gonna rots's or d-d-dies! S-s-stupid dark e-e-eyes!"

"Oh good. I do hate the smell of goblin while I'm trying to eat." Katri's smile was sweet acid. Her violet eyes sparkled with amusement at the Goblin's misery. She had even given another short laugh at how long it had taken him to realize she had told him to die else where. Apparently his natural idiocy and ice on the brain didn't do much for his comprehension. "I'm not so sure about you not dying, though. The spring thaw is still a good time away. I'm thinking you won't last the night standing there."

The goblin's face contorted in a look of stubborn anger. "Nasher n-n-not gonna d-d-die! N-n-nok nok said s-s-so!!" the goblin chattered out with an angry tone. "D-d-dark eyes know n-n-nothing!" he shouted at the urodeq. he slowly turned his back to the woman in an attempt to piously ignore the wench.

"Riiight. If you want to keep telling yourself that." The Uordeq shrugged, sliding her hood up against the cold wind. "Have fun getting yourself out of that ice when it freezes to you... If you live to see getting out of the lake."
