Interface Update

So, yeah, I've been busy giving the site a makeover. The old interface was good for a first try, but it just didn't feel like it was cutting it in the community engagement department. As Nick and Jessi could tell you, there's a lot of content that you guys never get to see, not because it's not available to you, but because it just doesn't show up on your radar. My goal for this redesign was to change all of that.

The menus have undergone a complete revamp, with the things people use most presented at the forefront without having to expand menus beforehand. Event and polling information has been moved off of the home page and into the new right sidebar (usage statistics show that most of you are using resolutions larger than 800x600, so I doubt the wider layout will be problematic). This was to make room for a normal Drupal home page that shows a reverse chronological listing of all content as it is created. This way, if anyone creates new spells, items, classes, forum postings, etc., everyone else will be able to see what's going on.

The revamp also allows us to take full advantage of Drupal's block functionality; the Random image, Hints & Tips, and Who's online blocks are just a few examples of the sort of plugins I can easily install.

Of course, there will be glitches. I guarantee it. Just drop a comment or shoot and email if you notice any and I'll do my best to rectify them.

At any rate, I hope you guys like the change. Let me know what you think.

I'm glad everyone seems to like the new design for the site. However, I've heard a few people say that it doesn't display properly for them. This is most likely due to caching. Basically, your browser is storing old versions of the files needed to display the site correctly. All you need to do is clear your cache to make this problem go away.
