So I talked to Thad and decided that once I get some more leatherworking done, I am going to be bringing extra items with me to games. I am compiling ideas of things every larper needs! So that I can design my own versions of them and make up a couple of them to bring to the larp with me. What I would like to hear from you all is things you would be most interested in getting. I also do sewing as well which I may be able to make for you all. What I'll do is get all your ideas and then create a list of items I can bring to the larp and their prices so you can pick them up at the game if you choose to.
Right now my ideas include: Pouches for treasure and larger pouches for packets. Belts. Boffer weapon frogs for hanging weapons of various types on your belt and mug frogs for hanging mugs from your belt. Eventually I may be making hoods and cloaks as well, especially towards the colder mugs. As always I can make armor and specialty items on comission, but this list is for ideas for general items everyone needs.
I also may be eventually bringing other things such as mugs for sale as I continue to expand my offerings. I just wanted to get your guy's ideas on what you would be looking for if I start bringing these items! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! <3
Nope, not for boon. This is just trying to make it easier for people to get the things they need. I'll be charging cash for the items, but just making them larp specific and readily available. I think having some basic bracers would be a good idea. I could match them to the various tiers as well. - Soft leather, Hard leather etc.
pouches, pouches, pouches. if you could have something lightweight enough to carry packets I think it would be a good thing for some players as well, but def something to hold character sheets and treasure would rock the casbah. And speaking from experience the belt is a nice addition to a costume for anyone.
I know for my first event I really could have used a leather frog for my sword. You would want to make one with the snaps or velcro or some way to tighten it so it would hold onto the basic larp weapons easily (the ones without the guard).
Also I needed pouches, as everyone has been saying.
As a hint for people I made my pouches by going to a thrift store and cutting up purses to have belt loops on the back. It is a good option if you are stripped for cash and want something cheap (just be sure brand logos are not visable and zippers are not easily seen). But having a original alternative for purchase at the LARP would be nice for a lot of people.
well an esential component would be making leather armor that can "adapt" to everyones sizes make them so they could adjust as how others would want? yes. but other than that people needs, arm, leg, torso, wrist armor these are pretty much what everyone will want im guessing :P.( youll be getting boon wont you?)
