Cail can be seen walking down the road with Valorian by his side. The two tall figures hadn't spoke since they had set foot from their cabin. Cail had a large traveling pack on his back loaded down with a bedroll, traveling robes, food, and all of the like.
After a while of silence, Valorian finally spoke up. "Art thou sure ye want to do this alone friend? Tis' a dangerous road ahead and I fear the worst has happened to our home."
Cail smiled and said softly to Val, "Of course I am sure. I need you here to gather information on this Rizzik fellow. If he is who I think he is, then he may well know of my father's where-abouts, but do not ask him directly. If you think that he may know, then you send a letter to me as soon as possible, but do not leave nor let him out of your sight."
Valorian lowered his head and said somberly, "Of course. I will do as ye ask."
Cail patted Val's back and said, "Be well my friend and also watch out for the one they call Thorne. She apparently is the daughter of Rizzik and might be well offended by mine and Rasiri's actions at the tavern. Again I say be wary. She is a vampire I hear."
Valorian's demeanor changed dramatically. "A Vampire?! How canst thou leave such a creature unharmed? Why haven't ye put it out of her misery?"
"Patience my friend," Cail said. "I, myself, have not seen her in person so I do not know her intentions to the world or Jastrey. If she bodes no ill will towards the people, then I believe that she can be left alone in good faith."
Valorian grumbles, but does not speak. Cail stops walking, turns to Val, and says, "Here is where I go on alone my friend. You must turn back and take my place for a while. Be safe."
Valorian stares into the Empyrean's eyes and says, "Aye. Thou keep well and be safe too, Cail. I will stay as ye ask, but if ever ye need my assistance, do not hesitate to contact me here."
Cail nods and shakes Valorian's hand, then turns to walk down the road leaving Val standing alone.
