Lights from the Merchant's Hall

Anyone in the viscinity of the merchant's hall hears a loud crackling noise accompanied by a blue light that shines through the windows.  After a few moments, the glow abruptly flashes crimson red and a man cries out in pain.  The merchant's hall then falls back into darkness, and all is quiet save for the soft thud of a body hitting the floor.

Kevass hears the commosion and runs to the Merchants Hall to investigate "Thalenir! Is that you in there. Are you OK." Kevass continues up the stairs with his sword drawn. He bursts through the entrance.

When you enter the merchant's hall, you immediately see the unmoving form of Thalenir on the floor.  Circles of power are inscribed in wide patterns around him.  Papers and furniture lay scattered about the room in disarray.

When you move to examine Thalenir more closely, you see that he's in bad shape.  His robes are in tatters, his flesh is seared in many places, and he cannot be roused.  He is alive, but only barely.

As you turn him onto his back, you notice something far more disturbing.  The draconic curse mark on his hand is not simply glowing.  It is now pulsing with a dangerous red light...

Not sure what to make of the situation except that Thalenir needs help, Kevass yells out the window for Haven or Corvax, hoping one of them is in ear shot, "Haven! Corvax! Thalenir is hurt badly! Please come!"

Haven comes rushing in.  "What has he done now?"  She looks down at Thalenir on the ground and inspects the room around him.  "I bet he botched a spell," Haven turns to Kevass, "Can you help me take him to the Healer's Den?"

"Yes absolutely." Kevass hefts Thalenir's limp body over his shoulder as gently as he can and starts out and towards the Healers Den.
