Silver entered the Shady Corner and sat down at a vacant table. She looked around casualy, but on the inside she was jaded at herself. She had Joined the Pirates and come to Jastery looking for information on her parents. Ilistar had told her nothing about them, except that the family mane was Dragoran. He had killed them and raised her, and all she knew was that for some reason it had been the right thing to do. But she didn't know why! Who were they? Did she have any family? She tried to settle her thoughts as she scanned the tavern for people likley to have the information she needed.
As Silver's gaze scanned the room, she noticed a hooded figure near the fire. Silver thought it could be one of the people she had met at the party. Silver got up and warily approached the figure. "Hello. You look like a person who could be well informed here in Jastery. I was wondering if I might have a moment of your time."
Akon's gaze broke from her own thoughts to look to whom was addressing her. Her hood was not drawn up about her face, but rather rested over her shoulders in the darker hues of the night-lit tavern. "Some might say that..." She answered low, though her tone was not, unkind. "What is it you need?"
Silver sat near the woman and recognized one of her dance partners from the party. She sat quietly for a moment as she tried to think of how to explain her predicament. "I am seeking information from the Drakna community. I seek those of the Dragoran family. Have you heard of them? Or can you direct me to someone who may have?"
Akon looked back towards nothing in particular as she replied. "I'm afraid I have heard no such name mentioned among the townsfolk here. We have several Drakna among us, but Kirell was birthed as a Dranka upon my freeing him from a dragon egg within our town, and Drux was only just recently changed. They might know something, but I doubt it, considering their recent heritage."
She took a gentle sip of her wine, before looking back to the woman. "That is all I can offer you as far as words that have wandered amongst the townsfolk. However, what do you know of them? I might can aid you in finding the information that you seek."
Silver's shoulders drooped as she heard the news. She raked her mind for any information. "The problem is that I myself don't know where to begin. I have very little information to work with." Silver eased herself to think better. "They did something to get themselves killed, hunted down by an Ixifar Paladin named Ilistar. I do not know what they did. I seek simply to know who I am."
Akon leaned back comfortably, settling herself nicely against the tavern wall on the wooden bench there. She sipped her wine once more, pleasantly enjoying the sour dark red. She looked back up to the Dranka in her soft and even response. "Mn....well. The history of the Ixifar may be useful to you in gathering some information then. If such was a Paladin, the Ixifar you are refering too was likely part of the Order of the Eternal Flame. I'm sure such a well known Order would have some records of those important in their history. If the Dragoran family indeed did something warenting attention of the Order, then it is perhaps a start to find out what exactly it is they did. No guarantees however, not all paladins of the Ixifar heritage are part of the Order, nor does it mean that the death of the Dragoran family was at all notable or intended to be exicuted by the Order. Nonetheless, it is a start. Why is this family of interest to you?"
Silver sighed at the news. "I feel the need to know who I am. Apparently I am from the Dragoran family, whoever they may be. I have spent my life among strangers, being merely tolerated. I wish to know the mysteries of my past, so that I may move on with my life."
Silver sighed. "Indeed. I was raised among the Ixifar caravans by the Paladin Ilistar. I know nothing of my own people." Silver motioned to the staff for a drink and continued. "They tolereted me, but I could always tell that I did not belong. I could see it in their eyes." She took a long breath and let it escape. "The Captain Belle offered me a place on his crew so I could have a means to find my answers. This is my first time away from the caravans."
Silver let a small sigh escape her lips. "Yes, of course. I had asked Ilistar many times of my past. He would always tell me to not ask again. It wasn't untill I was of 15 years that I even learned from him that Dragoran was my sire's name." Silver sollemly closed her eyes. "Ilistar tried to raise me well. But he was very silent about my parents."
"Mn....well. At least there is a start. You should check in the tower, see if there is any literature there, though I doubt something quite so recent would be written about. But you chould check. As for information on the Rahalinnians, well, Chataya shares the same decent I believe. She is a noble healer in our town. Those are two sources you could start with...however, if you have anything at all that was specific to your clan, anything of importance that was worn by any of them, that also would be most helpful, though it seems you are entirely empty handed in that regard."
Jael had been there drinking and socializing since before the light of the sun disappered from the sky like most nights. His jug was filled with the usual honey mead that he so loves and was once again somewhere between half full and empty. He had spotted Silver and Akon earlier talking near the fire but at seeing how serious their conversation could be he did not break it up.
Some time passed and Jael's jug was now close to full once again. Glancing over at Akon and Silver again he decided that it was about time to say hello. "Akon, Silver!", He said while walking in their direction, taking a heavy seat onto a chair near the fire, "It seems to be far to serious over here. So I thought I would show up and see what I could do about that."
He paused for a moment as the warmth of the fire finally hit him and commented aloud to himself, "Wow sure is much warmer over here, wish I had wandered over earlier."
He nodded to Akon, "Well met, Akon. I would gladly take that seat." Jael moved so that he was now sitting next to Akon instead of off to the side. A large grin came over his face as Silver voiced her question, "Indeed I am. I try to enjoy as much of life as possible, and this honey mead brings me great joy. Though it was a hard choice between this and the ale. Anyways I hope you two are well tonight."
Jael took a swig before continuing, "I hope I was not interrupting anything too important. And on a complete side note I hope we all get to dance sometime again. Perhaps I could even learn a move or two."
Akon chuckles, sipping down the last of her wine. "Indeed. It is perhaps something the people of Jastrey should focus on more. So often we are plauged with discontent and hardship. I am of belief that some of that is due to where our gaze is set. If we all had more of an outlook like yourself Jael, then perhaps a lack of mead would be our greatest problem, rather than an over abundance of hardship." She smirked, looking to him with a taste of humor about her remarks.
Silver gave a small laugh. "I think our conversation was sufficient. And I did indeed have a fine time dancing the night away. I would love to do it again some time. With so many fine partners to be found in Jastery, I'm sure if we can't help you someone else would be most ambiable."
Jael was surprised though only a happy smile remained plastered his face. After first meeting Akon on such serious terms he never thought she would act like this. Soon his attention returned to Silver as she began to talk.
"If only mead was the biggest worry of all. This town seems to attract all sorts of dangers but we live on. I'd drink to that any night of the week, and in fact I often do!"
Jael stopped to take a swig before turning to Silver to continue, "Also you two are the best dance partners I have ever had the pleasure to dance with. And second of all who else am I really to dance with?", at that he actually burst into a laugh, "Hah I just thought of Valez! But he is as stiff as a board when it comes to fun. Ah what a joke. In fact if he shows up here I will ask him to dance right now and we can see what he says!"
"Valez will probably politely decline your invitation." He wore a half smile on his face and it was apparent he had walked in on the conversation. He hair was pulled back in a pony tail today and his eyes had a green sparkle to it. "I was just in the area and decided to see if any company was to be found in the tavern. May I join you?"
In the back at the bar of the tavern sat Leviath. His two handed sword embedded into the wood floor beside him. He was drinking and seemed tipsy to say the least. Though his eyes followed Valez as he approached the table of some companions. Always cautious and always alert he searched the room for any other dangers and thought it was secure enough. He ordered more, not really caring what was in it.
Red plummage appeared from the door and following it an Ixifar. Cheza scanned the tavern and noticed Leviath at the bar then Valez engaging in conversation. She noticed his back was turned to the bar and grinned. She could order some mead! She chuckled to herself aloud and approached the bar though she made sure to keep away from Leviath. He was often reckless and dangerous in combat and this was also true out of combat for him. Cheza did not enjoy the pain of battle at all prefering a warm fire and sand between her toes. She motioned for some mead and sweets and started to dig in.
Silver gave a warm musical laugh at the exchange between Jael and Valez. "I don't see why you shouldn't join us Valez." Silver slid down the bench a bit to make more room for him to sit if he wished. "Who else thinks that Jael is the biggest threat to Jastery's mead supply?" Silver said lightly with a smile.
He began to laugh, "What good timing you have Valez! And one of these days Valez I will see you dance."
Seeing that he was facing the fire he missed the fact that Cheza and Lev were close. Jael chose the wrong time to take another drink. Silver claimed him to be the biggest threat to the mead supply in Jastrey and he was forced to put all the mead back into his jug. The moment he recovered he laughed harder than he had all night. Small tears formed at the corner of his eyes as a result.
"That is a good one Silver! And Valez I say subject does not matter. Let us dance to dance.", this time he took a drink uninterupted and then added, "I hope you are well this evening Valez."
Silver reached deep into a bag she had brought with her and pulled out a bottle of Cognac. She unscrewed the cap and pulld out a shot glass. "Anyone else fancy a hard drink?" She said merrily as she threw back a shot. "I hope there are many more merry dances to be had in Jastery. Mabey one day I can say I have danced with all in Jastery!"
After bringing the total mead in his jug down a little further he took a curious look at the new bottle presented. "Well who am I to turn down a drink?", Jael asked with a smirk, refilling the shot glass and downing the contents, "To more dance filled days in Jastrey.". He was already somewhat tipsy so the shot did not burn as much going down, still he shook his head after placing the glass back on the table.
"Not what I am used to! But good stuff none the less has a nice kick to it.", he filled the shot glass again and awaited for the next person to pick it up.
"Ive danced, and I enjoy it on occasion." Valez smiled and he motioned for a shot from Silver. "I remember the leaves falling in my homeland. And we would dance about as the leaves turned colors and twirled around us. It truely is a marvel." Valez chuckled to himself and clapped Jael on the back. "Today is a good day I believe."
Leviath's ears perked up when he heard hard drink and he left some coins at the bar and wlaked over to Silver grabbing a seat and pulling it near her. "I could use a shot, myself." He grins and grabs a mug from another table and plops it in front of Silver. "Don't stop till the mug is full."
Silver chuckled as she pulled two more bottles from the bag. "That I can do, my good sir!" She uncorked one and proceded to fill the glass. "One of my finest collection. Hope it slakes your thirst." Silver gave a toothy grin as she proceded to throw back three shots. She shook her head and smiled. "That hits the spot!"
Akon reached over smoothly and lifted the shot glass Jael had filled, toasting the air, "To more dancing in Jastrey." She remarked, before downing the drink, her visage unmoving at the bite of the liquor down her throat. She casually placed the glass back accords the table towards Silver.
"Good to hear Valez! Good to hear. And it is good to know you are no stranger to dance at least. Lev, welcome.", he paused as Silver produced two more bottles from her bag and watched as both Lev's mug was filled and Silver proceeded to drink down three shots like they were water. "Tonight seems like a long and fun night."
He had to at least match Silver, so Jael snatched up the shot glass after Akon set it down, before Silver could down yet another one. One, two, three. He set the glass down hard on the table and gave a big sigh. "I am sure that will be hitting me here in a little while.", Jael said with a grin, looking over to Silver, "If you keep up that pace to long it might be hard to match you, not sure if I could keep up."
The confident smile on his face said otherwise, if anything he was looking foward to a challenge.
Silver laughed musically. "I have no wish to attempt to out drink you. I feel that I might end up on the floor, or mabey awake in a strange bed." She made herself another drink and tossed it back. "I think you should worry about out drinking our friend here with the mug full!"
Jael laughed, "I am laughing the night away it seems! Awake in a strange bed Silver? Haha. Dont worry I would not let you end up on the floor, id be sure you made it back to a bed.", he gave another chuckle before turning to look at Lev, "A bar you say Valez, unable to out drink him you say. I say we will have to test that someday Lev, you might be a opponent I would have to start out against sober. That is if you ever catch me in such a state."
Looking over to Valez Jael offered a smile, "Purity huh, well I'll drink to that." He took another shot of whatever Silver called it and made the same smile. "Yes Akon a drinking contest indeed. Would you be up for joining such a thing.", his smile turned into a smirk as he shifted his attention to her.
Silver smiled warmly at her drinking companions. "I have never let myself be pulled into a drinking challenge, which is quite a feat on the ship of the Crimson Corsairs. I drink to cleanse the soul." She had another drink and smiled. "Well, and sometimes to have a little fun."
Akon smiled at them, rising with her empty cup in hand. "Aye..I've challenged dwarves to a drinking contest before. I enjoy a good drink on occasion." She winked as she walked by him, amused smirk still upon her face as she went towards the gathering of other folk on the opposite side of the tavern. "If would would excuse me a moment."
Akon's figure was sitting quitely, hood resting against her shoulders as she sat near the tavern fire. She was sipping a deep red wine in her silvre chalice, alone with her thoughts as she gazed towards nothing in particular at the empty space infront of her. Her blades rested easily across her lap, tucked into her belt, and her feet were propped up against the leg of the table, back resting against the tavern wall.
