Luck of the Draw

A new dwarf comes bumbling into the Tavern lugging with him a few bags containing various outfits and beard grooming accessories. It is clear that he plans to stay a while. He lays his sword and giant shield onto a vacant table and wipes the sweat from his brow with a sigh of relief. After taking a moment to cool off he digs through a bag and pulls out a scroll. Not knowing any better he walks over to the hearth and pins it to the stone. The scroll reads:

LOTTERY

Grimm Brewbelly of the Earthbreaker clan invites you to participate in an upcoming lottery drawing.

The rules are simple:

One gold equals one ticket.
Tickets can be purchased at any time.
No limit on the number of tickets one can purchase.
Vendables are accepted for their vendable value.
A single winner will be chosen on Sunday morning.
Winner takes all. (Minus a small percentage for the host.)

I do wonder what a small percentage means to the author.
Small is a relative term and means different things to different people.

Good luck with the raffle. I will be throwing in a few pieces of eight myself.
