It's midday and the birds are chirping. There is a slight breeze and it is partly cloudy, with the rays from the sun breaking through the clouds. The town's residential snow elf walks into the tavern, carrying his satchel and humming a soothing melody. Seren takes a seat at a nearby table, laying his bag in front of him. He rummages through his bag and pulls out an apple, and a book. Then. the snow elf takes a bite out of the apple and opens his book and begins to read it to himself.
Seren closed his book and he looked up. He locked eyes with the Ixifar and smiled. "Ah, Lia! Glad you could join me." He said, pulling out a chair for Lia. "I've just been reading my book, no need to be sorry!" He pulled his bag off of the table and sat it down next to him. Before setting his bag completely down, He searched through it and pulled out a bottle of water. He popped the top of it off and took a sip. "So, how have you been?"
Seren noticed her smile, and chuckled to himself. "I'm doing well, and no, the tea won't stain. They should be dry by now, anyways." The snow elf started swirling his bottle around, watching the water spin around. "May I ask where you went off in a hurry? I am quite curious, if you don't mind me asking."
"Would you be after spending a few days in a cage, post being asked about other people in your head by an immortal?" Katri snorted softly- words still slow and deliberate- from a corner not far away. In her hand was a quill and she appeared to be writing in a book, pausing only long enough to speak.
Seren turns around to get a glimpse of who was speaking to Lia. His light blue eyes lock on to the Uordeq sitting in the corner. "Why, hello there! I've never seen you around town before.. I'm Seren! Pleased to meet you." He said, smiling and taking a sip out of his bottle after he spoke. He put the top back on the bottle and asked the Uordeq, "May I ask who you are?"
The smile that crossed the Uordeq's face was anything but pleasant. In fact, it was outright cold and her voice carried a tone dripped acid. "My elder brother... is a perfect example of how not to be an Uordeq. He is simple and foolish. My apologies that you ever had to deal with him."
"Sibling rivalry?" Katri thought over the words for a moment before giving a soft snort of laughter. "Sibling rivalry does not indicate a need for ripping out the sibling's throat. Sibling rivalry indicates there might be a family bond."

She raised an eyebrow. "I've heard something to that effect recently. Something about the fool changing races again. Someone said he was a dwarf this time when last she saw him."
"Ripping out your sibling's throat? Heh, now I know why I was told not to get on your bad side." He snickered. "I can't say that I hate him. He doesn't talk to me much. Hmph, guess thats a blessing to you?" The snow elf said in a humorous manner, opening his bottle and taking another sip after speaking.
Lia was about to respond when Katri piped up. Her mouth closed as her blue eyes peered over to the Uordeq. She kept quiet, seeming to ignore their conversation. She leaned back up against the outer wall, letting her eyes shut. At the last of their talk, the Ixifar obtained a sarcastic smile. "Oh yes. Far too much 'commotion' in the Immortal saturated place." Her voice was low, but still loud enough to be hear, though didn't sound to be directed to anyone in particular.
Brutus Val Borda walks, calmly taking a seat and fishing out some food to eat. Corned beef and bread, but better than nothing. He observes the others talking over by him, but does not interact with them, enjoying a peaceful day without conflict so far. He starts to eat calmly, tearing the bread apart and placing the beef inside, eating numbly a bite at a time.
"Tch...yeah..." Lia replied, while remaining as she was. Her eyes cracked open at the sound of the new elf in town taking a seat near by. She studied him for a moment, watching him pull out some kind of meat and bread. After a minute, Lia's eyelids closed back all the way.
Lia opened her eyes to see what the snow elf was offering. Her face twitched into a wince. She sat forward, clearly unamused. "Last time I had an apple, I contracted demon plague from my Mistress's wretch of a sister. Soo, I'll pass on that, mage." The typical air of sauciness that accompanied Lianna, overtook the ixifar's form.
"Hmph. Well I assure you that this apple isn't tainted in any way, but I'll respect your wishes." Seren went to put the apple back in his back, but he noticed Cail sitting on his perch. "How about you? Would you like an apple?" He asked the owl, in a friendly tone.
Cail turned to look at Seren and the apple, his face shifting back to stoic passiveness. He tilted his head a little and then hopped over to where the elf was sitting. With one swift motion, he stuck his head out and nipped a small chunk out of the side of the proffered apple.

Chewing, as best he could, on the bit of fruit, a small gurgle was heard, seemingly from the owl's stomach.
A sly, but closed smile slid across Lianna's lips. Her eyes danced over Seren taking in every little detail, while ignoring the nearby owl almost completely. The ixifar was clearly enraptured by some entertaining though, as her smile grew into an eeire grin. "Sooo...a little kitten thinks they can try and play with a grown woman? Hehehe...Interesting. To think, you'd be more connected with her now, if you'd...hmmhmm...-stayed-." Her face turned somewhat spiteful at the end, but shifted back to amused quick enough to make an onlooker perhaps doubt what they'd seen.
"Stayed? Heh, I'm not going anywhere! I plan to stay here for a while, I am beginning to enjoy this town a little more every day." Seren replied, trying to ignore what the real thing Lianna was talking about. He smiled at her and took a bite out of the other side of the apple, opposite to where Cail bit.
Cail swallowed his piece of apple and was about to take another bite when Seren bit the other side. Mouth open in mid bite, his face held a hint of sadness as his stomach gurgled again. Pulling back his head, he sat there mildly disappointed that his apple was now ruined.
Seren smiled at Lianna. "I do adore kittens. And I am absolutely fine with secrets. It won't bother me. Heh..I should have brought some tea." Seren turned to look at the owl sitting on his perch "Aww! Don't be sad! Here, have another!" The snow elf searched through his bag again and pulled out another delicious looking apple, holding it out for Cail to eat.
"Oh? Well okay then. It was a pleasure meeting you for lunch. Have a pleasant day, Lianna! See you soon." He said in a rather up-beat voice, smiling and waving at the Ixifar as she stood up and moved away. The snow elf then turned his attention to the owl eating the apple he gave him. He put his hand up to the owl, as some sort of gesture to not startle it.
As his head was down, Cail saw Lia stand and move away, but as Seren put his hand towards him, he stopped eating and scrunched up his neck at the close proximity, leaning backwards slightly. Though, after considering things for a moment, Cail leaned forward and started eating again as if suggesting that he didn't mind.
Cail's feathers started to ruffle as Seren scratched his head and he stood there in a moment of bliss letting him continue, but after a while he scooted out from under the Elf's touch and blinked once at him. Then, turning around, he hopped up to the window sill and flew off into the forest.
It was some time after the elf entered that the tavern doors swung open again, ushering in the resident Ixifarian dervish. Lia slid a hand through her hair as she walked, a signal that her mind was lost in its own thoughts. Once in the middle of the bustling eatery, she looked up scanning the tables for someone. Spotting Seren, Lia makes her way over and takes a seat across from him. "Sorry, didn't mean to keep you waiting."
