A Subterranean complex somewhere in Jastrey
A dark form moves along the floor of the broad cavern, without making a sound. Sound could be deadly here, this deep underground. Hearing has replaced sight for the majority of predators in the Great Below. The violet and blue hues of various types of mana suffuse the cavern, giving the area a witchlight glow. Satisfied that no creatures are prowling the area, the figure moves to an area that has been worn down with care.
Stepping into an area of brighter light, comes a man like figure, carved from obsidian and inlaid with mithril. The golem looks around at his "home" and looks down for the things left in this haven. Stacked against a pillar of stone is a traveler's pack of assorted things. A form moves beside it, and sits down in the glow and pulls a battered journal from the pack. Memories flood the mind of the being known as Vyr. Places. Names. Faces of those who he once called friend. Boggren, Rithen, Onyx, Hadist, Mordenkain, Anya, Vekin, and Lillith. Names. Between the journal given to him by Crow, and the enchanted sleep of a few mests ago (brought on by the events of Thalnir's ascension) these names now have faces and context that was unknown to him.
"I actually remember my training." the golem, says to himself with a slight chuckle. Remembering the endless days of sweat covered pain that taught him how become one with a blade. Rithen constantly pushing him to new heights of battle. Boggren constantly reminding him to empty his mind and just "feel" his way through combat. His parents, both dissappointed at his chosen path instead of following in their footsteps as mage or priest. They were proud, but didn't want him to follow in the footsteps of his headstrong uncle. Afraid he would die in some nameless battle for a losing cause.
Lillith, that name... Why her? The golem clenched his fists as the old, familiar hurt begins anew. "I tried to protect her", the golem thinks to himself. "Had I only known how it would have ended, I would have gladly changed places with her." Looking up at the cavern surrounding him, the golem sighs, places the journal back into his bag, picks up a picked a and hameads back out into the vast cavern. Hammering away at the mana rocks around him, but unable to hold back the memories that now engulf him.
