Molting?

Outside of Jastery in the closest deep woods he could find, Janos crouched. He was in pain. His skin was changing, horns were coming out of his skull, his wings were burned and clipped and there was a mask stuck to his face that was at some times a bit smothering. His wings were useless, and along with the other changes happening to his body, he decided the best decision would be to make himself a cacoon and molt. This would probably be the longest molt he would ever experience. His wings had never been so damaged combined with the other changes, this was to be a deep sleep. He had spent the last day preparing his cacoon amongst the roots of a large tree that would obscure him. He carefully lowered himself in and closed it up behind him. He nestled against the leaves for comfert, his breath coming out cold as the winter court of which he was technically a member. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, enjoying the smell of nature that couldn't be found in Jastrey. He took another deep breath and drifted off to sleep as the magic in his body started to work on fixing his wings and accomidating the rest of his changes. Everything would be better after a long nap.
-In the closest woods outside of Jastrey. Do not disturb his sleep or he will be cranky :D-

Glimmer approaches the all to well known sight with caution, and caring.  She places a wreath of leaves, nuts, and berries under the base of the cocoon and sits steadily in front of it.  She begins speaking softly, almost as if in prayer with some unknown presence.  "Dearest Wings to the Seasons of Sprin and Summer, of Fall and Winter.  Protect Janos as he changes.  Though we shall no longer consort as friends, watch over him and guide him with your spirits of change.  In all that is natural, let him heal peacefully.  He is a wayward now, and I can not, nor shall not protect him."  Glimmer rises and leaves as quietly as she entered the site.

Janos opened his eyes slowly. He'd been asleep for a long time. His body was stiff with cold, though strangly it affected him a bit less. Instead of shunning it, he felt welcomed by it. He closed his eyes again and took a deep breath. He exhailed. He flexed his muscles and stretched his bones. He slowly pushed his hands through the mesh of frosted and rotting plant matter that had been his cacoon the past weeks. He had no idea how much time had passed, though he could discern that it had been much longer than he had anticipated.
He opened up the rest of the cacoon and stood up. He stood up slowly, and popped his back.  He straightened himself and looked around, taking in his surroundings. He noticed after a small circle of nuts, fruits and leaves and smiled a bit. He pulled his leg out of the cacoon  and stepped carefully the rest of the way out. He crouched next to the offereing and his new buzzed a bit as he did so. It was quite nice to have new wings as well. It was then that he also looked down at his hands. As he looked down the mask simply fell off. He blinked a bit at this before feeling his face. He didn't really miss the mask as he'd gone into molting almost right after getting it, but it seemed odd not to still have it on. Wrong almost. His now red hand reached down and placed the mask back upon his face, avoiding the new nubs of horns on his head as he did so. That felt better, right.
Janos stood back up again and turned towards Jastrey. It was time to go back. He wondered briefly what he'd missed, what oppertunities to play harmless prankes he'd never get back. He then shrugged. He wasn't old particularly and his kind lived a long time. He'd find time to prank again. He was certain of it. He smiled behind his mask as he headed towards his new home.
