Around midday, two figures passed through Jastrey's gate, only familiar to the handful of townsfolk they met in Tarkalsys. Spyder alternated between flitting along beside her husband, taking point and assuming she was leading him, and doubling back to check on the coffin he dragged behind him by a rope. The dark wood casket appeared to be for someone quite a bit larger than the fae, but it was indeed hers and the extra space allowed room for her bony wings. Occasionally she would pause to rub at her eyes with little hisses and growls- even her good eye was having trouble adjusting to daylight outside of the Eclipse.
It wasn't much longer before Pelle came sauntering through the same gate, mirror in hand admiring his new goblin ear that replaced his old elven one. Looking up over the top, he noticed the Uordeq from the night before and a fae he didn't recognize. "Ah, Mr. Rastik, was it? It's good to see you once again," the riven said as he approached the couple. "And I don't think we've met?" he said to the fae. "I thought I met every fae Jazz Tree had to offer, yet more keep appearing it seems."
Poppy noticed the two the just entered the town and heads over towards the two. "Hey, I think I have seen you before in Tarkalsys?" She says tilting her head to the side while examining the Uordeq. "But I cant quick but my finger on a name, aren't you Rex's friend" she continued squinting at him make the mask that covered her mouth and nose wrinkle toward the top. Her attention however is adverted when she notices the other fae as well "I definitely know I have not seen you I would remember another unseelie, most definitely" she said nodding lightly towards her. "but regardless welcomes to you boths"
Spyder had been about to join Rastik sitting on her coffin when Pelle greeted them. She gave a tiny squeak when he turned his attention to her as if she were shy, and another squeak when Poppy addressed her, but her hesitation was gone in an instant. "Nope!" She chirped, circling the other unseelie happily, "We aren't actually from here," she continued, answering Pelle's inquiry as she flitted over and began to circle him. "Thankies!" she called to Poppy from behind the riven, moving to land on her feet in front of him. Personal space not being of any concern, she leaned uncomfortably close to him, one hand slowly reaching as if to tug one of the stitches on his face.
"Oooh..." she cooed, both her dead, white eye and her greenish-blue good eye fixed on the threads that seemed to hold him together.
Rastik calls out to Spyder behind a tickled grin, "My dear, do not be so close to his face. It is rude." He walks over and places a hand on Spyder's back. He meets Pelle's eyes and grins. "It is pleasant to see you again, Pelle." Turning his attention to Poppy, he is stricken with a curious expression. "I remember the one named Rex, the skeleton fellow, but I don't seem to recall meeting you, young Fairy." The snake from his neck slithers down into his hand. It straightens itself out and in a shimmering light transforms into Rastik's golden staff.
The riven cleared his throat a bit as he took a step back from the overly-curious fae. "You may look, but please do not touch. Every stitch is a delicate work of art," he said in a tone that suggested he's told more than just her before. He instinctually lifted his mirror just to be sure everything was in it's proper place. He looks over the top of his mirror towards the warlock. "I have come to almost expect it from the Fae. I assume it's their own little greeting of sorts." He moves his attention from the warlock to the coffin that he seemed to be using as a bench. "Are we carrying souvenirs from Tarkalysis?" he asked, gesturing towards the coffin.
"Oh, well it was awful late when I saw you last, and it was quite brief, but none the less I am Poppy" She said in a cheerful tone. She over hears Pelle talking to spyder and responds "Don't mind him. Him and his mirror can be quiet inseparable" She said giggling lightly. "He is very proud of his handy work" She said trying to but as much emphasis on the very as possible.
She saw Rasitk staff change out of the corner of her eye and spark of curiosity was then directed to his staff " What is your staff exactly first an animal but nows appears to not be?" Confusion could be heard in her voice as her eyes are lock on the staff examining it.
In the distance, sounds of teleports and sudden thumps echo through the surrounding woods. Then, from under the foliage darts a small rabbit. Soon after the golem Rune smashes through the underbrush and branches in pursuit of the furry beast. It points a stone digit at the rabbit and "Ethereal chains bind you!" emits from the golem. A small singularity appears in front of the golem's hand, which sucks the rabbit into the golem's opened palm.
Rune conjures a simple cage and places the rabbit within. Only then does Rune take notice of the newcomers. The golem's gaze falls one the familiar fae, "Spyder, This one is surprised to see you. This one did not expect you to come to our paladin infested town. There is irony there. They have very little power here. No laws." rants the golem, still struggling to contain it's thoughts.
Spyder's brow furrowed and she turned her head as if to focus just her dead eye on Pelle's stitches as Rastik placed a hand on the exposed portion of her spine that connected to her wings, just above the top of her bodice. She shivered and gave a little purr, allowing Pelle to back away without protest. Her comfort was short lived, however as the rabbit crossed her path. The bones of her wings spread out with a creak and she raised both hands with her palms forward, black lips peeling away from her teeth in a grin of pure malice. Before she could even wink at the fuzzy creature, Rune barreled through the brush. She screeched, startled out of whatever idea she'd had, wings rapidly fluttering to raise her a few inches off the ground.
When she realized that she knew the ranting stone, her anxiety quickly melted away. She began to hum a little song, as if entirely unconcerned with the paladin talk, flying over to Rune and the rabbit in it's cage. She peered through the bars, drawing her knees up to her stomach as she hovered above the ground. "No laws, huh?" she repeated as she raised her hands again, wiggling her fingers just inches from the bars that separated her and the bunny.
The fae's focused is broken when she hears the heavy steps. She turns around to see Rune roughly handle the little woodland creature. "Rune! Why are you jamming it into that tiny little cage." She exclaimed to them her eyes as wide as they seemingly would go. She said standing next to Spyder as they were gathered around the rabbits cage."How'd you like if I jammed you in a little prison huh?" she said looking up at Rune as her eyes narrowed into slits
"Darling Spyder, don't you think we should secure a home to live in before we start collecting pets?" Rasitk chuckled at her. He looked up to see the Golem. He had never seen anything like it before. "You are like a living mountain; a natural disaster. May I ask, why do you capture this animal? You appear to be made of stone and as I recall, stones do not eat," Rastik inquires to Rune.
Rune moves the cage away from the malicious fae, "This one needs this creature, find your own." Rune addresses Poppy, "You could try, but this one would escape. The rabbit lacks this capability, and is thusly slave to the this one's will. This one will release this creature once it is done with it." The golem then turns to face the urodeq, "This one wants to know what Dalgoon learned from these creatures. This one has already studied spoons and other utensils. Little information was gleaned from them. Often cheaply made. Covered in filth. This one is not a living mountain. This one is a construct, a simulacrum. This one's stones are enchanted to make this form around a Name. The riven is also a construct, albeit made of inferior materiel."
The riven looked to the golem. "Inferior 'material' isn't the words I'd use to describe my collection of exotic pieces. I only pick from the best specimens to make up my pretty face." He lifts his mirror yet again as if to validate his argument to himself before turning back to the warlock. "I'm sure we can find ample room in town for you and the Madam Spyder to live in. And if you need to drop your casket in the graveyard, I'll be more than happy to show you the way there."
"Pet? Who said anything about a pet?" Spyder answered her husband without turning her eager gaze from the caged rabbit. "Experiment..." she muttered, still wiggling her skinny, black-tipped fingers. Her intentions seemed to be quite the opposite of Poppy's. She finally looked up at Rune when he moved the cage away from her, pouting furiously at him with her legs still curled up. She looked back to the rabbit, up to his stone face, and back down to the rabbit. She briefly closed her good eye, without a word, and that glance from her deadened white eye sent the rabbit scratching and squeaking to the opposite side of the cage in terror. A maniacal giggle trickled through her lips, the Unseelie positively tickled at the poor creature's horror.
"Bored now!" she announced abruptly, flitting back over to wrap her arms around Rastik and tuck herself affectionately under his arm. "The coffin goes in our house! But our house can go in the graveyard. Can it go in the graveyard, Sticky?" She asked, tugging gently at her husband's robes.
Malkonius walks down from the tavern after hearing the telltale sounds of Rune storming about. He notices that the golem has obtained a new specimen to study, and is worrisome about the rabbit's apparent distressed state. "Great..." he thinks to himself, "I wonder what mess I'll be cleanin' up this time..." The dwarf's attention is immediately drawn to the newcomers in town, oddly dragging along a coffin and talking of taking up residence in the graveyard. He thinks it all rather strange, and is put off by the presence of seeing a new Hoot in town, but regardless, he isn't one to judge people without getting to know them first. It would be unfair, considering he doesn't even know that much about himself. "And perhaps," he thinks, "A Hoot in the graveyard may be one less to worry about." "Oi thar!" Malkonius exclaims, jutting his hand out to greet the newcomers. "Name's Malkonius, what brings you here?"
Poppy's eyebrows furrowed together frustration, She flys up so she can look rune in his 'face'. " You are willing to free a construct that is being bended to another will without second thought or a bit of doubt, but enslave something organic and force it to your own will with such ease." She lets out a scoff at him. "The way I see it maybe you have more in common with us organics then you had previously formulated" She said in a mocking tone. "Maybe just maybe you're not so superior as you had thought."
At the sound of the Unseelie scoffing at Rune, Glimmer flits from the bushline, two more rabbits in hand. The tattoos on her face give away her recent changes, as do the colors of her bustled tutu being aligned more in tune with Fall. "Now Now Ugly. No scoffing at Runesies because he's my petsies." At the sight of the new Unseelie, Glimmer squeels in sheer horror at the girl's appearance. "EEgads! What ARE you! What mound made you! Well at least you has a proper tutu. But EEgads are you unsightly. Is this what your Queen allows you Fae to do? Just ramble and yell at people? Well. Being that I'm not Seelie anymores I see no harm no foul. Here, Ugly Girl, have a bunny." Glimmer dangles the rabbit out by it's ears at the new Fae, while throwing a wad of candies and cookies at Poppy. She then moves closer to the new Fae. When she stands but a breath away from the girl's face, she quickly stuffs a handful of cookies in the girl's mouth and taps her foot impatiently. "Can't even give a proper greeting."
Glimmer turns to Rune. "And BY THE BY Rune I've told you HE'S NOT HERE! And stop insulting all the cutlery. It has feelings you know." Glimmer plops down at the feet of the large rock man and eyes the new Urodeq. "Hi your face. How comes you have your head all wrapped up? Is that to keep your brains in because you have a Fae for a wife? My husband doesn't wrap his head up, but I make him twist his beard a lot. He's a dwarfie. Taklinn. He's not going to like you very much no he sure won'ts. What brings you here and WHY is there a coffin? I have plenty in the Dungeon. You could have just asked." Glimmer hiccups rapidly, scratches at her face like the tattoos are still foreign, and shoves a pile of cookies in her mouth.
Spyder watched the dwarf approach her husband and snickered from under his arm. Glimmer soon had her attention, however, and the unseelie flitted closer to inspect her tattooed face. She giggled at the Wylde fae's reaction to her appearance, reaching for the rabbit, but stopped short at being called ugly.
"Hey, i'm not-" she began to protest, but found her mouth stuffed with cookies. Her giggling resumed as she munched happily. When she managed to finish the mouthful, she squeaked excitedly and darted over to her coffin, scrambling beneath the lid. After some shuffling, she threw the lid open in a shower of spiders, cobwebs, and something sparkly. Some of the spiders landed on Glimmer, Rune, and Pelle. Arms stretched to the sky, she grinned proudly. The space around the fae was filled with colorful pillows, bones, and more spiders.
Poppy was a little over whelmed at first and stared wide eyed absorbed in what was happening in front of her snapping back to reality when the candy and cookies pelt her in the face barely reacting in time to be able to catch them before they hit the ground. "Rune, why'd you never tell us you had a fae owner?" "I mean she not unseelie, buttt she not seelie anymore she is not to to awful" she goes to unravel a wrapper but pauses and she to be sadden as she touches the mask that covers the lower half of her face. She stuffs it all instead into the pouches on her pelt for later, but not before snapping a piece of cookie and sticks into the cage for the rabbit. Content with this she turns her attention back to Glimmer "I think her wings are prettys they are all web-y. Like spiders help her make them!" She said her mood switching back to a more cheerful demeanor." And you are Taklinn's wifie to-." She started in disbelieve but her attention was shifted turns back to Spyder when she see her dart under the coffin and explode out with colorful pillows, bones, and cute little spiders. This improved the fae mood ten fold and seem to be gleaming with joy. As she plops down next to Spyder on on of the pillows making sure not to sit on any spiders or bones. "Aww where did you get these cute little guys" she said playing with one of the spiders in her hand
Glimmer jumps up and down excitedly and squeels. "FOOD FOR MY PETSIES! YOU GLORIOUS GIRL!" At that exclamation, Glimmer opens the top on the bag of frogs she's been known to carry around. She counts to three and throws the sack in the air, jumping up and down and hiccupping excitedly beginning to sing. "1 little 2 little 3 little Froggies eats 4 little 5 little 6 little Spidies! 7 little 8 little 9 little eatsies GLOMP GLOMP GLOMP GLOMP GLOMP!" Glimmer continues to clap as she tackles Spyder in a hug of the friendliest Fae sort. "You feeded my petsies! I shall keep you!"
He turned from the Dwarf's outstreched hand without a second thought and moved to pick up the rope to continue dragging his wife's coffin."Spyder," Rastik called out in annoyance, "I believe we should be going now to see more of our new home. Perhaps we could go look at the graveyard Pelle spoke of?" Staff in one hand, coffin in the other, Rastik turns to the townsfolk he just met. "Do svidaniya, comrades. We well meet again I'm sure." Rastik throws the rope over his shoulder and begins to march down the road.
As Glimmer unleashed her frogs, Spyder let out a wail as if she herself were under attack. She ceased when hugged, resigning to a confused pout, caught between the affection of a new friend and mourning some of her old ones. An abrupt hiccup seemed to shake whatever conflict she was dealing with as she pulled Glimmer down into the comfy coffin with herself and Poppy, giggling like mad. "Graveyard? Okies, my love!" She answered Rastik, pulling a spider the size of her hand from the depths of the pillows and placing it on her head, as if it were a hat for traveling. The spider didn't seem to mind much and began to probe her scalp with it's front legs as Rastik began to pull the coffin away.
Glimmer falls into the coffin, rights her tutu and makes a quick grab for her cookie pouch, dumping the contents into the coffin. "Where we goings Rusty Sacks! It's nice that you has a coffin dragger Spyder. Taklinn doesn't drag me anywheres. I fly most times and he just gets all grumbly bumbly. TO THE GRAVEYARD!" Glimmer hiccups and pulls her flask out, passing it to the other two Fae. "It's Firewater and Taklinn let's me have it. Be carefuls because it burns your gutsies a bit."
The dwarf retracts his hand. While he doesn't like to judge anyone before getting to know them, all it takes is one insult to put them on his bad side... permenantly. He spits on the ground as the Hoot drags off his coffin, and mutters under his breath, inaudible to those around him "Don't get too comfy here, Hoot...less that graveyard become a permanent home for ya."
The number of fae in such close proximity begins to have a visible effect on the golem. His lights and markings glow brighter and being to emit a low screeching sound. When pelted with spiders, Rune's crabs emerge from from their crevices to do glorious battle. The golem seems unphased by the critters covering it's stones.
"Hold, Rastik. Let this one save you some time." The golem hold up one stone palm, and pulls a tome out of a pouch with the other. The books falls open, and afew pages flip seemingly of their own will. Rune begins to emit strange sounds that resemble words, and glyphs float off the pages of the book. A small pea sized light shoots from he golem's open hand, and expands into a -portal- in front of Rastik. "That should take you to the graveyard. Glimmer, please give the rabbits to the Apprentice." Rune closes the book with a thump, puts it back into it's pouch, and then addressees Poppy, "This one is not taking a slave, as those golems were. If anything, this one is improving their standard of living. This one is removing them from a predator filled environment to live in a controlled environment to be simply observed. You are welcome to check in on them. This one might need your druidic talents in time." The golem seems to focus it's attention at Poppy's mask, "Strange. Fae did not immediately consume sweets. Hesitation. Perhaps hiding a malady? Further inquiry needed. Schedule for later date."
Pelle brushed off a few of the spiders that landed on his arm, not being phased by the little creatures in the slightest. "I'll be happy to show you and your fae wife to the graveyard, Mr. Rastik. As it happens, I am in need of a little help cleaning up the place as is and would love the company." He was about to begin walking in the direction when Rune opened the portal in front of the warlock. "Or we could go the faster route i suppose. It would save you a good bt of dragging I suppose." With that, the riven sauntered through the portal, beckoning the Urodeq and Unseelie to follow.
As Garen was hopping from headstone to headstone in the graveyard, practicing his mid-combat balance, he was briefly distracted by the portal appearing in front of his eyes. He lost his footing, but as he slipped he caught a tree limb with his free hand and pulled himself up into the branches to see what happened next. He saw a familiar face, Well bits and pieces from a variety of faces really, the Uordeq thought to himself with a chuckle, and dropped down. "Hello Pelle, you may not remember me but we met briefly in Tarkalsys before that business with the zombies. If you don't mind my asking, what exactly is happening here, with portals appearing in graveyards and whatnot? There are easier ways to go shoe shopping you know", Garen said with a light-hearted smirk.
Poppy takes the flask and stiffs the top of it, whatever is in it was strong. She fused for a bit over whether or not she should drink it before deciding to anyway. She pulled down her mask and took a quick swig of it before pulling her mask back up. After she swallowed it she coughed and gaged a bit. "Oh shit, she was not joking about the burn, but thats the worst part" She said nudging Spyder with the flask. "Yea, your hubbie seems super nice dragging your coffin around and stuff" "And I will get to sees the graveyard I have not been to that part of town quiet yet" she said excitedly
Poppy peaks over at rune to sees all the crabs flood from his rocks. On seeming them she decides that she wants one to come over in the coffin with her. She makes oddly crab like clicking noises from her mouth to get ones attention when their eyes lock. Her eyes seem to get a warm and friendly glaze over them followed by more of the same clicking noises. The crab makes it way off Rune and towards her when it get close enough she scopes it up off the ground places it on her shoulder seemingly proud of her new critter friend. Poppy head perked back towards Rune when she heard him speak her name. "Okay, I will hold you to that and check up on them. I speak rabbit as well so I will know if you are treating them badly" She said nodding. She cringed a bit at the later half of Rune statement the implications of the word malady seem to have a negative effect on the fae's mood as her wings droop slightly lower.
"It doesn't really look like much," Rastik proclaimed as he walked. He watched his wife dart back and forth across the road, chuckling to himself. He stops on one side of the road, sets down the coffin and drops the rope from his shoulder. The wooden lid creaks as the Uordeq opens it. He reaches inside and produces a large black cobra which he then drapes around his neck. "Spyder, come have a rest with us," he called to the Unseelie and patted the top of the coffin next to him.
