I've been wanting to get into LARP for some time now, but I could never find a place both affordable and interesting and without needless limitations. From what I've seen on this site so far, this looks like a solid place, but I must ask, how friendly is this game to someone completely new to LARPing as a whole?
I'm currently struggling to pin down what race I want to play! I know I don't want to be human, as I am always more interested in something a little extra, but you guys have so many cool races! I love all the choices!
Anyways, just wanted to say hello while I am galavanting about the lore and whatnot. I'm planning on attending the event in April if you'll have this poor newbie.
I've sadly come across the hours in which the gates close for the start of each event. My commute would put me either just at or a little past an 8:30 arrival depending on traffic due to my job. :C just as I was getting into what I wanted to make, too. Ah, well, that's what I get for living so far away.
The only way I can make it is if I take a vacation day, which I think I get them before April. I'm not 100% sure, so if anything I would need to wait for my first game sometime well after the season starts.
I was actually drawn in by the Empyrean just because I love those types of characters. All mystic and somewhat elusive.
I think I'm set on empyrean, but I want to go all out with the celestial bits. I'm waiting on the new stuff to settle on a class, but I am pretty interested in being a healer!
So far my encounters with you guys have been pleasant, so I am definitely encouraged and excited to try this out!
Glad to see someone new interested in coming. This game and community are very newbie friendly. Your first night at the game has a dedicated adventure that you will go on the teach you the safety rules and game mechanics. Forum activity is low this time of year since we are in the off season, but there are usually a few people in the sites built in chat that will be happy to answer questions.
