"Hullo? Anyone in there?"
The short, bespectacled human woman waits for a moment outside the closed door to the Healer's Den before calling out once more.
"Hullo?"
Silence.
"These tomes are extremely heavy, you know!"
More silence.
Huffing, the woman shifts the pile of books in her arms in an attempt to peer around them. The Den appears to be empty at the moment. That or she was being ignored. Either way, she'd been carrying this load of books since she'd stepped through the gate and arms would not bear the strain much longer.
Craning her neck around the stack of books in front of her, she focused her mind on the large wooden door in front of her and chanted "I will the power of the wind to open your doors to me." A gust of wind burst forth in front of her, causing the door to fling open and knock against the inside wall.
"Looks like Numeris'spells of warding have faded. They should take more care when leaving this place unattended."
She found that the Den was indeed empty as she shuffled across the floor. She found a clean table sitting against a wall in the far corner and with a loud grunt of relief, let the stack of books fall noisily upon it.
A note, addressed to her, caught her eye:
Dear Adyslaine,
I'm very sorry I am not there to meet you. I just received an urgent call from Firelily. Make yourself at home as much as possible. Numeris left all of his notes with me and I have locked them up for safekeeping. Of course, they are all yours when I get back to the Den. I hope you will enjoy your stay until you can get the Tower rebuilt, or if it is your intention to build something new altogether.
