Following the chorus of cricket chirping that accompanied the , Nick and I have gone ahead and decided to increase non-human skill affinities with their respective trade skills from weak to moderate.
What does this mean? Essentially, it means that humans are still a good choice for being tradesmen, as they are in all other things. However, if you plan on mastering a trade skill, a non-human race is now likely to be the better choice.
For anyone playing a non-human with a race-appropriate trade skill, the change is effective immediately, so you should see a retroactive increase in your available skill points. If you want to take those skill points and use them to gain additional ranks in your trade skills, just let me know and I'll push it through automatically.
For anyone playing a human who wants a race change, just let me know and I'll make it happen. This change was designed to encourage a greater mix, so we're hoping at least a few humans decide to make the switch.
Oh, and since I know a bunch of people will go looking as soon as they read this, I've gone ahead and included a list of trade skill affinities by race below.
