Taklinn walks back into town from mining and stops and views the statues of his two friends. He walks over to the side with Thalenir and begins to speak "Ye were a good sort lad, even fer a mage. Ye had a good heart and ye always treated me with respect and humility. Yer to be missed, and I will always remember the Empreyan who helped me so many times." Taklinn takes a knee at the foot of the wall, and pulls a gem out of his bag. He digs a small hole and buries it at the base of the wall where Thalenir stands vigil. He then bows low to the statue and walks over to where Haven stands vigil over the road. He pulls a small piece of silver ore from his pouch and buries it similarly to how he buried the gem in front of the wall. "Milady, many is the times ye picked me up when I fell, and I know that many a time it was without me thanks. I'm not sure what ye two did when I was flung into the midst of the Army, but I know it was ye that picked me up one last time when I fell." With a rim of moisture in his eyes he continues, "By me beard, I promise ye that ye shall not have died in vain. I will see this army flung from our home, and ensure that yer sacrifices are not forgotten." He then pulls his broken arm out of its sling with his good hand, and cuts his hand with the blade of his axe. He takes out a smithy hammer and grasps it in his bloody hand before putting it in the hole with the silver. "By me beard, I will see it done!" he growls defiantly to the heavens.s He then cover the hole, and bows low to the statue before once again entering the town of Jastrey.
Rasiri appears one dusk just as the sun touches the horizon. He slowly makes his way toward the now statues of his former comrades. He makes his way to Thalenir and kneels down very quietly at his feet. He murmers something under his breath very reverently then says, "Thaleenir, you vere one of my faforite peeople in town. you nefer judged me und you nefer had a bad opinion of me. You shall be missed." He slides his hand into a pouch at his side and pulls out a small brush and a jar of black liquid and starts to paint a small symbol on his ankle. He begins to sing a quiet, wordless song that sounds strongly of a lament. He slowly backs away from Thalenir and bows, then turns to Haven. He takes a few steps and kneels down just as with thalenir and repeats the symbol. Then stands up and says, "Haven, you vere an amasing healer, vith the kindest heart i haff efer seen. You vere an Ixifar of great love and passions. You vill be missed." He repeats his lement and then takes two steps back into the darkness as a single tear falls from his eye.
Vi happens to see Glimmer and Taklinn and walks over to them, looks at the statue, cocks his head to the right and looks back at Taklinn and Glimmer and asks 'hey guys I'm new so umm why is it everyone is going to that statue and paying respects? Was it a great worrior or something of the sorts?"
Atasatch is seen walking towards the statues of the the two. He maintains his distance aways from anyone else. His hood srawn Atasatch satnds in silence staring in awe and sadness at the statues of his former friends. He drops to one knee and holds his position in silent prayer. After Atasatch has said his prayer in silence he turns and walks back toward the tavern his coat swinging gentaly in the wind.
Ripper paced just along the fringe of the woods, staring toward the statues and the few that gathered during the day. Her wings pressed against her shoulders to narrow her silhouette as best they could while waiting for the full cloak of night. It seemed as if she were always waiting for the night, always waiting for the irritating sting of the sun to melt away from the land. Waiting for the living to retreat to their beds where the constant reminder of their life was less a danger.
Once she was sure that the last well-wisher of the day had taken their leave, she slipped onto the battlefield, grass still matted and brown with the remnants of violence. Every time her boot crushed a blood-soaked blade the smell, dried and dessicated as it was, slithered through her like a siren's song. Her hands tightened around the straps of her leather pack, sharp black talons slicing neat half-moon marks into her palms as if the flesh were made of wax.
As the toes of her boots near the rubble of the wall and the statues standing beneath it she slows and takes a quiet seat on one of the larger hunks of stone and mortar. The pack hits the ground with a muffled bounce, its flap falling open to reveal a mass of black fabric and needles. Firey eyes settle onto the reminders of her fallen friends, and then drop away with something almost akin to guilt as she draws out the fabric and begins to stitch. The material seems difficult to work with, even with the night's air calling to her blood and empowering it. No mere cloth. What's more abnormal than this, though, is the sound rising from the area. First a placid hum, and then the sound of song.
"Before I got to fighting...or when fighting got to me
I looked to find examples of the fields of chivalry
I saw mighty arms much stronger than my arms would ever be
And I thought perhaps the field was not for me
But I stayed and watched the fighting 'til one figure stood apart
In armour newly fashioned and a helm more pot than art
But each blow was thrown with honour and a lightness of the heart
So I took that step which soon became a start
'Cause he was not the biggest fighter nor one to raise a fuss
But I remember being proud that he was one of us
And we might never stand together in the shield-wall side by side
But because of him I lift my sword with pride
She was ladylike and lively, not the type you would expect
With a braver heart than many and a slot-shot to respect
I guess she'd once decided this was where she'd like to be
And I thought, if she could do it, why not me?
'Cause she was not the biggest fighter nor one to raise a fuss
But I remember being proud that she was one of us
And we might never stand together in the shield-wall side by side
But because of her I lift my sword with pride
So now as I gather armour, bits and pieces, here and there
I think about examples: how you act and what you dare
Cause you never know who's watching or how far the story goes
And where'er they both are I hope they know
'Cause they were not the biggest fighters, nor ones to raise a fuss
But I remember being proud they were one of us
And we might never stand together in the shield-wall side by side
But because of them I lift my sword with pride."
With the night wearing on, the fabric begins to retake shape. At last, the vampire stands, holding a black tabard against herself and stroking it with one hand. Black as night and deepened by the blue base beneath, with a fanged skull embroidered at its bottom in bone white. Looking up, from the project, a small smile shows the barest tip of fangs.
"You were right, blue didn't suit me...but I think we'd all agree that this does. I'll wear it with pride, to remind myself of what the New Dawn represents."
Sitting now on the ground beneath her stone, Ripper folds the fabric across her lap and settles in to guard the statues for the night. Ensuring that neither beast nor man can approach without being aware of the marble-pale sentry and her locked features. As if to purposely betray fenced emotions, a slick red drop traces the curve of a round cheek and dangles from her jaw before somersaulting down onto the tabard.
Finally able to take a moment to herself, Akon travels the path through the gates. For the first time she sees the statues, which she recalled looked very much more alive the last time she saw the two individuals. Curious though, for her only memory was of them standing at the gate the first and last time she saw them. She also looks around the field, seeing the bloodshed and the gruesom remenants of the bloody battle that had taken place in her absence. She frowns, kneeling down and running her fingers through the grass, feeling the browned and dried blood on the soft green blades. "Hmmm..." She looks back up to the statues, seeing fire and scorch marks around the wall, but no sign of damage on the wall itself. She wanders closer to the richly adorned statues and studies them a moment, before placing her palm to the shoulder of Haven. (Inspect Corpse).
Glimmer sees Taklinn ath the statues and waits quietly for him to come through the gates. As he does, she reaches a hand to him, placing it on his broken arm and says quietly "My love for you will heal this." (Regenerate) She then places her hand in his and repeats "My love for you will heal this too." (Heal 5) Glimmer then walks to Haven's statue and says "You taught me what I knew of the healing ways. I'll never forget you. She places several gems at the base of Haven's statue and mvoes to address Thalenir's statue. "My dear friend and mage extrodinaire. We shall all miss you." Glimmer places another strand of gems around Thalenir's statue and walks back with Taklinn.
