As the sun rises above the tide, a shoreline comes into view. The land beyond the immediate portside seems barren, save for a few scattered market booths. The Lucky Dice pulls into port and drops anchor.
As you step out onto the docks, a mix of Spirehorn and Vorhex shuffle about, somewhat aimlessly, though not together. At the sight of the ship, an ominous, eerie quiet seems to hover around you. There are several smaller trade ships at port. Booths with various adventuring items and foods are roughly assembled in a makeshift sea-side market.
Fjolnir steps onto the docks and inhales deeply. He scowls at the scent and spits through his beard. "Angor." The word comes out as a curse. He takes a long look around, placing both hands on his hip, making sure one rested just above the head of his axe. The Dwarf didn't care if it made him look aggressive. The entire continent was aggressive, and that put the wizard on edge. It didn't take long for Fjolnir to notice the energy he was focusing into the palm of his hand. Light began to gather around the Dwarf's hand. He flexed his palm, let out a grumble, and the light dispersed. He needed a drink.
Thimble had satisfied her need to observe the new and exciting things that the booths in Daralon had to offer, only walking away with one item that she potentially has planned to use for her healing performances. She was now back to being very much focused on the task at hand, finding out if her friends were here. The only problem was, she had a feeling if she tried to talk much to any of the Angori roaming around, that they'd dismiss her or not even acknowledge her, since she was so small and had no horns, that and when she was roaming around the booths she'd gotten a few looks.
"Hmm... Guess I'll have to try and talk to someone that isn't an Angori... Looking for non-Angori folks is going to be a pain." She murmured with a sigh, all she'd seen were Angori for the past couple of days. With a shrug, she hiked her bag up on her shoulders, making a clinky noise, before humming and walking around some more, this time closer to the docks and piers.
As she glanced over the ships and those that were coming off of them, she noticed one ship that didn't look very much like the others. Blinking a few times, she stopped and looked at it for a minute before looking at the dock that it was latched to. Thimble noticed a dwarf standing next to the ship, looking very annoyed and on edge that he had just arrived. Maybe he wouldn't be the best person to ask either.. After debating in her head for a good minute or so, she slowly walked over to the dwarf until she was about six feet away from him.
"Eerm... Excuse me. I don't mean to bother you, but do you by chance know anyone from a place called Jastery? If so, would you mind pointing me in the right direction as to where they are and such?" Her voice was a bit higher pitched then when she normally talked, but this wasn't uncommon for her when she was talking to strangers.
After the ship drops anchor and some of the residents of the ship leave, Leofrick stands up from his sitting spot, stretches and begins to walk off the ship. "Ah, Angor. I haven't been here in a long time. I hope that I can find something to keep myself in check on this shard."
As the ship approaches shore, Blaise climbs down the rope ladder from his perch on the mizzen mast. As he disembarks the ship, he takes in the sights and smells of this strange and unfamiliar land. He feels the sense of danger and adventure in the air, and the runes on his face and body glow a bit brighter from all the excitement.
After gathering her things, Binx returned to the deck of the Lucky Dice. She paused before stepping onto the gangplank, looking out over the bit of Angor visible from the ship. She had learned a decent amount about Angori from her lessons back in the Shadelands as well as in her time with the Korgons, enough to recognize the different subspecies and to know that writing was a lost art in this place. Barbaal was entirely illiterate, after all. She forced a hand through her strikingly red hair with a sigh. It was dawn, she was on edge, and about to walk into the territory of horned neanderthals.
Takklinn, growing impatient with Binx in front of him, goes around the gangplank and stands upon the rail. After a moment of calculation and figuring he leaps from the ship towards the docks, landing in some nets and ropes coiled upon them. As the dwarf emerges from the tangle, it seems that he did not fully extricate himself overbalances, and mumbles "By Githal's fartin' arse" before slowly falling into the water.
"Damned Hoots!" he exclaims as he begins trying to swim back to shore (Puissance/Propel).
With a sound akin to an avalanche, Rune composes him self in a flurry of stone and magic. Rune's markings and runes pulsate as the golem takes an inventory of all of it's parts, making sure he didnt leave anything behind in the teleport. The golem's face is hidden by an iron gorget: only two motes of like floating under his hood hint that this construct is 'alive'.
Rune's docent flickers to life finally, allowing him to move. The golem turns it's head just in time to see Talkinn go for a swim. He also notes the Iftrit convict, the fae-haired urodeq, and the dead woman walking away. The golem starts after her, determined glean information about her animation, but is stopped by what the golem mistakes for a fearful child. Rune's docent flashes twice as the golem makes a decision, and then he squats so he is eye level with Thimble. "What do you need child?"
Ablelar crosses the gangplank and into the land of the angory. "this could be interesting" he mutters underneath his breath as he sees the dwarf already in the water when Ablelar saw the construct he eyed it for a minute as if he remembers his last exeuction, but doesnt. Ablelar continues to follow the crowd
The gangplank sighs as the Angori steps on. With his head higher than normal, armor fit straight and polished horns in the afternoon sun he gazes around the port where the ship had landed. He does not meet eyes with any of the other passengers of The Lucky Dice. His gaze wanders about the docks and beyond. Barbaal felt a sense of being at home.
A snicker brightened the Uordeq's demeanor behind her mask for just a moment watching Taklinn's folly. She stepped carefully onto the dock, but her amusement was short-lived as Barbaal passed her. "Where have you been?" She asked, her words nearly a growl as she followed after him. He had been missing in the fight against the giants.
While standing there, waiting for a reply, Thimble's hopes quickly dwindled, the Dwarf either didn't hear her or was ignoring her. She decided that looking down at her feet and shuffling around was a better idea until she heard a large splash almost directly next to her, causing her to jump farther away from the edge of the docks.
"Eeek!" She shrieked before hesitantly shuffling over to peer over the edge, squinting to get a good look but was interupted by what appeared to be a large rock man. Her brows pulled together at the word child and drawn-in-lips frown formed on her face. "Child? I'm no child, I'm just small, but mighty." She nodded with slight giggle, taking a look at the face of the man rock, only to see a gorget that hid the lower half of his face.
"Though I guess I do need a thing." She admitted. "I'm looking for people that once lived in Jastery. I thought I might be able to find them here. Oh and my name is Th-erm, well it's Carlin, but they'd know me as Thimble."
The golem's normally gently pusling runes freeze for a moment, and then return to thier normal flowy state. "Most of those that came in on this boat are Jasterians. This one was animated in front of the Shady Corners" says the golem, tapping his docent as he speaks about his creation. "Why do you seek them, mighty one?"
"Oh!" She exclaimed, realizing she wasn't excited as she thought she would have been to have found them, though still really excited. "Well, that's a bit of a long story... Basically, I left because I wasn't myself, and now that I'm more myself, I've been looking for the people from Jastery, to help get back to Jastery! Don't you kinda miss Jastery?" She tilted her head as she asked. "I mean, it sounds like you were there for a short time, but still, I'm sure you miss it a little, that's where you came from!" She said enthusiasticlly, as if trying to get him motived in getting back to Jastery. "Oh I just realized something very rude of me, you know my name but I don't know yours, might I know your name?" Thimble inquired the golem.
Thimble sighed at the reminder of Jastery's current situation. "Yeah... I was told of such things, wished they weren't true, but they are. However, I believe that there is still hope, that's why I was able to get here so fast, I was training a bit in Doomsend, before I was just a bard, but now I've worked on my warrior skills a bit and can use this!" She excitedly reached around her and shifted around the giant shield that was on her back to the front, smiling happily as she presented to Rune a some what circular shield that was white and yellow with a sun in the middle of it.
Thimble pulled her lips to one corner of her mouth and rocked back and forth on her feet, after having put the shield back on her back, looking to the side and down. "No.. Not yet anyway, I want to be. And I thought you were some kind of Paladin with the title after your name and all. So you're honorable? I wonder what title I'd be given if I became a Paladin. Hopefully not something like "the Tiny". What kind of trials were they like? They weren't too challenging were they? Are there other Paladins from Jastery, or just you?"
Rune's markings blink faster and irregularly as it tries to keep up with and answer each question as they come. At the end of the gnome's tirade, the golem's docent flashes and the runes calm back down into an even glow. "Find this one in a few days time, and your questions will be answered."
The sounds of splashing and thrashing about in the water are heard below just before the gnarled hands of a dwarf can be seen grasping the boards of the dock. A wet and irritable Taklinn pulls himself uponto the dock. He sits down and removes a boot dumping the water out of it. He looks up to the Gnome and says "Seems the shield made it to ye alright. Hope ye've learned ta' use it; hate ta' waste a good bit o' Mithril. May it serve ye well."
As he empties his remaining boot he says "Yer not needin' a fancy title ta' do the right thing lass; though surroundin' yerself with people ye can trust is always sound judgement. Never think ye have anything ta prove ta anyone, yer actions are yer only thing that ye have full control over and are what ye' will be judged by in the end. Call on me if ye ever need anything and know that ye have support. Welcome back to us, though I would prefer ta be sayin' welcome home from the front gate at the Citadel."
Thimble looked over and watched the person that had caused the loud splash to climb up on to the docks. "Taklinn!" She exclaimed enthusiastically and proceeded to listen to what he had to say, nodding a few times as she talked. "Yes, I'm very thankful for this shield, it works perfectly. I'm glad to see familiar faces again, and hope that we'll be able to find a way to fix Jastery, the Citadel with it too." She smiled brightly, looking around and noticing it was getting fairly dark. "Hmmm.. Probably should find some place to sleep for the night..." She murmured and with that, she went to looking for an inn that they'd likely be able to stay at.
Good time of day to enter a new place. Thimble remarked to herself in thought while watching the sun slowly rise over Daralon. She had stopped a moment to enjoy the view, not to mention her legs and back were a bit tired, she had been walking for an exceptionally long time. She could feel a warm and bubbly feeling stir in her chest as she began walking again, rather clinkily too since she had all her possessions either on, in the bag on her back, or strapped to said bag or to her belts. With a little skip in her step, she made her way to the land entrance of Daralon. In her studies she made before journeying down to Angor, she had read that this was one of the more 'friendly' ports, everywhere else was a bit questionable, so without much hesitation, she had fixed her sights on Daralon, the only place where there would be any chance of seeing her Jastery friends again.
Upon entering, she instantly found a booth that had a whole manner of indigenous herbs, plants, and potions made of the like. Thimble quickly scurried over to the booth and simply gazed at them in awe, completely forgetting about why she'd come here in the first place.
