For awhile now, there's been a line in the PvP rules that states the three-game waiting period to flag, "may only be waived by game ownership, and only for players with past LARPing experience." As of today, I'm removing this part of the flagging rule and requiring every player, regardless of previous experience, to adhere to the waiting period.
This came as a result of questioning our existing PvP players. The feedback overwhelmingly indicated that the wait period should be universal, and included reasons I hadn't previously considered. For instance, new players have not had enough practice with the rules to PvP fairly. They are not as familiar with existing players out of play, which could lead to unnecessary drama. There is a higher potential for trolling. And there are issues of fairness to existing PvPers, none of whom received such a waiver, to consider.
Long story short, there are factors that I hadn't considered when I originally wrote the rule, and the discussion among Nick, Jennifer, and I has concluded that we can't justify granting the waiver under any circumstance. We apologize to those who were being considered for getting their hopes up, and we hope they'll be okay sticking it out for three games like everyone else.
