Read All About It!

Chataya walks into the Shady Corner and sits down near the main entrance. She pulls a piece of parchment from her pouch and spreads it out on the edge of the table, where anyone walking past would most likely notice it and read it. In large letters, the parchment reads:

"I have decided to work on a town newspaper. It has been done before and I believe everyone enjoyed it, so I would like to take the reins and give it a shot. But, I need your help! I need people who know what has been going on to give me details. I believe it will be fun remembering what happened, and fun to share the details with those who were away. I am looking for a couple of people to write recurring articles, a couple of people to give me information, and a couple of people who can submit art [photos] for the paper. I will be paying a small award for art and for secrets! If you helped with the previous newspaper, please join me!"

She settles back and begins writing on a piece of paper. Anyone is able to see what she is jotting down.

Article Ideas:
Thalenir a statue
Scorch defeated!
Rasiri has two children???
Kirell gone forever?
Unseelie in our midst?

Blisdon was seated nearby, one of his arms and bandaged hands pressed to his forehead as if he were nursing a pounding headache as the uordeq stared  with tired, unfocused eyes deeply into the half-full tumbler; vaguely making out his own scruffy and unkempt reflection in the amber fluid.

After hearing the unmistakeable sound of unfurling parchment, Blisdon cast his glance sideways, skimming through the bits and pieces of the text that he could make out from where he was seated. After reading, Blisdon turned his gaze back to his drink, hazily watching this own reflection as the shaman's grim features slowly pulled themselves back into a sort of twisted expression of perplexion- as if debating whether to speak or not.

After staring back at his own drink for several minutes, The uordeq shaman  allowed exhausted sigh to escape from his crumpled and defeated posture and drunkenly turned himself around to face Chataya.

"Hey uh....You know, uh...Chataya.I think I might have a decent story for you later on. As scorch was dying I spoke to what remained of his spirit and learned a fair bit about him"  Groaned out Blisdon,  His voice gravelly and lacking in the shaman's usual boisterous and confident tone.
"and some illumination as to why the immortals failed to protect their own citadel of sorts..."

Blisdon turned back towards his drink, quickly consuming it's contents and grimacing as the cheap liquor began to slide down his throat as he waved his spare arm high, twisting his index finger in the air above him as a signal to the barmaid to send him another.

"Find me in a few days and I'll be more than willing to say what I can, Though I'm unsure about what else I can speak of beyond the doors of the ruins.

Chataya leaned towards Blisdon to better hear his words, shock apparent on her face. "My friend, that would be... wonderful. I am sure many in town would like that information. It has been so long that Scorch has tormented us that I think we have stopped wondering why. Please, whenever you are ready I will be here. Find out what you can and cannot say and get back to me. You will be doing a great service to the town and to those who Scorch has injured!"

She looked him over with concern. "Is there any healing that I may offer that may cure what ails you?"

"Yeah...It's no trouble at all. " Grumbled Blisdon as he closed his large, black eyes tightly and rubbed idly at one of his temples.

"Secrets empower the few while open knowledge strengthens the whole."

With impressive speed, the barmaid delivers Blisdon his new drink which he accepts with a slow nod of his head and an exchange of several coins.

"Thank you for the offer Chataya, but all the curatives I need are right here in this tavern's liquor cabinet."

*he casually walks in wondering what the commotion was about and he reviews the paper and headlines with a glace he walks out with a chuckle and laugh not to offend anyone but they may end up believing he did but he was far to deep into his thoughts to care he takes a nice long walk in the woods and he thinks about the other.....*

As she walk's in, Syra notice's the parchment and begins to read. An amused smirk runs across her face and she nods her head. Glancing over to Chataya she see's the article ideas that have been written, the smirk  fades and her eyes grow wide. With out saying a word a gasp escapes from Syra's mouth, she quickly turns and walks out.

Leofrick watches his sister quickly leave the tavern and chuckles with pipe in hand. "Her life just got interesting. Welcome to my life dear sister, you need all the help you can salvage."  Leofrick the procedes to smoke and drink his afternoon away whilst reading his book.

Passing Leofrick, Syra snarls and turns her nose up. Continuing at her fast paste she fades off into the distance.

After hearing the commotion behind him, Blisdon let out a deep and repulsive grumble under his breath and finished his second drink in a single, terrifying gulp that bulged his cheeks and throat as it made it's way down the Shaman's throat.

"Welcome to fucking jastrey" angrily muttered the dwarf to himself as he stood up from his chair and started to make his way to the door.

"Where the gossip is as potent as an uordeqs manjuice. I gotta get out of here. I've got to do something that matters."

With a polite nod to the fellow healer as he passed, Blisdon left without a further sound.

"Watch your tone, it's gotten me into situations I could not handle." Leofrick looks over towards the parchment and reads the parchment.  "Well, aren't we popular now, if thing were busy, it shall even be more fun."

Katri passes Chataya as she enters the Shady Corners. Noticing the parchment she pauses to scan it's contents. A news paper for Jastrey... Things would likely get quite interesting, particularly if rewards were being offered for secrets. Those with things to hide would have to tread even more lightly it seemed. She looked at the Ixifar, a small smile set into her features beneath the shade of her hood and leather half mask and began, "You have quite the interesting idea, Miss Chataya-"

It was then that the article ideas being writtin by the woman on a second piece of paper caught her attention. Rasiri has... two children? Her eyebrow raised slightly beneath the piece of black leather covering the upper half of her face and her smile almost seemed to falter. Quickly, however, she erased any sign of surprise or notice from her face- as if it had never existed to begin with. So long as the other claimed no Uordeq or Cassitran blood, she'd never need care to know. The thought of anyone chosing her former brother as a mate could simply continue to mystify and intrigue her. The young Uordeq woman continued as though the break in her speech was deliberate before taking her leave to a solitary corner at the back of the tavern, "I hope the venture works out for you. I know I certainly look forward to seeing any successful results."

Chataya nodded at the Uordeq girl as she spoke. "I hope so as well," she said to Katri's retreating back. "Let me know if you have anything you'd like to share." A small smile crossed her face, as she turned back to what she was writing.

She then adds to the parchment at the edge of the table.

"Also, we will be having an Ask Sally column. We have several questions submitted, ranging from the absurd to the strange, to the serious. If you would like some advice, or any questions answered, please drop me a letter on the nearest fae courier, and I will submit them to Sally. You can be anonymous if you wish, or you can publish your name."
