"With a cough, Tregard goes into scholar mode. “Ressik, also known as the Supreme Lawgiver rose to power after the Great Strife. His followers quickly took over Sardia and have been spreading their hateful message since. Ressik, himself has not been seen, yet somehow his word is law. Anarchy, lawlessness, magic, and demihumans are anathema to him. This unwavering position has him opposed to most of the other Immortals. It seems only, Our Lady in Light, Istensia seems to be the only Immortal allied with him. It seems her new sect, the Lightbrighters, may be Ressik's goons in disguise."
The bard tone changes with anger. "Ressik's followers are a military theocracy with a tight hierarchy . Little is know to outsiders what goes on within its organization. They are ruthless and thorough. They have rationalized their beliefs into “truths” which any dissent is quashed. Yet, as horrific as the Ressik's idealogy sounds, its not the thing that worries me the most. Its Field Marshal Douglas that gives me the nightmares.".
“You are correct, Lady Healer. I apology for being subjective on the topic in discussion.” Tregard sits wearily amongst his papers. His head hangs between his knees. “ Master Lucius would be upset with my oratory skills. It is hard to separate emotions from reason when dealing with Ressik.”
After moments of silence, the bard lifts his head. He smiles weakly at the Ixifar, “Maybe a group of reasonable people can think of a solution to your less than rational problem.” As he stands, he casts a furtive glance around him. “Perhaps this group should included an avian disciple and a earth-dwelling mage,” he whispers. “Can we say the witch's hour at the Warrior's Hall”
Tregard gathers his work and prepares to leave. He stops at the oak shading the den and turns back towards Rhadama. “I leave you with a question. Well two questions. If Ressik' army is so thorough and vindicative, why hasn't there been any reprisals for the last months breakout? What is so important to Field Marshal Douglas that he has forgotten to disciplined some freaks?
"Thank you for the information, my friend. Indeed, zealots who are convinced that their intolerance is divine truth are very difficult to deter. Perhaps we could find some way to reason with this Douglas or to make him doubt the rightness of his convictions." Rhadama says, twirling a feather between her fingers.
