Following an otherwise quiet night, the sun peaks over the horizon, casting light on a disturbing scene. The door to Ripper the fairy's cabin stands wide open, creaking precariously on a single hinge. Bits of cloth, blood, and fur lay strewn about the ground amidst a jumble of both animal tracks and pixie-sized footprints. Ripper's sword and shield lay broken in the road, but the fairy herself is nowhere to be found.
Nail Stormbringer runs up to the horrific scene, noticing the comotion caused by Glimmer. "What's happened here? Where's Ripper?" The Human notices the blood on the floor and draws his longsword, battle senses tingling.
"I've heard rumors that a lynx has been prowling around Ripper's cabin. Have either of you heard the same thing?," he asks, turning to Glimmer and Astrum.
Glimmer raises her voice slightly to calm her friends and says "Dearest friends, do calm yourselves. We have no more information than you. And Nail, if this was done by a Lynx, Ripper stands more than a fair chance being half Lynx. Sheath your swords men. We do not want to scare it off should it be in the area. It may be the only hope we have for a clue right now. I vote that we all go back to the tavern together. We need to find Thalenir and Dreygor to make them aware of Ripper's disappearance. Let's gather our townpeople there, and the new ones to. I'm suspicious of them all and don't trust that Fae as far as I can throw her. I want more than myself to watch their faces as we announce that Ripper is gone. Are you with me, dearest friends? I want justice for what has been done here. Ripper is as close to being my neice as any one non blood related could be. I grew up with her father. Please help me friends. Let's be o our way for those of you coming with me to the tavern."
Moving quickly from the direction of town Garith gathers the others around Ripper's cabin. "My friend we must act quickly in this manner. Rasiri begin searching around the cabin for tracks. Stiers, Nail and Atasatch set up a patrol around this area but stay within earshot so when Rasiri finds something you can move quickly. If anything is found quickly report back to me in the tavern. Thank you my friends." With a nod Garith takes Glimmer by the shoulder, "Come my lady this is not a sight for your eyes. Let us go and council within the tavern."
Nail ignores the fairy's request and keeps his sword drawn, wary of an attack on other friends. He nods to Garith and turns to Stiers and Atasatch. "Right then. Stiers, Ata, come with me. Spread out, but stay within sight of each other. If something is crafty enough to capture Ripper, I don't trust it."
Nail and his companions venture into the woods in the general direction that the pool of blood seems to indicate, weapons drawn and senses tingling.
Taklinn and Glimmer begin searching around the cabin and start into the foods following what appears footprints. After a few minutes of grumblin and cursing, Taklinn says to Glimmer "I can't see the tracks well enough. Ye may as well quit sobbin, and get to glowin'. Be useful or we'll be out here all night." They continue thrashing through the woods by the faint glow of the faerie...
After a long and unfruitful nit not able to find Stiers and Rasiri, Glimmer and Taklinn head back to the tavern. When Garith stops them on the path, Glimmer says "Dearest friend, I fear our efforts were uneventful We were unable to find either of them. Good luck." Glimmer looks to Taklinn and says "Taki-Sacks, whilst I fear you see me as only a bother, I do so wish to thank you for your aid last night. I do apologize for your having to thrash about in the woods, but your effort means more to me than you are able to understand at this point. I do so hope we learn information on Ripper's whereabouts soon. I am beginning to fear the worst. Thank you." Glimmer bends down slightly and kisses Taklinn on the cheek and gives his beard a playful tug. They continue on their way to the tavern, Glimmer flitting along and chattering rapidly, nerves quite undone.
As Glimmer and Astrum approach Ripper's cabin from their walk from the tavern, Glimmer notices Ripper'd sword and shield in the road. Glimmer quickly reaches for Astrum's arm and ca do no more than point and say "Dear Astrum, I fear something is wrong here. Very very wrong. Those are Ripper's" pointing to the sword and shield. As they near the cabin, Glimmer sees the blood and fur, and the mess of footprints. "Dearest Astrum, I fear I may need your strength at this time. I must find her. We must get back to the town and let our other residents know of this. I simply must find her. She is family, afterall.. Close enough at least. I'd like for you to look over the cabin with me to see if we can find any more clues and then we shall head back to the tavern quickly."
