Early in the morning, a green figure carrying a crooked staff slips into the Shady Corner and plops herself down at a table halfway between the two exits. She digs into her pouch and pulls out a wrinkled piece of parchment, a ragged red feather, and a small bottle of ink that she procured from somewhere.
She starts writing slowly, in large letters, as if she hasn't had much practice at putting pen to parchment.
"Ogubal,
Peeple of Kardul nice to goblins. Taak Rivka on addventrues. No try to kill Rivka like yous say. Plees comes visit Rivka and Ig soon! Tell Grix, Azagal, Ghashrod, Uruk com to... "
The goblin looks up nervously as someone enters the tavern, then relaxes again when she sees Ohren and not something about to eat her. "Rivka make so many new friends that Rivka inviting all goblin friends to Kar... er, Jastrey," she replied excitedly in her high pitched voice. "Other goblins told Rivka humies here just kill Rivka. But they wrong! Rivka only have to promise to follow laws and all people now Rivka's friend!"
As the human approaches, Rivka gives him a crooked grin. "Kill lotsa undead. And knolls. Rivka love killing knolls."
looks over at the newcomer. "I'm so not in the mood right now!" as he pulls his blade out. Looks back at Rivka and puts it back in place. "No worries hun. Luna not with me. I actually just got back into town not long ago. Undead and Knolls huh? To bad i missed all the fun"
Ohren grunts when the weapon is drawn reaching for his club and shield. When the blade is put away he sets them down in a ready to reach area. "you forgedded de scaley drakey tingys and dos bees. Der was also a confuzleing tingy dat happened wif Bacon and da dwarfs and eatin demons and stuffs" Ohren keeps his eyes on keyoda watching his every move.
Chataya glanced towards the table when she say Keyoda heading towards them. She noticed Rivka trying to eavesdrop and smiled kindly. "Rivvie, my darling friend, there is no reason to try to overhear. This is not necessarily a private conversation. You may join us if you wish, so as not to strain your ears, however I would like to request that that you let the sheriff and I have our conversation in peace," she says.
Ohren looks around. "de dwarveses wanted to kill Bacon. der was big talky time. dwarves keep sayin dat shes a sucabus and dey need to kill her. den da stachu guy from da wall comed and made more talkin time. we maked a vote and dey dont kill her or taked her cheriffness." Ohren goes and picks up a mug of water and stirs in a redish powder. "mmm tasty"
Azrael, who has been sitting in the far corner of the tavern for some time perks up as he listend to Ohren attempt to explain the events of that night. Seeing Rivka growing more and more confused as Ohren talks he gathers up his blade and walks over.
"At ease friend. We all understand that that night's events were a little beyond you."
Looking now at Rivka. "What my friend here means to say is that there was a witch hunt, and our sherriff, Akon, was the target. It would seem that a portion of the town doesn't believe she should continue to hold authority due to here fiendish appearance, not to mention her race. Unfortunately others in the town, namely a few Paladins wanted only blood. Long story short, the "trial" was ridiculous. Logic got Akon nowhere, and the Paladins... well... their ignorance spoke for itself. It ended with the town's first magistrate coming back to reside over a vote, which supported Akon. Even after this decision though, and after being told that attempting to exact their form of justice on Akon would be breaking rules of their order, the Paladins proceeded to try and hunt her down. They failed miserably.
Ohren plops down next to Rivka. "Hey ribka, whachu scribblin der?" Ohren looks at the parchment but it is obvious he has no idea what it says.
