Astrum walks around town with a stack of papers nailing them to various trees, buildings, etc. The papers read:
'Young wizard in search of a mentor. If any see Dalgoon, please notify me immediately. My name is Astrum and I can be found around town at most any time.'
Walking through town, Wreynn notices the large number of notices hung by Astrum. He pulls one down as a reminder to himself to inform the boy of the appearance of the new wizard that just returned from the Astral plane. Folding it up and placing it inside the binding of his journal, Wreynn heads toward the Shady Corners and laughs a little to himself. "I better bring this back to him fast, or at least before the council threatens to cut off my hands again."
Wreynn walks into the tavern in time to hear someone making a comment about a bunny and looks over to Astrum and Stiers. Curiosity getting the better of him, he walks over and asks, "Are you two talking about a small brown bunny, floppy ears, grating voice, and a very strong likelihood to send us all running toward our death? If so, I'd probably stay away from it. Dalgoon is a mad-man, has no love for candy, and I hear he talks with the spoons."
Wreynn sits down with the pair and opens his notebook. "I just can't trust a man that addled, especially someone as gifted as Dalgoon. I'd sooner suggest you walk alone through the green starred golems to speak with Kessick before seeking out that bunny. Besides, if Ripper gets her way, Dalgoon is more likely to be a snack then a mentor."
Finishing his loaf of meat Kirell turns to face Wreynn.
"The Astral Plane has taken its toll on Dalgoon, no doubt, but I must find him as well."
The Angori crosses the room, and is at the door before turning to once again face his Urdek friend.
"Where was the last place you saw him Wreynn. I must find Dalgoon and I haven't any time to waste."
"In another lifetime, she must have owned the world, or been faithful wed, to some righteous king who wrote song beside moonlit streams".
Wreynn kicks back and leans against the wall, tipping his hat over his eyes and propping his boots on the table.
"Since it seems that everyone is finished eating, I'll go ahead and let you know what happened. Apparently it all started out with all of those animated swords, shields, and golems with the green star pattern emblazoned on them. It seemed that they belonged to yet another famous wizard who hasn't been seen in Jastrey for some time, Kessick - apparently he's the father of Thalenir."
Wreynn looks down to the note, and pushes it toward Astrum, "Oh yeah, Thalenir is back too. You might want to consider talking to him about being a mentor, or at least getting in touch with his father. And Kirell, have you considered asking Tin if you could take a look in the silverware drawer and see if the spoons could point you to Dalgoon?"
The pixie wanders in from outside, toddling in small loops, until she hears the word 'Dalgoon'. She turns quickly, eyes wide, and one could almost picture a pair of perked ears atop her head and a twitching tail.
"Dally-goo? Dally-goo's back?!"
She drops to her hand and knees, peeking beneath tables and swaying along the backside, nose twitching and eyes darting.
"Where'd he go? I dun wanna eat him no more. I just wanna...groom him."
The Angori lunges forward toward Wreynn, and stops just short of knocking him from his reclined position to the floor.
As he begins to speak, Kirell leans down close enough to Wreynn that the heat his stank breathe burns the face of the Urdek.
"We have never been at odds, but I am asking you only for information, and I don't appreciate your evasive answers "URDEK"."
The final word is shouted loud enough to be heard across the street in the Warriors Hall.
As he turns to exit the tavern the Angori kicks the leg from under the chair Wreynn sits in.
"Time will tell who has fell, and who's been left behind, when you go your way and I go mine."
Ripper looks up from where she is, eyes widening and then brows lowering as she snaps up to her feet and dusts herself off. She pauses at the table near the door. Small hands wrap around the handle of her shield and the hilt of her sword as she stalks over to sit near Wryenn and glower at the door.
"...Rude."
Startled by the sudden change in the Angori's demeanor, Wreynn tenses in the chair, bracing for Kirell's wrath. His face softened momentarily as Kirell turned around to leave, but relief turned to confusion as Kirell kicked the leg out from his chair and sent him crashing toward the ground.
Lying on the ground rubbing his head, Wreynn turns to Ripper, "I suppose I had that coming, though, I don't really see how I was at all being evasive. I suppose that I should probably consider helping those two find Dalgoon though. The man's mind seems to have been lost in the verge, and seeing him show up as a bunny, it honestly wouldn't surprise me to find him in the silverware." Wreynn puzzles over his statement for a moment, "or as a teapot. And I wouldn't mind being back in Kirell's good graces. Father always said to never get between an enraged Angori and his prey."
Standing up and brushing himself off, Wreynn adjusts his hat and walks back into the kitchen. "Tin, are you here? I have a matter I might need to discuss with you about your flatware, and possibly your serving dishes."
The pix cocks her head to one side, watching Wryenn very closely as he walks toward the kitchen. She presses a finger against her lips, then spins and teeters off to the corner where the faeries had set up their things and bedding in the tavern nooks. She tosses clothing this way and that, never sending it -too- far from the pile, and finally flops onto her arse with a box in hand.
She draws out a strawberry-printed teacup and spoon, the spoon is placed on its saucer just beyond her toes, the teacup she turns upside-down so that she can pat the bottom.
"Dally-goo? You in there?"
Stiers Reads the note and starts to look for astrum
