Sezen walks into the tavern trying to shake the cold night air off of her. Tired and restless she walks over to a table by the fire and pulls out an unopened letter. She mumbles to herself as she pulls off the golden seal. She takes out a fine piece of paper. The letter is short and written by a heavy hand. Sezen turns white as a ghost, then red and shaking. She reads the letter over again. She stares off blankly for a moment. Stands up and starts yelling in a language most can't understand. "?? ??? ???????! ????? ??? ???? ??? ?????? ???? ?? ???????! ???? ????."
She stops and looks at everyone looking at her. She gives an embarrassed smile. Still furious, she walks over to the fire and tosses in the letter. "???? ? ????????. ????? ?? ??? ??? ???? ??." She closes her eyes and prays. "???? ?? ???? ??? ?? ??? ?????."
She walks over to the bar tender. "The strongest drink you have. And some extra for trouble I caused." Hands them the money plus extra silvers for tip. She knocks it back and asks for another. She moves her hand up to her left shoulder, and contorts her face in pain. She knocks back the second drink. She walks out to the steps and stares as she tries to collect herself.
Sezen looks to be a bit intoxicated and leaning against one of the beams of the porch. She wipes her hands over moist cheeks as she turns to Auri.
"Auri, nice to see you. I was just...." Her words are slurring a little, "Enjoying cold night air and drinking a little. How about you, what have you been up to?" As she pulls her head scarf tight. "Learn anything new?"
"I just heard you yelling and thought I'd see if you were ok."
Auri enters the tavern for a second, coming back out with a couple mugs. He hands one to Sezen and continues leaning on the railing.
"Here ya go. I've just been around the Healer's Guild with Nevara, learning a couple things. What have you been up to?"
Sezen flashes a small smile. She begins to rub her left shoulder again, but looks up at Auri. She suddenly stops and drops her hand back down. "I apologize, I lost my temper. To lose my face is embarrassing. I mean no trouble to anyone. I just received a letter from a pig. He wants his ill-gotten property back." Her face begins to redden. She takes a sip and shakes it off. "Thank you. You are very kind. My troubles are not that important. So, what is Nevara like? Can she be trusted?"
"Nevara is a good person. I trust her and have worked with her for awhile. She seems to have the town's best interests at heart." Auri gulps down half of his mug. "But, you shouldn't downplay your troubles. There are some of us who could possibly help. What sort of person are you dealing with and why is he causing you grief?"
"Sure, while I am at it. Hey! Garein! I keep my money in my shoes while I sleep!" Sezen looks at Auri,"I don't. I am grateful for your words, but a woman in my position has to be guarded. If she doesn't want to be in a Harem. I was raised mostly by men and I can run really well. Running best line of offense." Sezen finishes her drink. "Next round is on me."
Auri walks up the tavern stairs and sees Sezen staring off into space.
"Hey friend, how does today fair for you?"
