Shipwrecked

(OOP, this hook is for Mod A on Saturday.  If you are not in that Mod, please do not respond.)

The Tavern seems more lively today than usual.  A group of individuals are talking up a group of fresh-off-the-ship sailors.  They're all talking about this shipwreck they saw off the coast in a rocky outcrop.  You hear the words, "haunted, dangerous, riches, and curse."  The main interested party is taking notes and nodding to all his fellows.  They thank the sailors, buy them a round of ale and depart.

The Captain stumbles into the Tavern knocking the sand and seaweed off her crimson red cloak, she hears a few words of interest echo across the room and her ears perk up instantly. She walks to the bar and orders Rum she then turns to the sailors with a wicked smile across her face "Aye, riches and curse you say? Sounds like my kind of adventure."

Thomnly, eating his meal in the tavern, looks up from his meal as the captain walks in and hearing the talks from the sailors.

"A cursed ship you say, It would be interesting to see what type of curse that could be. Riches only interest me if there are some new instruments that I haven't had a chance to play. "

The sailor nods to the lady-elf and faun, each in turn.  He then explains, "My crew and I passed right by this cove.  Been by it a hundred times, we have.  Never seen a ship like that before."  He takes a long pull of the ale and sets it down on the table.  It makes a hollow sound as it hits the surface.

He wipes the foam from his mustache and continues.  "Seems like it's been there for years, but I never saw it before.  Never saw a name on the side, but I reckon it's the Ocean's Heart."  He shudders at the name and looks deep into his ale mug.

Leofrick walks into the tavern, noticing the sailors and hearing the conversation, his ears perk. "Haunted and cursed? Sounds like i have work again." Leofrick goes to the bar and orders a drink while pulling out a small slab of raw meat. "About time I found work again. Maybe something of interest is there."

The Captain takes a quick look at the others who enter the tavern, she then turns her attention back to the sailor "A ship that just appears out of no where, hmm sounds interesting. This cove, where is it? I think i might like to go there." she takes a sip of her rum and places it on the bar.

Gaius flutters into the tavern, looking to enjoy a nice meal, when he overhears the sailors and some former townsmates talking about the recently spotted, supposedly cursed ship. He strolls over to the small gathering.

"Hey everyone! So, there's a cursed ship about, huh? Full of treasure? Likely dangerous? Hrm. I'm all for finding out why this thing is cursed. We could save some lives, make some money, keep evil from falling into the wrong hands... who knows? Anyone interested in checking it out?"

Thomnlynn turns to the sailor. "The Ocean's Heart? What happened to it to make you figure that it's that ship? Plus what makes the ship so special?"

As Gaius mentions anyone intrested, Thomnlynn turns the fairy, "Of course people are interested, but I think we should learn all we can about the ship and what happened to it before we run head first into it."

Thomnlynn turns back to the sailor to listen to his response to the question.

The sailor turns to the Faun and nods.  "I can't be certain until someone mad enough takes a look, but ain't no other ship of that make been through this port in an age. It were carrying frightful illegal cargo, from what I hear, and none of the crew e'er came home." The sailor says a prayer to Ivelis under his breath.  He nods to each of the adventurers and sets his empty mug on the bar.  He thanks the lovely bartender and heads out of the bar.  "Ivelis guide you all to safety."

Cadeyrn emerges from the dark corner of the Tavern where he had been drinking. "Aye!! This ship sounds interesting and no superstitious lads are going to scare this dwarf off with talks of a curse, when there is treasure involved". He takes a long sip of his Ale and walk over to Captain. " Those lads seemed frightened by nothing but a ghost story. They have only heared that the ship is cursed. For all we know, it may be just an old ship full of gold that someone found and made up the curse to keep anyone from going there. I say we go look for ourselves and see how cursed this ship really is. What say you?"
