Snack bar?

So, my first event rocked! (Thanks guys!) I did however notice one thing that got me really excited...no snack bar. I usually run/help rum them at other larps so I figured this was were I should test all my knowledge of them. (By test I mean simply implement.) My question for everyone now is, whould this be something you are for or against? I can (and will if everyone wants it) start it up on my own time and money, so don't worry about that. I am willing to run it all by myself unless someone wants their character to work in game for me for ig money or whatever.
Its would be things like monsters and sparkling juices, microwave mac & chees, granola bars, and anything you guys want in simple incrimates of 25 cents all the way up to $1.50. There can be a tab/ prepay system too.So my questions are: Is this something you'd like? What would you like to see at this snack bar? Btdubs, It will be closed during meal times!

Sounds pretty wonderful, actually. Definitely worth giving it a try.

I'd be interested in helping out during my open play time.

If  you need help stocking the store, I have access to costco to get snacks and such.

Having another set of hands to help while I do my monster shift would be great! I'll get a mock menu set up :)

We can Coordinate on that front if you want for menu, and depending on weather, add in seasonal items like snow cones or hot drinks,

If you want characters to run it, we would need to find a way to have an RP reason for the snack bar.  One way to build onto the snack bar is to possibly have an in game bazaar for characters to buy/sell/trade in game items. It would make Haggle more useful and would force people to carry currency in game. (Pending Plot/Admin Approval)

Anything player driven is always fine.  Plot/logistics can't make any extra treasure for that type of thing, though.  It'd have to be all our of our hands.

Talk to plot about having NPCs run the snack bar. We have the bazaar online, I doubt they would be able to integrate anything involving this into it.

Jenn,

WIth Plot/Logistics adding positions to reduce their workload, I wouldn't dream of trying to add anything to a workload. Plus I would never suggest something that I wouldn't be willing to do myself . That's why I wanted input from yall.  But Jes and I are talking, once a final decision is made there will be a more formal post.

I wasn't planning on making it a logistics thing. It would be, whatever ig money or "tips" you make on your shift you keep. That's how you would be paid. I was thinking of making my character roll into town with it, like that;s why she's in town to sell you guys stuff. Whatever rp reason you work is your own.

Jes I think that is a wonderful idea!  That gives you a little bit of in game RP opportunity that is pretty fun.  Good job, girl!

I love it, honestly. I've been hoping for someone to roll up as an in-game merchant for a while! We also already have a way to check out gold from our inventory at the games. As for food stuffs, I would suggest things like ramman noodle cups, granola bars, maybe beef jerky, in the cold months some hot coacoa or apple cider pouches would be yummies. I know that sometimes in between meals I'd like to nab a snack.

Fayte would be very happy to put in a shift at the snack bar

I have a walmart discount card for everyones future reference. If anyone needs it, come ask but I NEED it back when your done using it.

I'd say try to keep it healthy so that people aren't replacing meals with junk food. I think that might be kind of hard to avoid, though.

I have a sams club membership. As for food, I can try as much as possible but if adults what to do it it's kinda their problem. I have seen people be responsisble and dumb with a bar. Like drinking nothing but monster instead of water.

Yes. Let Nasher work the snack bar. Just once. >:3 Best sales ever...
