Akon doesn't stop until she is removed from Jastrey, though she remains just within sight of it through the trees. Reaching out a hand to steady herself on a tree, she curls over and grabs at her chest, her hacking becoming more defined and rib rattling. "Dammit all...." She curses, brows creased in fustration and discomfort, her features growing paler and gaunt. She then slams her fist into the side of the tree, and keeps on her treck. Next to a small boulder she paces back and forth, her composure loosening as she coughs again. She finally tires of her fuming pace, and perches on the rock, knees bracing her forarms. She sits in the streaking moonlight, hood down, and head burried into her palms. Her coughing stills for a time, coming only intermittently as she calms and as sits there whispering and mumbling to herself, fingers curled into her scalp.
A small rustling in the bushes is heard behind Akon. A dark cloaked figure is seen stand with hood drawn. Atasatch walks towards his friend and kneels beside her. He places his hand on his companions back plate and says quietly. "You need to find help my friend, I will see you perish because of the irresponsability of an unwilling healer. Would you like some help with your kill. I am a leather worker I may beable to help some." Atasatch still remains by his friends side with an unwavering stance. his hand outstretched.
Akon looks at him sidelong, tilting her head over to glance at him from her hunched over form. Something about her gaze portrays both a sad seclusion and an appreciation for a kind visitor. She looks away, covering her mouth, and coughing gently into her arm. "I've not much choice....I'm looking for other options...but my only chance to be cured is by a dwarf who will scarcely look at me because of his hatred for my kind. " She coughs a bit more, shaking her head. "I've been bleeding in front of him, defending the town, fighting by his side, and yet he refused to relieve me of my afflictions." Akon coughs a bit harder, turning further away. "You should go....I need not spread this to any other..."
"But if you know of some way to help me....I would be deeply grateful..." She gently finishes pulling the skin off the animal's carcass and places it over a branch. She then goes to cut through the meaty flesh of her fallen prey.
As Atasatch looks to his friend he looks down at his feet, he looks back up and stands up quickly and suddenly. " I will not let you die my friend, which dwarf are you looking for I will contract his skill smy self. I wont stand idley by as you couch up what life you have left. Mark my words."
Akon's eyes flick over to him again. "I am talking of the one that carries the Stone. The shaman. My other hope is that perhaps can antidote an be derived. Not only for myself, but for the others of the town. I am not the only one that is bound to suffer this..we are surrounded by those that are plagued. My last option..." She looks down, frowning. "Should it come to that..is a salve of rivival....but I'd rather not experience that."
She reaches over, placing the meat in a neat pile on a leaf, and delicately taking the bones and setting them in another pile. She then reaches up, and begins cutting the leather into various sizes.
"The antidote would be best. I would be glad to dedicate what ever resources I needed to for the cause. I wish to protect this town, be it with my life, my death, or otherwise. This is all I have...." She rises, taking the leather in hand, and looking over to the druid. "Your kindness to me does much for me, friend. I shall indeed continue to prepare for your trials. We should do it while I've still strength left."
She coughs a bit more, and then goes about putting both the skins and the animal brain into a small cauldron over a fire. "I'll walk back with you to the healers den. I want to see if that dwarf can help us prepare. I would like you to be confined somehow. Do you know if there is a prison or bars we can put you in? Or perhaps chains if nothing else? Maybe that dwarf can help with chains. That way, when we go through with this, you will pose less threat to all of us..including yourself." She reaches then, pulling out a bit of black cloth and ripping to to make a mask, tying it over her nose and mouth.
Atasatch listens intently to the Uordeqs words. He nods his head an respons and goes into a deep thought. He thinks about chains, stroaking his chin and takes a deep breath. "Perhaps the farm. There should be some form of restraint there that we could use." As Atasatch makes his way back to the healer's den he listens to the birds and the voices of the forest . "Or maybe their might be a way...noits a restricted land. I wouldnt even know how to get there, so never mind what I just said. Hmmmm I may be able to speak with Tak. he may be able to forge some chains, or he might have some lying around. Every blacksmith needs chains." Atasatch pulls his hood back exposing the blood tinged band that wraps around what used to be his ears.
" As for a antidote first we'd need to find out exactly what this plauge does, how it works what makes it receed. I guess thats what you've been doing near the corpses."

Akon coughs sharply and nods, her voice scratching. "Aye...I was trying to see what I could discover from them. But they'd been sitting far too long for me to make heads or tails of it. All I got for my efforts was this cough...and it's getting worse. Apparently Glimmer knows what went into the plague, but she knows little of what it does. Her whole description involved something like 'maybe it will start rotting their faces off. Nasty plague this is'....you know how fairies are..." Akon shoots Atasatch a knowing glance.
"Yet I suspect I have yet one more source to ask regarding its properties. An absolute expert in the field....if I can find him." She stops short, halting to hack violently, her ribs rattling with the effort. "Mmn...." She shakes her head out. "Having my face rot off would be rather unpleasant. I've been through much, but I've yet to go through that experience." She continues her pace next to the druid.
"Regardless, what comes, comes. Taklinn is busy, and of course when ever I am around him, I can near feel his beard hairs standing on end. Both him and his hot headed wife are most difficult to communicate with. Half of what I say is ignored, and the other half is skewed and twisted against me, though I am very careful with how I say things as to be clearly understood." Akon clicks her tongue. "But it is hardly to any avail. Of course I realize my race is a dark and untrusted kind. And they have in every right earned that reputation. Which is the whole reason why I left my shard and came here, as I was tired of dealing with my own kin.
"However, if you have someone that knows the art of sublety and the craft of shadows working along side you?" She grins under the mask. "It can be of great benefit and aid, and can be strong defense. If used correctly, it can serve this people well. And that is exacty what I intend to do." A slight light in her eyes indicates to Atasatch that she is smiling gently under her mask at him. "And at least I have friend in folk like you, who look past my dark eyes, and indeed regard my actions in the true light they are meant. I only hope my actions over time, will prove my character to those that choose to see my race over my individuality. "
Akon, despite her ailments, seems for a moment at peace, walking beside the elvin druid, seeming to enjoy the harmony and friendship the two shared. Something unencumbered by racism or judgement. "Maybe one day I can prove it to them....officially." She ponders quietly to herself, then looks over to Atasatch with that same calm and light gaze as before. "After all, you trust me, don't you? You trust me to protect you, and those of this town to the best of my ability?" She smiles a him still. "After all, you have already placed your trust me in my offer to aid you, to provide you and the town protection against yourself while you master this beastial power."
As Atasatch walks next to his friend, his coat gently swaying in the breeze he smiles at her. "Yes, I trust more than I trust most of the people in this town. I trust few, but when I do trust I tend to trust with my life. To me there is no such thing as semi trust, you either do or dont. It is both a weakness and a strength." While walking Atasatch retrieves a small length stick from the ground beneath his feet while walking. /he twirled it like a sword, fighting imaginary enemies.
"Although your words may not have much pull with the members of JAstrey, mine do. I have much pull with some of the senior members here. I have earned their trust and I may be able to find a cure, I can talk to Stiers, he may be willing to help me. And Taklin and I go way back, I may be able to enlist his help." As Atasatch continued to fight his imaginary demons, he smiled again and look toward Akon, for once he didnt feel stress, or serious he felt actual joy. However his joy was short lived, with sudden action Atasatch dropped to his knees and grasped his head and doubled over. Gorepaws anger raged through Atasatch's skull like banshee's scream through the fog of the night. He screamed in pain. "You will not break me! You will be confined you will be controlled!"
Akon stops as Atasatch drops, but merely stands calm vigil over the pained elf. Resting her hand over the hilt of her long blackblade at her belt, she lowers her hood with the other, standing in the streaming and faded sunlight, glancing along the forrest canopy as the birds take flight at Atasatches scream. Her burning red eyes are gentle and quiet, seemingly tamed as she waits over her friend. She does not aid him, does not comfort him, nor does she show any sympathy towards his pain. But she remains, waiting for him to conquor his struggle, patiently and calmly.
When his labored breathing seems to even, she looks back down at him, speaking gently. "In this case, my friend, I believe it a strength. Perhaps, in time, you can help me prove my trustworthiness to the others. I seek to protect the people of this town, as I have always been a defender at heart." She then offers him her hand to help him up. "I've just never been given a true opporunity to express it like I can in this town." She smiles at him.
"Let us see to the tasks at hand. I've much to do in little time. If you can talk with Taklinn about chains or a cage..or perferably both, I will perhaps speak to the other dwarf, the jerky eating one, if I can find him, and see if he too can help. If you can find the Shaman, I feel he is our greatest hope. I saw him cure one woman of a plague when I first came to town. We need a large solution, not something for just myself. Again, I am bound to not be the only one to contract this."
ooc
the recent thunderstorm fried our cpu so my posts are going to be rare and lack grammar lol
as atasatch recovers from his ordeal he looks up towards his companion
thank you my friend we must make haste i will speak to takklin and the shaman in the hopes of them gaining your trust.. t
((OOP: That sucks! Hope you can get it all sorted soon!))
Akon nods gently, helping him rise, then reaches for his shoulder to give it a supportive and companionable squeeze with a nod. "Let us worry about you and his plague first. Trust will come with time. I vill come to you again when I am ready. Prepare as much as you can. We both need you to be ready..."
She nods to him, and then adjusts her mask. "I vill see you again soon, my friend." She ducks her head away as she winds through the forrest towards the healers den.
Having sat a long while in quiet contemplation, her coughing had quieted and settled. Finally she looks up to the forrests around her, and watches still as stone as the wildlife and forrest animals went about the business in the never ending circle of death and life. A solitary doe had made its way quietly accross the forrest floor, nibbling at the small patches of lush greenery, eyes and ears always waiting for the next threat. But the doe wouldn't see it. Akon's eyes latch onto the animal and only a whisper issues from her lips. The doe's eyes dialate and is begins to wobble side to side. Akon rises quietly, slow and steady in her movements, then raises her blade in one clean flash, rending the dear lifeless in one painless strike. The thud of its body scatters the surrounding birds, as they call out in disturbed chirps and warning calls. Akon bows over the fallen animal and takes out her dagger, going to work on stripping the animal of its skin.
