some time at the forge

A noise rings out in the crimson quarter. The sounds of steel being hammered and explosions shot off. Morzoth can be seen hammering slabs of metal while stoping every now and then to shoot blue flames into his forge. A song can be herd being sung to the beat of his hammering.
"The river runs gently on and on off the shore.
the souls they are countless to see home no more.
old river old river please carry me home.

The sounds of metal rang in FuChu's ear like music calling him. The metal siren's song attracted him to it's lair. As he wandered through a strange part of Jastery he had never before seen. He spotted many of the Horned ones he had fought alongside in the battle of the mines. Fu kept to himself best he could as he progressed closer and closer until before him stood a grand Forge. Fu peered in seeing a Horned one working on metal and blasting pit like flames heating the forge. He heard creaking and moaning of the Forge under the obvious skill of this horned smith. Fu watched the smith working and singing a song in rythm with the hammering.

A dwarven hand falls upon Fu's shoulder as Taklinn walks up to the Forge.  "Hey lad, hope yer day is goin' well.  Do ye long to return to a forge?  If so, all ye need to do is but ask.  There be one in the Warrior's Hall, and I know of a couple others as well."  the dwarf says with a wink to his friend, taking his pack off his back and opening it.  He pulls a breastplate and a back plate and inspects them carefully, looking for any imperfections, real or perceived.  Finally satisfied with his inspection, he peers into the Forge and says "Hey lad!  Quit yer spell chuckin' an' lay down that slag yer workin' on, come see true craftsmenship at its finest.  Took me a little longer than I thought at first, but I got it finished for ye."  He walks over to a bench and lays the armor on a workbench and picks up a small hammer and chisel and begins tapping into the strong metal with his mark and the runes he envisions, naming the armor before delivery.  "There ye are lad, as fine an armor as I have made in many mests.  Delivered on time, and exceeding any yer to find around here."  Taklinn peers over at Morzoth's work, visibly unimpressed, but swelling with pride on the inside as his apprentice's work has obviously gotten better.  "Ye always did have a bit of an eye fer weaponmakin, and yer progress is improving" he grumbles softly with disinterest; this obviously being the closest thing to a compliment that the dwarf will give to his young apprentice.  "Couple more decades and maybe yer to be making quality goods fittin' to be compared to a dwarven craftsmen."  He lays the armor down, and says softly to Morzoth "Can't have ye goin' out into battle with shoddy armor, it would be a waste of the time I've invested in yer training."  The temporary moment of weakness subsides, and the dwarf explodes yelling "Now don't ye go losing, selling, or gettin' it stolen by some stupid hoot, or ye'll meet me axe!"

Morzoth sees the eastern dwarf standing on the edge of the forge. He peers out seeing his master blacksmith following close behind. As Taklinn lays down the armor Morzoth jumps out of his forge and picks it up.  "Ahhhhhh you daft ole Forgesplitter what have you braught me today". Studying this he remebers Fuchu standing there. He gives and greeting nod and holds up his armor. "I can make the sharpest blade on the shard but i'm shite with armor". He starts to latch on the armor to see if it fits.

Fu smiled at his fellow beard. "I was only curious at what was making the sound. But i do miss working with metals. Especially building. I may take you up on that offer Taklinn-san" FuChu said nodding. "I did not know you were a teacher as well, but nothing beats dwarven craftsmen after all."
Surprized at the speech pattern of the Horned one standing before him he simply smiled and nodded. "to be fair i am not so good at either armor or weapons, not yet any way" Fu chuckled lightly and reached out a hand to the horned one "I believe it is in your custom to do the shaking of hands when meeting a new face. I am FuChu it is pleasure to meet you Horned one"

A large bear saunters up to the forge and lets out a large yawn, stretching before he enters the forge. He pads over to the flames and lays down next to it. He curls up slightly and sighs. He begins to take a nap.

Taklinn views Morzoth trying on the armor, helping him with the buckles and trying to make sure the fit is right.  After several minutes of fiddling with the armor, he finally seems satisfied and takes a step back.  "Tis the first time I have made armor this fine fer one who ain't a dwarf lad.  Yer wepons really are starting to not look like a novice has done 'em.  Ye seem to be a natural."  Taking one step backand viewing the armor one more time he nods his head.  He then snaps his fingers and starts digging in his pack, finally pulling out a small bottle of what appears to be ale.  "Almost forgot to bless the armor afore ye wore it in battle."  Taking the cap off the bottle, he takes a drink of the holy water before running up to Morzoth and smashing the bottle across the armor, sending glass and holy water flying.  "There, now wear it well!"  he says finally, turning to leave, only looking back two times to view the armor as he leaves the area grumbling to himself.
